I dislike the big lick as well, i would only have them drawn naturally. Preferably in a halter showing type pose as shown in the last three images you gave. While the 3rd image you posted would be great too, i feel it woupd be too similar to the bear run tolters lineart. I do enjoy the last picture the most though!
