Cherub Cats are feline-like creatures with wings, magical cheek swirls, and prehensile tails capable of supporting their own weight. Cherub Cats prefer to stay off the ground as much as possible, and use their tails when their wings aren't able to be used. Cherub Cat DNA appears to be very genetically unstable, and because of this, many mutations have cropped up. From wings, tails, to even body types, it seems that Cherub Cats continue to be more and more unique. A Cherub Cats ‘Build’ determines a large portion of their rarity as well as physical appearance.
Cheek swirls are always circular, except in the case of very rare mutations. The color of Cherub Cats' cheek swirls correspond to the color of their magic, and their blood color. Cherub Cats' magic is unique, and Cherub Cats can have any magical abilities that aren't overpowered, such as raising the dead, healing the fatally wounded, etc. Common magical abilities include telekinesis, simple manipulation of one of the four elements, and magical blasts or displays of power.
Cherub Cats are fully sentient and are capable of forming deep emotional bonds and using higher thinking. Cherub Cats are also capable of forming romantic bonds with other Cherub Cats regardless of gender, and there are no set biological sexes. All pairings are able to breed, including polyamorous couplings.
Cherub Cats come from a realm similar to fantasy-medieval settings, but can be drawn in any setting including futuristic scenarios. Every Cherub Cat has their own unique personality, hobbies, and interests. No two Cherub Cats are exactly alike!

ＲＵＬＥＳ:

-Cherub cats is a closed species, do not make your own.
-No begging / stealing designs.
-Be polite to others, and treat everyone with respect.
-Do not harass or beg others for their Cherub Cats -- this includes MYO Tickets, HM Customs, Breeding Slots, etc. This doubles for staff - don't harass them about your nursery batches or customs.

-You are allowed to own up to 10 Cherub Cats at a time. This amount may be raised by 150 Halos or the Pet/C$/Items Equivalent
-Trading of Cherub Cats is allowed, but only ONE Cherub Cat for ONE Cherub Cat
-Gifting is also allowed. In cases of both trading and gifting, one of the owners or the archivist must be alerted of the ownership change.
-You are allowed to 'give up' or put the Cherub Cat up for public readoption
-Going behind my back and trying to resell Cherub Cats for currency you didn't buy them for (such as USD/ DA Points/FR stuff/CS stuff) will result in an instant ban.
-You are allowed to add accessories / take away accessories in your art of them.
-Cherub Cats can be OC's, Fursonas, ect. This is encouraged!
-You are free to anthropomorphize them.
-If using them outside CS, please link to either this thread or the DA page, which is here
- as of 10/28/2018; any cherub cat adopted via free methods (competitions, raffles, dta or wta, anything where you physically didn't pay me C$, pets, items, tokens, etc.) will be seized if you are banned from my species.

-You are required to make at least one Cherub Cat a week.
-You are held up to a standard of quality - do not post a Cherub Cat adoptable if you think you cannot produce something of quality. PM one of the owners if you are suffering from legitimate Artist block.
-Do not use higher rarity traits often. There are a lot of standard / common traits for a reason. Every three or four adopts is good for deciding when you should throw in an uncommon trait.
-Rare traits can only be used with an owner's permission.
-You can sell a Cherub Cat for Art/Pets/C$/etc. every FIVE adopts made and it cannot be a rare one.
-You are granted periodic custom slots with the highest rarity being rare.
-Customs made from your artist position are unable to be sold or traded away but may be readopted under an owners supervision.

-Same rules as artists except;;
--- You are required to make at least one Cherub Cat every two weeks.
--- You only get to make one uncommon adopt.
--- Your MYO is allowed two uncommon traits.

The Common Build(common)
A Common built Cherub Cat can be spotted by their fluffy paws, soft wings, and usually friendly face! They usually have very little to no scarring, and are around the average size of the housecat. Due to their nature, they are disallowed to have the following traits:
Bat Wings, Talons, Fangs.

The Corrupt Build(Uncommon)
Corrupt Cherub Cats are typically larger than their Common counterparts, and can be easily spotted by their bat wings. Some of them have paws, and some of them have talons! However, Talons are a Corrupt Cherub Cat exclusive trait, and are unable to be shared with Common Cherub Cats. Additionally, visible fangs or slitted pupils may denote a Corrupt Cherub Cat.

The Wingless Build(rare)
They are denoted by tiny wings, torn or ruined wings, or no wings at all, and typically use their tails to keep themselves off the ground instead of their wings. The Wingless also typically have stronger magic, though not always! They're not allowed to have wings, except "unusable", which is a rare trait in itself!

The Cherub Dog(Very rare)
The Cherub Dog instead of looking feline, looks canine. Unless afflicted by the "Big Cat Mutation", every Cherub Dog must resemble some sort of domesticated breed of canine. This ranges from Beagles to German Shepherds, but it must be apparent what breed they are when drawn!

The Aquatic Build(exclusive)
A breed of Cherub Cat that has no wings, but has finned ears, an aquatic tail, and often has fins or frills dotting its body! They aren't considered Corrupt or Wingless, and aren't allowed to be Cherub Dogs. They’re incredibly rare and are able to swim and breathe underwater! No one quite knows what they are or where they came from, but they're certainly lovable goofs!
They are forbidden to have any sort of wings, fake or otherwise. Aquatic Build cherub cats may be auctioned off on the rare occasion.

The Seraph Build(Restricted)
A staff-exclusive Cherub Cat build that is denoted by eyes dotting the body and upwards of six wings on the body. Seraphs are mythological creatures only rumored about in Cherub Cat mythology, and at this time only one honorary Seraph exists.

cherub dog build, fur material change (such as gooey fur), mismatched wings (one feathered one one bat wing), mixed type wings, sphinx mutation

Exclusive
traits applied to event cherub cats and auctions.
no artist can make exclusive traited cherub cats without discussing it with an owner.

What Are Halos?

Halos are a fictional currency used by Cherub Cats, which is purchasable with Pets, C$, Items, or FR Currency. While I'm doing my best to move away from the Halo system, they are still occasionally used for auctions, raising ownership slot amounts, and other things.

Why is the limit for Cherub Cat ownership so low?

To discourage character collecting. I would rather have people who genuinely love and want to use these characters owning Cherub Cats, and people who are active are sometimes gifted extra ownership slots as rewards for their activity in Cherub Cats.

Why are some Cherub Cats off-base?

Because I'm a rebel and I can only do so much base coloring. Also, Cherub Cats started off almost entirely off-base, that's why.

I want to take my Cherub Cat off-site and don't know how to credit. How should I?

-- When drawing your Cherub Cat / uploading to those sites, make sure to credit the proper artist by linking to their CS profile page

Customs are obtainable through numerous ways, however the main way is through HM's.
One may be able to earn / purchase customs when custom auctions or slots are put up. However, custom auctions are mostly reserved for high-rarity builds, like Cherub Dogs and Aquatic Builds.

All pets are considered to be worth /at least/ 1 Halo, so even VC’s are worth something.
Bonuses may be added on a case-by-case basis for years, how badly I wanted the pet (if a wishlist pet), and rarity. This guide is just what is "generally" used and should be used as a baseline.
Additionally, wishlist pets are worth 3x their normal price. Hoard pets have +1 Halo redemption value.
Demand for a pet is taken into account. Let's say you hand me a Malk '09 rare, I'm going to give you more than 50 Halos for that pet.
Every Halo transaction is unique and I'm usually incredibly generous.

Art Conversion

You can also earn Halos by doing art of any existing Cherub Cat. Starters are Cherub Cats owned by myself and nuggetseb and are fair game to draw, even if you do not have one of your own. This is a great way to earn Halos if you do not have spare pets to convert, spare C$, or other currency.
This also counts for your own Cherub Cats.

Sketch, Uncolored: No Halos
Sketch, Colored: 5 Halos
Lined, Uncolored: 3 Halos
Lined, Colored: 10 Halos
Lined, Colored, Shaded: 15 Halos
+ A background: 5 additional Halos
Animation: 2 Additional Halos per Frame
This stacks for each Cherub Cat involved, so a Lined, Colored, and Shaded drawing of three cherub cats would earn you 45 Halos.
All art must be full body, meaning 75% of the animal must be shown. Headshots or less than 75% of the body being shown earns you 50% of the Halos you'd otherwise earn.
