Betta /ˈbɛtə/ is a large genus of small, often colorful, freshwater ray-finned fishes in the gourami family (Osphronemidae). By far the best known Betta species, however, is B. splendens, commonly known as the Siamese fighting fish. 🌐

You're taking a stroll through the local plaza, killing time window-shopping at whatever perks your interest. Clothes, games, cute people... You pause when you see what seems to be a pet store. It was the shop that was under construction a week ago, now fully decorated with a sea theme. Out of curiosity you decide to enter the quaint little place, and you're soon entranced by the flowing fins of the fish they sell. Carefully you pick up a cup to examine the fish inside, the betta seems a bit ruffled by this move. Someone taps on your shoulder, a staff member it looks like.
"Welcome to Bubbley Bettas! I see you're interested in that one! Do you want me to check it out for you?"

The betta fish found at Bubbley Bettas are closely related to the popular B. splendens variety! These bettas show many different variations in color and finnage, with tail types varying extensively. Certain types are particularly rare, and may not even breed true! However, unlike real-life B. splendens, these bettas live for as long as you care for them, the females are somewhat more vibrant, and their colors breed somewhat unpredictably. Also, these ones tend to venture out of realism somewhat frequently... Beneath are examples of the betta tail types recorded at Bubbley Bettas, for your reference!

Also, do note that some bettas may carry an additional trait called Dumbo-- this simply makes its pectoral, or 'arm fins' larger.

Every few days to a week, Bubbley Bettas receives a shipment of low price bettas! You can adopt 1 of these fish per week for free, 2 if you're a new member. Adopting any additional weekly bettas will run you 15 Sanddollars per extra fish. Requests for these bettas go on a first come, first serve basis- So if you find a real looker, act fast!

This here is the betta store, where the pricier, and usually fancier fish go. Usually our stock cycles bi-weekly to monthly, but we order a new supply right away whenever we're run out. None of these fish are free, and have variable prices. What currency do we use, you ask? Here at Bubbley Bettas, we accept payments in Sandollars and Seacharms! 50 Sanddollars are equivalent to 1 Seacharm, and we automatically convert them for you! The conversion rate from Chickensmoothie to Bubbley Bettas can be found in the chart far below.

Did you know that breeding betta fish is a risky business? On one hand, you can get quite a few free fish, but the betta fry are very fragile and require specialized care. Not only that, but anything could happen to the mother betta when she's placed with a male-- he might even kill her!
Here at Bubbley Bettas, we care about the well-being of your fish and understand the potential dangers of breeding them yourself. So, we offer betta breeding services here at the store! Read below for more info!

We have 3 sets of breeding and fry tanks in the back of our store. With a payment of 2 Seacharms we will breed two of your fish (male and female) for you! We guarantee no damage to your prized pets, and you will receive 5 betta fish, once they have matured to a suitable age. The other viable fry may be placed into our free betta adoptions or our Sanddollar store, depending on the quality of the young.

Though we often order betta fish batches with just a loose theme in mind, occasionally we may search exclusive fish sellers that have some of the most downright gorgeous fish we've ever seen! Usually these stunners aren't in the main stock as they tend to be rather pricey to obtain. However, perhaps we can give you an exception...

We can do custom betta orders here at Bubbley Bettas, though we have a few guidelines about doing so.

We ask that you give us a specific, detailed description or a picture of the fish you're looking at having,
The patience for us to complete your order and for your betta to arrive,
The understanding that we can make mistakes (and the maturity to politely ask us to review and redo your order),
And finally, a base payment of 3 Seacharms . Extra details, such as a container, may either have to be rejected or be priced extra.
Also, if you want a specific artist to work on your fish, do mention it, otherwise the order will go to whoever feels fit to complete it at that given time.

I'm glad to see you're interested in our fish! Whenever you participate at our store, we will offer you a Bubbley Bettas membership! This is so that we can keep track of our currency, and so that we can check up routinely on your bettas to be sure they are happy and healthy.
