Gingerbread Hunt Round 1 Cont.

Catskitten - C9

Heading up the wooden steps, you gently pull the rope and ring the bell. There's a very long pause... and then you hear "GO AWAY". How rude. You decide to try the small path instead, but you barely take two steps towards it before the voice yells "I SAID GO AWAY"! Beaten, you begin to head back the way you came- as you leave, you're pretty certain you could hear the voice loudly grumble "Bah, Humbug".

CaptainHook – E2

Calmly stepping towards a reindeer, you gently stroke its fur... it's even softer and fluffier than in looks! You carry on petting, but you don't notice the other reindeer stepping back until a puff of warm air hits your neck. You turn to see a large buck standing right behind you; but it's not the size of the reindeer that causes you to gasp, it's the soft glow of its neon-red nose! The reindeer lifts its head, showing you a small bag on a rope around its neck and you gingerly take it, scarcely able to believe your eyes. Satisfied, the herd begin to move on to another feeding ground, but you swear the buck looks back at you and winks.

You open the bag... aw, how cute! You found the Reindeer Ornament!



❤️Sylveon Hearts – A3

Hurrying over to it, you carefully pick up the tiny cub and shelter it in your coat. Holding it close you start looking for the mother; and after half an hour of searching you finally spot something large and brown further down the mountain. You descend as fast as you can, and soon you're only about 20 metres away on a flat veranda. You set down the cub and it runs to the bear, which turns and sniffs the cub before gently nuzzling it. Then, it stares right at you and growls loudly- just its look freezes you in place with fright. It steps over it's cub and walks very slowly and deliberately towards you, until it's right in your face, and shows you a set of very sharp teeth... then suddenly opens them to drop an object at your feet before walking away and disappearing behind some rocks, cub in tow. PHEW!

You pick up the item... It's a Polar Bear Ornament!



Shadowangelw – D4

You turn right and continue walking down the narrow passageway... it goes on for what seems like forever, and you're tempted to turn back. Suddenly, you look up to see a faint glimmer of light, and you rush forwards excitedly. The tunnel opens out into a small cave- and in the middle is a huge stack of Mushrooms! Jackpot!

Cherryblossom – C2

You go to the cottage and knock on the door quietly. You can hear a female voice inside, and after a few seconds the door opens to reveal a little old lady with curly white hair and rosy red cheeks. She smiles warmly and welcomes you into the house before you can say anything. As you enter your nose is greeted with delicious smells, and the lady chuckles and shows you into the kitchen. You both sit down and the lady listens while you explain your reason for visiting over a mug of hot cocoa and some gingerbread biscuits. Unfortunately, she doesn't know anything about Gingerbread, but recommends you search the forest next.

Thanking her for the information and the refreshments, you politely head to the door- but as you do so a letter falls through the letterbox, and you can't help but read the writing on the envelope; and exactly who it's addressed to: "Mrs Claus"! You turn to look at the lady in surprise, and she simply smiles and puts a finger to her mouth in a "shhh" motion before handing you another gingerbread biscuit and opening the door for you. As you leave the house, you go to bite into the biscuit, but just in time you realise it's not actually a biscuit at all!

LavenderRain – B6

You continue along the border, but no matter how much you search you come up empty handed. Just as you're about to give up, you hear a faint jingling from a tree and you quickly walk towards it. Someone left a small bell on a ribbon tied to a branch... How curious.

Laying down on the ground beside the burrow, you carefully reach a hand in and try to reach the shiny object.You're so close... then you feel warm fur, and something bites your hand! You yank it out as you try not to yell, and you can hear something skittering about inside the burrow. You can't tell what animal it is, but whatever it is it has some very sharp teeth!

Very slowly, you shuffle over to beside the ram and reach to take the item. The ram snorts, making you jump back slightly, but it remains still just long enough for you to take the object- it's a long string of bright purple tinsel. How on earth did it get this?

Littlestripe – E1

Summoning your strength, after a few attempts you manage to push the rock aside to reveal a small cave in the hillside. Crouching over slightly so you don't hit your head, you step inside and search around. Suddenly, you hear multiple small yelps, and you go towards the sound to find 3 small fox pups looking at you. They keep yelping, and from somewhere in the shadows behind them there's a loud growl. You decide it's best to leave the fox family be.

Catterpilers4you – C7

You walk over to the tree and peer into the hole, having to stand on your toes so you can reach. Without warning a squirrel leaps out of the hole and almost lands on your face as it flies past you and lands in the snow before scurrying up a tree with a squeak. After recovering from the surprise you look back into the hole and spot something else is there, and you can only just reach it with your hand.

You got the Red Squirrel Ornament!



2FrostyPaws – C6

Approaching the snowman, you carefully shape the snow into the correct shape before looking around for some parts. One stick and a few small stones later, you push the last 'button' into place and step back, admiring your handiwork. Satisfied, you begin to walk away; but a soft thump alerts you and you look back. The top hat had fallen off... and as you pick it up to put it back on the snowman something falls out of it!

With a warm smile, you take the sandwich out of your pocket and unwrap it from the plastic bag before offering it to the fox. It edges closer... then snatches it from your hand and runs into the forest. You try to see where it went, but there's no sign of it. However, after a few minutes of waiting the fox emerges from the trees again, looking at you expectantly. You get the feeling it wants to show you something, and so you approach it. The fox trots back into the woods and leads you down an old path until you reach a small den- and just outside it is a small bundle of Mushrooms.

You march towards the lone tree, trying your best to get through the thick snow. You finally make it after some time, but it seems your effort was all in vain. There doesn't seem to be anything here.

Sprinting out into the field, you do your best to follow the crow. Normally it should be far faster than you, but either it's faced with strong winds or the bird is flying slowly for you. At last it lands on the ground quite a distance away, and as you approach it pecks the snow and takes off again. You start digging... and find a whole case of baubles. Who the heck left these here?

Very cautiously, you step onto the ice and begin to shuffle towards the strange object. Just as you reach halfway across you hear the ice underneath you cracking and you shuffle as fast as you can! You reach it, but before you can see what it is the ice cracks more and so you grab it and run. You barely make it back to shore before the ice breaks up behind you, and gasping for breath you hold up the object...

Really? You risked all that... for GLASSES?!

You set out into the wilderness, heading left. You trudge through the snow for a very long time... but eventually, you spot a tree up ahead. Filled with hope, you run to it, and find a small robin on one of the branches- or is it? It takes you a moment to notice the telltale golden string.

Fernmoon – B8

You climb further up the mountain and enter the cave. Ten seconds later, a grizzly bear chases you back out.

Maybe that wasn't the best idea.

Pepurrmint – B2

You hop over the fence and enter the shed, carefully closing the door behind you. It seems to be stuff for horses- riding equipment, bales of hay, etc. However, you pass a few bags of what seems to be feed, but one looks different from the rest. You investigate it, then decide to take it with you. What luck!
