Just so you know, I got permission from Holli saying that she'd like to see my story when it's done, but sure, she'd give me permission. But on the preferences, she didn't say anything about permission. AND I sent her the story over 2 weeks ago, and she still hasn't responded, so I sent it again 2 days ago. So what now?

If her preferences don't state that she wants you to get permission, then it isn't needed.

If you are the only one with a form for her, then yes.
Also, I noticed your form isn't completely filled out. A form with nothing written under the history/background/other section won't get you a character anyway, whther you have permission or not. x3

If you have her permission (and she asked it to be given in her preferences), you have to post it, otherwise, you're automatically out of the running anyway. If you want a chance at her, please do edit in the permission.

Name You'd Choose for It: Dior
Gender: Female
Reason You Want It: For a long time now I've been wanting another canine character as a friend for my character Prince. I went around to a bunch of different adoption agencies, looked on dA, tried to make my own, but nothing. When Dior was posted, I clicked on the agency under my posts tab just because it was a new post and I had nothing to do. Boy, am I glad I did. I am absolutely in love with this design. It just says personality from looking at it. I just had to try for her.
History/Background/Other: Dior's personality is initially misleading. She seems prissy, almost stuck up, and certainly not very much fun. Some of that is true. Dior always finds a way to be as clean as possible. She's a bit of a princess and can be stubborn. She is not, however, stuck up and does not have a bad attitude. Though hesitant at first, Dior will muster up the courage to do whatever needs to be done to attain her goals. It could be rough, dirty, terrifying, but when it's in her way, Dior will get past it. Afterwards she tends to act like these things never happened and not speak of them, hence one of the reasons she is commonly mistaken as having a 'too good for you' attitude. This quirk in her personality is also the reason she came to live in her new home.

Dior loved her sister. She really did. But now that L'amoure had such a patient and protective boyfriend, Dior wanted something more in her life than babysitting her nervous sister. But on the other hand, she knew it would be impossible to leave her forever. She shuddered to think of what would become of poor Lam would become if they were totally separated. Slowly, she made a plan. She would go out into the world, see what she would, and come home again. A happy situation for both herself and her sister. It would not, of course, exactly be a vacation, but it would be something different. That was all she asked.
After a month of planning, Dior had her trip planned. It wasn't easy telling her sister what she planned to do, but Dior had come prepared - around her neck she wore a golden locket that L'amoure had given to her, promising always to keep them together in her heart. The reassurance of her return trip helped too.
When she first started to come upon areas she did not recognize, Dior felt as nervous and frightened as her sister. She continued on with a staunch refusal to turn back set in her mind. From there things got easier... and harder. Dior found that she seemed to lack much of what others considered to be common knowledge. It frustrated her to have to ask questions only to be answered with questions of how far had she come from, and did she need help finding her mother? She was so obviously old enough to travel on her own! This hardened her slightly, enough to make her wary of strangers, but not enough to make her altogether cold. She much preferred to sit and listen to the stories of the those around her than to engage in a conversation.
Like those she met on her way, the land offered difficulties as well as joy to Dior. Much of what she saw was entirely new to her. The forest was her biggest shock. Coming from a wide open plain with mountains visible in the distance, the abundant life in close quarters was quite different. At first, she felt claustrophobic. It didn't take long for the cool air and speckled patches of sunlight to win her over, however and she became quite comfortable. Dior ended up spending most of her time in the forest, which came to fascinate her.
The plan for her trip was round, as to cover as many new places as possible. It seemed almost too soon that she recognized the wide open plains she had come from. Still, she was happy to be close to home. She slowed to a relaxed pace to take in all the open space. Just as she was beginning to feel peaceful and clam, she was startled by the sound of something moving very fast towards her. Listening closely, she prepared to escape or attack. Before she had time to fully make out where the sound was coming from, a blur of gray, blue, and burgundy suddenly burst into her view.

I'm still working out the details of the rest, but the 'blur' is my character Prince, and after talking for a while and I think meeting or helping my other characters in some way she decides that it's time for her to leave Lam with her boyfriend. She only chooses this because they are close enough for frequent visits.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.

Colbie
Gender:

Reason You Want It:
Firstly, the design is drop dead gorgeous! I just absolutely fell in love with it the first second I laid eye on it. I've always wanted a similar design, and here one is with a wonderful color scheme! I just couldn't pass up my chance. He has so much personality put into the design, and I love it. He has those average colors, but they're put together in such a manner than make him stand out, and just really compliment the charrie. |3 Secondly, I know my current charrie may not show it, but I LOVE natural color designs. I'm just not very imaginative, and I can never get natural character color designs together to look nice, so I always end up with my black and brightly colored charries. I'd really love a natural colored charrie, since I am so challenged in making my own. |D As a last little conclusion to my desperate want of this charrie, I see my sort of style and personality reflected from him. He seems a lot like me, and I think I'd be able to play him out in roleplays (which I plan on doing). |3
History/Background/Other:
Name:
Colbie
Nickname:
Colb, C, Bee
Age:
2.5 in wolf/dog years ;; 18 in human years
Gender:
Female
Species:
Mutt (dog, not wolf… D|)

History:
Colbie was born into the world on a warm spring morning, May 22, 2010. Her mother was a loner, not belonging to a home, and her father was unknown. Bee looked almost nothing like her mother, or her siblings for that matter. She was born with the darker, more brown colors that apparently belonged to her father, while all of Colb’s siblings were passed their mothers light, white coat. Colbie has a little of her mother here and there, like her emerald green eyes and creamy colored belly. Both of Colbie’s brothers, and her sisters were given her dads bland, brown eyes; and so Colbie’s bright green eyes are considered her best feature.
Although Colbie looked virtually almost nothing like her mother, her mother was most fond of Colbie, and no less than the most protective over her. Colbie was the smallest in her litter, and it had been a miracle she had even survived. Colbie was nearly attached to her mother’s side, always found right next to her or cowering behind her. She was fearful of almost everything, and while her sibling would tumble off in play. Colbie would sit a safe distance away and silently cheer on her littermates.
Times were bound to change. Colbie became more confidant within a few months, and was soon always wandering off and exploring; worrying her mother sick. At first, Colbie would only go missing for an hour or two, but as time wore on, so did her absence. Soon she was missing for a day or two at a time, and her family paced frantically in anxiety; or at least her mother. Colbie’s other siblings had been envious of the attention Colbie’s mother gave her, and somehow resented her even though she was blood related. When that day came that Colbie went missing, her siblings were really ones to complain…
In the middle of exploring a new area of the forest, Colbie had tumbled into the deep, wide stream she had been prowling next to curiously. It had rained the night before, and so the currents were strong and the stream was more like a small river almost. Colbie fought with all her might, but was unable to keep her head above the menacing waves for very long. A towering wave crashed down upon her head, and Colbie was shoved down into the chilly water; out cold after hitting her head on a rock along the side of the streambed. The next morning, with heavy paws the dark female awoke around midday with an unfamiliar, blurry face hanging over hers. She didn’t get a good look at first. Her vision was poor and she was tired, so she only got a glimpse of the light, cinnamon colored fur before her mind went black again.
Colbie doesn’t know how much time passed until the next time she woke, all she knows is that now she was in a soft, warm bed; trapped behind walls. Panic set in as her first reaction; where was she? What happened? Why was she so sore and tired? Her questions were soon answered when Skipper appeared. Skipper was a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, and his owners were the owners of the house she lay inside at the moment. Skipper explained everything, like how he had found her at the bed of a stream. She hadn’t woken up, and so the Duck Tolling Retriever had sought after his owners for help. Skipper’s people had taken Colbie in, and this was why she was where she was.
Colbie doesn’t remember much about that day. The whole incident is foggy, and so she mostly tries not to think of it.

Personality:
Every day, average American sweetheart is pretty much the slogan that’s fits Colbie best. She’s nearly completely selfless, finding it hard to turn away from anyone. Colbie is well known for her laid back attitude, and soft spoken, light but seductive voice that can calm even the wildest of wolves. This female doesn’t really care what your reputation is, what you look like; all that matter to her is what you are on the inside. She’s fair, understanding, and completely sympathetic toward everyone and everything. Colb is willing to sacrifice her time to lend a helping hand, always there to catch you before you fall; in one word she's most definitely reliable. She isn’t perfect, she’s made mistakes, and even she knows you can learn from them; and is able to relate to where they’re coming from. All Colbie needs is an apology, and everything is as good as done; at least for the most part, she isn’t one to hold a grudge. Her spirit is free, and she lives every day to the fullest, trying not to dwell on the small things. Many consider her carefree, but she really has more of a cheerful individual. She’s always looking on the bright side, just going with the flow and keeping herself breezy.
Bee is by no means stupid or uneducated, just a little on the un-updated side. She isn’t trained in sarcasm, and can often be misled to thinking something the complete opposite of what you mean. She’s somewhat juvenile in the way she thinks, just like a kid; but more than not others adore this asset of Colbie. She’s so pure, untainted with the petty-ness and poisonous ways of other wolves, which is both good and bad for different reasons. She can be incredibly shy when faced with a good looking male, but for the most part outgoing and adventurous. She’s always up for a new challenge, and doesn’t like to be stuck doing something for too long; she gets bored too easily for that.
On the rare case that C does get really upset over something, she doesn’t show it. She shields her emotion from watchful eyes, and only lets her tears fall when alone and away from other wolves. She hates to disappoint, and she feels like showing darker emotions just brings everyone down, or concerns them about her when she can handle herself all on her own. Unfortunately she finds herself very stressed in times like these because she has no one to confide in, and can sometimes lash out in frustration, but not with the intentions of doing so.
Colbie is very protective, maybe too protective of ones that she loves. The female loves almost everyone, but there are those special others that she holds closer to her heart than others. She’s devoted to these few wolves, and would do anything for them; anytime, anywhere.

Reason You Want It: He is just the cutest kitten ever! I would like him to be the kit of my Fursona, Kai, and her mate, Akando. When I saw this cat, I was instantly in love. Everything from his sandy-brown fur to the white markings around his eyes is beautiful, and I was instantly reminded of Akando. Something about his expression reminded me of his father's determined mindset, but yet I saw a hint of his mother's kind, soft nature in there. I could just imagine how many fun adventures he could get into, along with a sisters I am working on.
History/Background/Other:
This morning I was roughly awoken by my sister, Kanti, as she rolled over in her sleep, mumbling something about rabbits. I slowly opened my eyes, becoming aware of an unfamiliar rushing sound. As I got up, I saw that the river was so high, almost flooding!!
"Mama, what happened?" I sleepily mumbled to my mama, who was lying by the big rocks grooming herself.
"It's nothing, Elsu. The ice melted last night. Spring is coming!" She replied. Wow! I thought to myself. I had heard pa telling stories about the spring, and how there were so many rabbits and little baby deer. But I had never thought I would see it myself! I hadn't been born until last fall, and I don't remember any of it! I only remember the cold winter, when mama and pa and me and Kanti and Naira were all snuggled up in our little cave, safe and sound from all the snow. I can't wait for spring, when me and Kanti and Naira can finally explore our little glade! I hate being trapped in that cave all day!
The days went quickly after that, and me and Kanti could sometimes go out to play, when the weather was nice. I loved playing in the sand by the river and climbing the trees around the clearing, but Kanti preferred playing house or make-believe by the rocks. I sometimes went over to her, and she quickly managed to convince me to play with her. I spent a lot of time that moon pretending to be a brave knight, rescuing the damsel in distress, played by Kanti. Although I complained about it all the time, it was actually fun to be a valiant warrior for the day, in a completly different world filled with dragons, princesses, and danger.
Finally it was warm enough to sleep outside at night. We all settled down for the night, but I could not get used to it.
"What was that??" I exclaimed
"Shh Elsu, it's just a bird" comforted my mama.
"What's a bird?" I asked her. "I've never seen one of those!"
"You'll see in the morning, Elsu. It's time to go to sleep now" I snuggled close to her. She would protect me from any scary stuff that lived in the forest in the night! One day, I woke up and found I was all wet!
"Mama!!! Help!!!!!!" I shouted, while licking myself furiously. "I'm all wet!!!!!"
I saw my mama wake up with a start, as well as pa and Kanti.
"Rain!" pa exclaimed. "Don't worry, Elsu, Kanti, we just need to get out of the the rain until it is over. Into the cave!"
We scrambled into the cave, and as we settled down in the nice, dry cave, a huge boom and a flash of light flashed.
"Pa? What was that?" I asked, face pressed into his fur. Naira stumbled over to us. She had slept in the cave last night, because she was blind and didn't like new places.
"What was that scary sound??" she asked. Pa sighed and collected all of us in a ring around him.
"That was thunder" he said. "Do you know why thunder happens?" We all shook our heads. No, we didn't. "Well, let me tell you. Long ago, there was a brave cat named Taiko. He lived in a small tribe next to the shore..." For the next few hours, me, Kanti and Naira all sat by Pa's feet, mesmerized, as he told us the legend of Taiko the warrior and his fight with the sky giants. Even Mama listened in! The story went like this. In a small village next to the shore, a little kitten was born. His name was Taiko, and he was the fastest cat in the whole tribe. Taiko was as fast as a swallow, and when he ran, you couldn't see anything except his golden fur, streaking by. One day his tribe had gotten the sky giants angry. The sky giants were going to lock all the cats up in their cloud prison, but Taiko defeated them with the help of his friends, and locked them up in their own prison! Now, whenever Taiko runs up in the sky, the sky giants see him and roar out of anger. That is why there is thunder.
"Is that really what happened?" Kanti asked in a curious voice.
"That is for you to figure out" he replied. I peeked outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of Taiko, and noticed that the storm was already over.
"Look!" I exclaimed. "The rain stopped! Now we can go out and play!" We ran outside, and Naira convinced us to act out the story of Taiko and the sky giants. Naira loved acting, and we were supposed to mind her since she was blind. Since I was the only boy, I got to be Taiko! By the time we were done acting it out, the moon had come out and it was time for us to sleep.

I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it. Yes! I promise to get lots of art for him, and write lots of stories and everything else!

Reason You Want It: I was scrolling through the agency and I was attracted to her at once. Her design stood out and I love the unique qualities in her. I scrolled through all of kennels twice, but only she brought me attention. I will love her and give her a story about her life, not to mention piles of art!
History/Background/Other: When she was born to her fair and beautiful mother, her father disliked her at once. He, as the lead stallion, banned her from the herd as soon as she was weaned. Today she wonders why her father would despise her. Sonata still attempts to locate her parents. She appears to have a confident and brave heart, but she really is a shy filly trapped in loneliness.

Reason You Want It | Over the past week or so, I've been looking for a fursona. She definitely struck my eye as a very calm and sweet girl, so I am very interested in her. She would be drawn a lot and would receive lots of art. I promise you she will be going to a good home.
Personality | That of a year old doe, she is very rambunctious and curious. She loves to run around with the others, but at times she gets rather annoyed with the others and would then rather sit in the field and chew her cud, watching her surroundings. Most describe her as moody and sometimes people say she will never find a stable male, only be the prize of a harem. She will not fight with everyone, and is nice to every single person, even to people who hate her. She also treats everyone with a decent amount of respect and never talks back.
Other | Should would probably be draw in more than one form and stories would be written about her. I dont have a history because it takes far too long for me to come up with a good story, but I can promise you I will make her one. I just really dont want to end up with a story about her living on the streets with a single mother because her father abused her.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.

Name You'd Choose for It:

Flamel

Gender:

Female

Reason You Want It:

I have no idea why, but I am oddly attracted to her. The more I see her whenever I browse through the adoptions, the more I feel like I would love to be able to care for her along with my other charries. As a rule, I steer clear of feathery creatures, but I would be more than happy to make an exception for her. ^^ The thought of drawing her scares me quite a bit, but I am quite willing to take the challenge as I did with my little Pyrite~

History/Background/Other:

Personality

Flamel is a fiery girl, her spirit showing very strongly the force of life she embodies. Eternally stubborn, she has a hard time admitting when she is wrong, which has proven to a be problem in the past. Recklessness tends to make her be even more of a hassle, yet gratefully, her optimism prevents her from getting too angry too often, as when anger does get the better of her, the consequences tend to be rather critical for those around her.

Despite her regal looks, this small feathered dragon is quite clumsy, usually provoking her anger further than needed. The thing that drives her the most is the need to find out why she survived, or rather, why she was reborn. Little does the inquisitive Flamel know that her reason for having survived had to do with her incredible will to live, and nothing to do with the cosmos she looks up at for answers.

History

I wasn't always like this... Not always this colorful, not always this shape... not even this... this thing I've become. I should be grateful. How many creatures can say that they have lived through what I have? Then again, maybe this blessing is a curse in disguise.

A reptilian head shook as the words were thought, an angry look on the feathered face. Thoughts like this sometimes plagued the winged creature that could really only be described as a 'dragon' of sorts, although she was by no means massive or an embodiment of fear. Maybe it would be best to start at the beginning... you see, this dragon was not always so. While the skies were indeed her home in the forests of New Guinea, this girl used to be nothing more than a bird of paradise in her day.

- - - - -

Songs filled the air, and plumage and dancing could be shown all over the sky. It was spring, and the mating rites of the birds of paradise were taking place, males showing off, and the girls choosing the right one to pair with. Those that had already been chosen happily stayed with their females, ignoring their surroundings. If only they had been paying more attention, maybe they would have noticed the strange air of the forest, the way other animals were hiding, as man found their way through the foliage, their sights on the beautiful plumes of the males that were now courting the remaining females. Shots filled the air, killing the males that they hit, and as they fell to the ground, a young female fell with them, her wing wounded, and pain clear in her screech.

As footsteps approached, the fallen female, the instinct to survive strong in her, she hid from view, and watched as men took the bodies of her family and friends away, muttering in a strange tongue she had never heard before. Scared of being found, she remained quiet and stayed under the bushes, praying she would not be discovered. Her pleading was answered, and men left the area, however, wounded, her pride shattered, and too weak to keep moving, she stayed where she was, sleep overtaking her. Her eyes closing, she gave a grieving sigh, hoping against reason that when she woke up, this had all been nothing more than a horrible nightmare, nothing more than nerves getting the best of her the day before the mating rituals took place. Little did she know that things would only get worse...

- - - - -

Desperate cries rouse from the forest, birds, mammals, even the plants and air seemed to cry out in fear and pain. Eyes bursting open, the small bird of paradise looked around and saw smoke billowing in the sky, birds flying as far as they could, and those who could not fly were scampering for their lives. Scared and confused, the young female looked around, trying to understand what was going on, why the others were acting so. The sight that met her eyes made her scream in horror. Flames consumed everything in it's path, as the men had left their campfire unchecked, and a large fire now threatened the animals of the forest.

Heat encompassed all around the helpless creature, and as she cried out for help, she was left behind, still weak from the wound inflicted on her earlier, the pain on her wing crippling her as she attempted to run. As she fell to the ground beak first, tears would have run down from her eyes as she realized that this was the end for her.

This cannot be it... I am too young to die... I will not die!

- - - - -

A strange sense of awareness overtook the small bird as she regained conscience. The ground beneath her was wet and slippery, a muddy feel to it as ash and grime clung to her feathers as she gingerly got up, her limbs shaking on the forest floor. The devastation from the fire was very evident, the trees scorched, the earth charred. As the young bird slithered out of the pile of ash she had risen from, she tripped, her new front limbs getting in the way of her hind ones. Confused, she turned her neck around to view her hindquarters and realized how much longer it had gotten, and how colorful she looked.

"Ah... it seems to be I did not need to come for you."

A calm and surprisingly pleasant voice came from behind the bird of paradise, and she turned around in fear, not sure what to do, especially with how clumsy her body seemed to be reacting to the changes she was just now noticing. As she did so, she noticed the voice was accompanied by a body. A creature she had never seen before, a canine of some sort, ears erect, muzzle thick, tail bushy, and some strange garments covering areas of the fur, bandages, which she had never seen being used before.

"Who are you?" she asked, incredulous that such a creature even stood in front of her with such a calm look on his face.

The creature smiled, his blue gray fur and menacing red eyes looking out of place on the gentle wolf.

"Now where are my manners... My apologies, Flamel. I am Anubis, the Ripper's familiar, and bringer of death," he answered, sitting down with a complacent look.

The black eyes of the smaller creature burst open in fear, her feathers trembling at the mention of who he was. Had this happened in any other occasion, she probably would have thought the creature mad, but there was something about him that told her without a doubt that he was telling the truth. The fact that he knew who she was was almost proof of that to her simple mind.

"So does this mean... I am dead? Is that why I look the way I do?" she asked, her wings giving a half hearted drop.

"Quite the opposite. I came here to gather the souls of all of those who died today in this fire. You were the one I could not find, I can very much see why now. You seem to have turned into a phoegon, a draconic phoenix of sorts. That would explain why you can see me as I am now, and why you can understand me. You have ascended to a higher plain, the plain of immortals."

A blank look crossed Flamel as he explained all this to her, her ignorance obvious as she sat down, trying to process the information she had just been given. So many questions were crossing her mind, and just as many were being forgotten. The young bird had never been one for paying attention to things for too long. The one question that stuck however made her feathers bristle with an unquenchable need to know the answer.

"But why?"

As she turned her head up, her question out of her now reptilian head, she realized she was all alone, still covered in grime and soot, the place where the wolf had stood in only seconds earlier bearing no trace of her visitor. A scowl appeared on the small phoegon's face, her tail lashing out angrily, her fiery nature surfacing now that the initial shock had left her and the impending doom of men and fire had vanished. Her wings giving an angry beat, a snarl crossed her muzzle as she clenched her talons.

How dare he? He just left without finishing his explanation? What kind of a 'bringer of death' is he? Who does he think he is? I swear, when I find him, I will rip him to shreds!

These thoughts were too fast, too many for her to retain, and soon enough she calmed down, her feathers flattening once more. A sigh escaped her lips as she looked up to the sky, by now stars flickering in and out of view. Alone and with the need to know why, she beat her wings once more and took to the sky, first to find a safe place where she could regain her strength, and later to find Anubis and the answers she needed.

I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.

Pet's ID Tag: #93 - Kituen
Name You'd Choose for It: Xian (pronounced Si-an)
Gender: Male
Reason You Want It: I have recently been looking for some new OCs; I do not roleplay or write stories (often), but I am an artist and my characters are usually the subjects for my pictures. I also do not have many male characters, or natural colored ones at that.
History/Background/Other: Xian is a tough wolf; he is a fighter. He was born to a small pack; one group of a greater pack. He had two siblings, both of which are now deceased, having never made it fully through puphood. His father was the Alpha of his small pack, and his mother is also deceased, although he can somewhat remember her assuring voice and warm body. Growing up with only a father (and Alpha at that) made Xian tough. Upon entering his young wolf years, he left his pack (on good terms) to join the Greater Pack, a force of wolves who patrol the lands, keeping order to their forest. Hard work and dedication caused him to rise in ranks, until he was second in command, next only to Kajj, leader of the Greater Pack. Kajj was eventually overthrown by a corrupted wolf within the pack, who aided an outside pack into taking over the forest. Xian fought desperately to protect his beloved home, but failed (too many of his own ranks sided with the newcomers). He hasn't seen his family pack since his departure, and no forest creature has heard of the pack. He does not know whether his father is dead or alive. Having been defeated by the now new leader, Gaar, Xian barely escaped with his life. Wondering on his own, in a daze and without emotion, he leaves the heart of his homeland in search of a new beginning. It is on this journey of his life that he meets Dani, a beautiful she wolf that fills an empty void in his heart. Though bitter upon their meeting, Dani shows Xian that while one's whole world may be turned upside down and shaken, starting over with nothing left behind you just may not always be so bad.

Name You'd Choose for It: Maia (This is the name of a Roman earth goddess of springtime.)
Gender: Female
Reason You Want It: She reminds me of a VERY old character I made when I was about 5. I had completely forgot about this char until I seen this little one. I've fallen in love with her design and although somewhat similar to my long forgotten char is still unique. I'd love to have her as an updated version of my long forgotten "friend". She will be greatly cherished and taken care of, like all my char's. (I plan to add minor accessories, but nothing huge.)
History/Background/Other:
Maia is a quiet creature, only showing herself to those she trusts. She will only speak when she is good and ready, and only when she feels that something should be said. Being a creature of the earth she brings life to every place that she visits. She can control minor earth elements to protect, heal and help herself and others if she feels they deserve it. Human's are not usually blessed with her special powers because she know's how greedy and selfish these creatures can be, though a rare few have had this amazing blessing. Other creatures of the forest depend on her to help them grow and flourish. She helps them establish boundaries and sort out feuds that may arise; but more importantly they rely on her to use her special powers to bring them food and shelter in their forest homes.

Her amazing powers also bring lot's of joy to local farmers if they are willing to make a calm and friendly relationship with her. However...many people have tried to capture her with greedy intentions which in turn always end in failure. Because of this Maia has learned to fear humans and those who she used to trust are no longer blessed with her presence because of her fear of being captured. Maia try's to keep her to herself when she can, even going out of her way to avoid others at all cost, even her forest friends at times. Preferring to keep to herself she wanders the earth trying to find a better use for herself, and perhaps find more of her kind...which has been to no avail so far. Lonely and confused she continues her search to find other's like her and helping those she deems fit along her endless journey.

I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
I most certainly do. Thank you.

Name You'd Choose for It: Traeh (Tray)
Gender: Female
Reason You Want It: Lately, I've been feeling the urge to write. I've been trying to keep myself from adopting another character just for the sake of it, and the sake of writing, telling myself I have to many already. But after seeing Traeh, all of that effort, that restriction just cracked, like a dam that shattered under the weight of the current it contained. I think of my characters in their own world, with their own feelings and experiences, though now they've all come together to live in harmony in the crevices of my mind, and I have the perfect little niche between two lonely characters' hearts that this pup may be able to live happily until my imagination ceases to flow as strongly as the river that broke my dam up in my head.

Dear Diary,
I know it is late, but I cannot sleep tonight. This afternoon I was taken from my den and separated from my poor brother Aarven. Do you remember my brother? He was tawny colored, with three dark stripes along his back and two blue dots above his eyes. The black dog with the starry markings says he'll have to die, she says he has a disease that makes his mouth foam that they can't cure. She put me in a cage with lots of other animals of all colors around me. I asked her how long I had to be here, all she said was: "You never can tell. You may be adopted within a few days, maybe months. Some have been here nearly a year, I'm not counting." Then she walked away. All they let me keep from our old den was my diary, and I'm scared.

~**~**~

Koti held up two colorful clips.
"Which one do you prefer, Chriss? The green or the pink?"
The green and red dog beside her shrugged, after shaking a blue puppy off her neck, who promptly turned into snail.
"Another clip for you scarf, Koti?"
The white fox threw the clips to the ground and sighed.
"Why do you bother with pups, Chrissy? Why?"
"Go on little ones, your father is calling you," Chrissy whispered to the four pups. Then she turned to Koti.
"I know you don't want to be 'held down' by having pups, but it's really worth-hi Candice!"
A pale Doberman padded over, chuckling as she went.
"So Koti's interested in pups?"
"No! And besides, I don't know anyone I could raise them with."
The two dogs glanced at a green dog, standing silently in his cave. He was staring at pictures of a mother dog and two pups on the cave wall, with tears in his eyes.
"Hojo!?"

Dear Diary,
I found out what day it is today. Maybe someone will adopt me for Valentine's day? Probably not, because the wolf said I have a brain condition that makes it difficult for me to interact with people. But the funny thing is, I can talk to you just fine! I love to write, sometimes I wish I could just write myself a perfect world and live in it forever. I feel like I do that with your sometimes, I just spill everything out onto your pages and wrap myself in them. All of the other creatures in cages seem to have lost hope, and that worries me. Without hope, where would we be?

3:34 PM
February 19

I haven't talked to you in a while, I've mostly drawn pictures in you. Things have been the same here mostly, but yesterday a white fox and a green wolf came in and talked to the starry wolf who works here! They wanted to adopt a puppy! I'm going to try very, very hard not to get my hopes up, but the fox actually smiled at me. I drew a picture of me in a new family.

Name You'd Choose for It: Samantha
Gender: Female

Reason You Want It: I would like to adopt Samantha because I find her design very pleasing. As soon as I saw her, she immediately clicked with me, and I loved her colors and simple but striking design. I have been looking for a character that I could give a snooty personality for a while now, and as soon as I saw Samantha, I knew she'd be perfect for the role I was looking to fill in my charries. I hope my form is good enough to win her, as I would really like to be Samantha's new owner.
History/Background/Other:
I'm not sure whether any of you will even believe me when I say this, but I wasn't always popular and perfect. Though now, I have tons of friends, and EVERYONE knows me, I used to be so unknown, and, like, you know, unpopular. I know you can't believe it. Because I've always been perfect in your eyes *preens*. But, anyway, to get to the point, of course I was always beautiful and stylish, but no one knew, because I lived in a very small....erm, city. It's supposed to be called a village, but I'm much to important to have lived somewhere so obsolete and boring. Sheesh. But, anyway, no one knew I existed, but I knew I would be popular and perfect someday, so I knew I had to go somewhere. So, I didn't want to walk, because then my paws might get dirty, and that is NEVER acceptable. Not ever. Even in desperate measures. So I hitchhiked. No, I'm just kidding. I had to walk. OMG I know, right? I can't believe I had to walk through SWAMPS and RIVERS! I got my paws like, so totally wet and dirty. And my fur was dusty and plastered to my body. It was HORRIBLE. When I arrived, I thought I'd never be able to become popular because of how dirty and gross I was.....it was so, like, EWWWWW..... But then I got washed off and everyone saw how gorgeous and amazing I was. And now, I am the perfect wolf. I am loved by everyone. But you, reader, on the other hand, need to take a bath. You smell DISGUSTING. I can't believe I was able to last long enough to tell my story with THAT stench. How do you survive with that? Hmph. You'll never be as special and beautiful as I am. Maybe in your dreams......but even so, it's still impossible for you.

(XD Please don't take this story personally, I was having lots of fun~
And please don't be insulted or anything)

Musical Snowflake wrote:Pet's ID Tag: 97

Name You'd Choose for It: Fantôme (Henry Peter Lockenburough II)
Gender: Male

Reason You Want It:
I'm a musician, so I'm naturally attracted to designs that have to do with music. Other than that, he is absolutely gorgeous, and as soon as I saw wibeke donate him, I knew I would want to try for him and hopefully win. I've always usually loved more natural/softer colors on characters, and I love that shade of gray; I think it suits him perfectly. Also, even though he's naturally colored, he has distinguishing marks to make him special. I would love becoming his permanent owner and lavishing him with love and art. Finally, he's one of those characters that I could tell I could write a story about. Most of the time, even with characters whose designs I like, I have to search around for a story. This time a plot evolved in my mind right away, even though the end result was extremely different than what I had in mind at first.

History/Background/Other:
General Information
Birth Name: Henry Peter Lockenburough II
Self-Chosen/New Name: Fantôme
Gender: Male
Species: Mutt (Breeds not definite, but he has some border-collie in him)
Age: 15
Birthday: August 22, 1995

Personality
Fantôme grew up to be extremely antisocial, since he hates being the little rich boy hanging with all the other little rich kids; he thinks most of them are snobby, arrogant, and frivolous. However, he can be very charming at times, and, if he had grown up in a different background, who knows? He might've been popular. The only things he like are reading and doing things that have to do with music. But since he's only recently been introduced to music he likes, he's spent most of his time just reading, and as a result, he's very well-informed.

Background (3rd Person and Anthro)
Henry Peter Lockenburough II was born into a rich, important, and old family. And he hated it (and his stupid name, for that matter). Always so stuffy and proper there, he longed to be rid of his nagging, overprotective parents and their great expectations, even though he knew they meant him no harm. Always so trapped there, under his parents' watchful eyes, he never really learned how to socialize with others (and as a result turned crabby), although he always had a natural, hidden ability to charm. So, eventually, when he could take it no longer, after 10 years of torture, he hid in his room with all his books, the one place where he could lock everything and everyone else out. He was like a ghost, only appearing for brief moments when he was required to. Always so unhappy there, even in his private haven he never really learned how to love anyone or anything or how to find enjoyment out of life. Until he found it. Music. Beautiful music. He had never heard anything like it. The only music he had ever heard was scratchy pop music singing from his mother. But this was different. A lilting melody outside his window that appeared out of nowhere, one day. And for the first time in five years, he pulled back the curtain on his window. Gently, a little afraid. Actually, more than a little afraid. Very afraid. Afraid of the outside, afraid of what he might see. He couldn't really remember what it was like on the outside...

Background (1st Person and Anthro)
I felt a cold draft as I settled into my reading chair. Scowling, I looked for the source of it. 'The walls? No. The ceiling? No. The windows? Ah, it must be the windows. The curtains are waving gently, after all. Idiotic maid. She should know better than to leave the window open. What does she think? That maybe it would attract me out of my room? Fat chance. I've been here five years already; I can stand it as long as I have to. Until I come of age and am able to withdraw from my savings account, I can stand it here. In fact, I think I like it here in my room. Although I'm not sure I've ever really liked anything. At least it's better than being in the reach of my parents,' I think to myself as I head over to the window. As I prepare to shut it close, however, I hear something. It's a little muted, and seems like it's coming from the outside. But that doesn't diminish its beauty. I stand there for a couple of minutes, entranced by it. It seems to be music, even though it's so different from what my mother considers "music." As I stand there, a sudden impulse comes over me. I need to look outside the window. I need to see where the music is coming from. I need to, I need to, I need to. I reach to grab and pull the curtain back, but then the fear kicks in. Is it scary out there? I can't really remember... I don't even know the date, or the season. The days have blurred for me.... I steel myself, nonetheless, and tremulously pull back the curtain. My adrenaline rushing, I nervously look outside. Shocked, I realize it's snowing. That must mean it's winter... When's the last time I saw snow? Or, for that matter, a flower? How much have I missed by locking myself in my room for however many years? These thoughts distract me, and when I recall my purpose for even drawing the curtain back, I realize that the music has disappeared. I shut the window closed, in an even fouler mood than before now the the music has left, and stalked back to my book.

That wondrous sound was buried deep in the back of my mind after I didn't hear anything like it from outside the window for a couple of months. It was always a background thought, left for my subconscious to ponder. But the music did come again. By now it was spring, and I kept my window open by just a crack, always hoping I would hear it. My hopes were fulfilled one lovely warm day, and this time, I caught a glimpse of the player. She was the most beautiful thing my eyes had ever beheld, practicing in what I assumed to be her room, her window open as well, allowing the crooning melody to drift from her instrument to my waiting ears. A sudden urge overtook me, just like on that last snowy day. But this time, it was more drastic. I was going to leave my room, the mansion, willingly. However, I didn't want my parents or the maid to notice. Locking the door, I heaved the window up so I could fit through. Clamboring out onto the overhang, I gazed down and my stomach dropped. It appeared to be such a large distance from the overhang to the ground. I was still not exactly myself, though, and the music was calling me. My adrenaline rushing, I gathered my courage and leaped off. I didn't land exactly gracefully, I must admit. In fact, I didn't land gracefully at all; there was a large, obvious thump as I hit the ground, belly first. The girl must've noticed it, for she jumped a little and turned around. Her mouth formed a round "o" as she noticed me, sprawled on the grass. She carefully set her instrument down (I think it was a cello), and rushed out of my sight. A couple minutes later, she appeared beside me, offering her hand to me. I took it and unsteadily rose, my head still dazed.

"Are you okay?" she asked, concerned.

"F-f-fine," I responded, my voice shaking.

Apparently that reassured her enough, for she continued to broach another topic. "You must live in Lockenburough Mansion, since it looks as if you dropped from up there...." She motioned towards the open window. "I didn't know there was anyone my age living there. What's your name?"

I paused for a second, my thoughts racing. I hated my name; I thought it was embarassing. Although, what did the French maid call me from time to time? Phantom? No... It was more foreign-sounding. Fantom? Not that either... Oh! "Fantôme."

"Your name is French too?"

"Yup. Wait so then what's yours?"

"Clair de Lune. But everyone calls me Clair, since Clair de Lune is sort of a mouthful." She shifted uncomfortably, as she was a bit embarassed. 'Clair and Fantôme,' I thought absentmindedly. 'They don't sound bad together.'

"I should get going... My parents are probably wondering where I am," she stated awkwardly, after a long pause.

"Me too," I responded. As she started to leave, I suddenly blurted, "You play beautifully, by the way." I blushed like an idiot.

Brightening considerably, she responded with, "Thanks! Do you play at all?"

"No. Music isn't a big part of my life, or my family's..."

"Really? Maybe you could come over one day and I could show you hot to play," she invited demurely. I nodded, like an idiot of course. "Now I really need to get going. Bye!" I watched her skip happily away, with a large grin on my face. Then I started to head home, and realized that I would need to scale the wall to avoid detection...

I held her to her invitation, and randomly showed up on her doorstep one day. Luckily, she was the one who answered it, and invited me in. She brought me up to her room, and taught me the secrets of reading music, playing music, feeling music, embodying music. It was fairly easy for me to learn; the music spoke to me, and she told me I was a natural. And so it went on for a while like this, she playing the part of the omniscient teacher, and I the eager pupil. During this time, our friendship blossomed and we found we could talk to each other about everything. I was perfectly content with things the way they were. My parents were ignorant of our friendship, and hers didn't really care. But then, one day, she met me during the evening with tears streaking her face.

"My parents say being a musician isn't a proper job," she told me in despair. "It's all I've ever wanted to do; all I've ever liked doing. All I've ever known." I comforted her to the best of my ability, not really knowing what to say. Her face suddenly lit up. "I know! We could run off into the moonlight together. We can travel the world together, playing on the streets. Or maybe we could get into a professional orchestra."

"How do you know we're good enough to do that?"

She paused, hesitantly. "Well... I hate admitting this, but you have much more potential than I have. It's taken you a couple months for you to get where I was after a couple of years. You could get professional traning, and everything if you left."

I pretended to think about it, but already knew my answer. "Okay." I could never say no to her, after all.

Background (Third-Person and Anthro)
Taking only a few minutes to pack necessary belongings, they fled off into the night, running and laughing with exhilaration, adrenaline running through their veins. They knew it was a reckless thing to do, and that they might end up back here, pleading to their parents for mercy and forgiveness. But, for the first time, they were truly breaking the rules. After all, Fantôme's parents' only request was that he stay near the mansion and stay away from the riffraff. He was excited to finally see the world; he had only ever read about it in books. And he was with Clair. That's all he needed. And Clair was with him. That's all she needed. Along with their instruments, they continued in no set direction, awaiting what was to come.

Third-Person Poetry
Gently plucked strings, weaving their delicate harmonies
Carefully bowed melodies, creating their trance
The power to drive creatures mad, or to bring ease to pain
The power to draw anyone close, and ensnare him in its beautiful trap
The power of music
The power of lilting tunes
Enough to send the phantom and the moonlight into a frenzy
Enough to send the phantom and the moonlight into uncharted lands

Fun Facts
- I came up with his name because I was thinking of Phantom of the Opera, and thought that "phantom" in French would be a nice name for him.
- His birthday is the same as Debussy's (other than the year xD).
- Clair de lune is a piece composed by Debussy, based on a Paul Verlaine poem, and is part of Suite Bergamasque.
- At first, I was planning to write him as a mysterious, travelling loner, but the story somehow evolved into this. xD (Hmm... An alternate story would be interesting...)
- What will happen to them? I don't know, that's for sure. *pathetic attempt at cliffhanger*
- Clair de Lune is not a real character, but if I got Fantôme, I would definitely get someone to try and design her.
