Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.

"I'm the girl who will prove them all wrong"

"Don't just dream, but get up - wake up."

Username: wolfpuppies
Pup Number: Four (4)
Name: Maeve
Nickname: May
Gender: Female
"When I die, I don't want to rest in peace."

Personality: She is headstrong and bold. Not one for hearing things are impossible or unable to be done, she'll push to prove that anything is possible someway, somehow. Her bullheadedness has gotten her into quite the arguments with the her family and with strangers, simply because she will not budge over things she believes in; if she is proven wrong, she will at a later time concede she was, but not while she is defending her side, that is how bad she can get.
Her tenacity is good and bad though. It has helped her to accomplish many feats in her life and has allowed her to help others in their endeavors. So despite the drawbacks, she doesn't care that she it could be a fault of hers. It's worked and it's part of who she is. Deal with it or you're welcome to leave.
"It's too early for failure"

Personality in Song: Dance in the Graveyards
Stand Up
One Shot
"Are you going to be a victim? Are you going to get lost, looking for an easy way out?"

Snippet:
She couldn't believe them. The cowards. As if spirits could truly harm anyone; they didn't even exist. Not only were they quaking little pups. But they had the audacity to tell her that it was far too dangerous a trip for a young female like herself. Ha! As if! She would show them that not only was the trip far from dangerous, but that there wasn't a spirit to be found.

Maeve fumed silently to herself as she quickly loped through the open plains. It was unfamiliar territory to her. But she knew she was fine - the area was unclaimed so she wouldn't find challenge from any other wolf here. And if they did, she wouldn't roll over. They'd be in for the fight of their life.

Dusk quickly faded to night. Then night to the pre-glow of dawn. Deciding that she might as well rest before she entered the ' haunted' swampland, the adolescent female found a small patch of shrubs to protect her from the cool breeze. As she lay in a light doze, Maeve's ears still twitched with each sound that came to them; her nostrils still flared to catch the scents wafting their way. She used the training from her parents - passed down through the generations to keep them alive - in order to stay alert even while she allowed her body and mind to rest. It was thanks to this training that she was able to catch the sound. A barely there whisper of a noise.

Head snapping up, the canine was immediately alert. Though her eyes took a moment to clear, she still was immediately scanning her surroundings. Body tense, taut like a drawn bowstring, she waited for another sign of life, another hint of that almost-full sound. But it never came.

Wary, Maeve remained where she was. It wouldn't do good to further draw attention to herself by moving more. Whatever had woken her fully could be watching her as she listened for it. Or it could have been a trick of your mind she thought as the not-quiet of dawn surrounded her. But she wasn't one to hallucinate or imagine false noise, at least not in the past, so she doubted that was the case. Unless proven otherwise, she'd go with the fact that something else was out there with her.

Seconds passed. Then minutes. Still no other sound came to her from the swamplands before her nor the grassland behind her. Just as she was about to admit in the dark corner of her mind that maybe - just maybe - she could have been hearing things, something caught her attention. Immediately all her senses snapped to this new source. Something was moving, not quiet drifting and not quiet flying, from the mists of the swamp up toward the pinkening sky above. Fur bristling, body tense, eyes wide she watched in shock and fear as the object continued to raise up to the sky barely growing in clarity. All she could really see was blood-red shimmering in the golden light of the rising sun followed by a glistening trail of silver.

Maeve kept as still as stone until the form disappeared from sight. Once it had, she still waited for nearly an hour. For what, she wasn't sure.

Suddenly rising to her paws, she glared at the swamp before her and curled back her lips in challenge. "If that's the best you can throw at me, and think it's going to scare me off, you have another thing coming!" With a sharp bark and growl, she was leaping forward into the unknown. It could be toward her demise. She could find herself at the mercy of spirits - or whatever that figure was. But there was no way that she was letting some minor scare like that terrorize her and keep her away like all the others.

Little note - the figure she saw was of my Starry, Kusari; more info below

"I never get tied down by worries; because I'm never alone, I have no fear."

Figures in Life: Maeve still keeps in touch with her family, sometimes to their annoyance. She doesn't always let things go easily and will bring things up from the past when given the chance. But they still care for one another and look out for each other.

Other than that, the only other significant in her life is Kusari He's the only other constant, as she hasn't left him alone since she ran into him when she was a younger adult (barely able to travel alone). Once she realized he wasn't some sort of crazed spirit, she immediately was curious about him. His species, his choice of home, his lifestyle. Everything. Though some think there is more going on, truly Maeve and Kusari are close friends. If it were to be labelled it were to be like a bonded mentor and apprentice as he teaches her some of the harder life lessons he had to learn; but also some of the amazing things there are in the world.
"While I'm alive, I don't want to be alone; mourning the ones who came before."
