Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

Quilting and cobwebs!
I associate both with autumn. c:
Cobwebs and spiders are Halloween like, and quilting... seems very... autumnal. Why is that? Huh.

This is frankly one of the oddest designs I have done in awhile, hope it looks ok aha. cx
You may post contest suggestions if you want I have a vague idea of one but eeeehhh.

The design w/o the scarf thing.

EDITS:
Custom Ears (uncommon)
Hair Edit (common)
Extra Fluff (common)
Custom shine (standard)

CONTEST INFO:
Sorry for the short wait on this. c:
But thank you for the suggestions, I took them into account plus my original idea and here's the contest.
For this contest, we'll go with a sort of "memory quilt" theme, along with some of the "prompts" some of you suggested.
I'd like to know a fear they have, or overcame, a dream they achieved, or how it changed and they achieved something else through it, autumn tradition they developed overtime, where they got their neckerchief and finally, a memory quilt they made, including some of the elements aforementioned.

Further details are on the form's coding, read over them. c:

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Username: ~Scarlett~
Name: Sabrina
Gender: Female

A Fear: [110 Words]
Sabrina is terrified of vacuums. Like, deathly afraid. Nobody but her really knows why she's afraid of them, but she calls them "evil beasts" and "death machines". Her fear of vacuums is often a laughing matter for other Kalons, but you'd better not make fun of it in front of her or she'll claw you. Sabrina avoids vacuums at all costs, and heaven forbid she be around one that's turned on. In case you're wondering what would happen if you pushed a vacuum at her, it's happened before and resulted in one destroyed couch, sore eardrums, and one kalon who learned an important lesson that day: don't mess with Sabrina.

A Dream: [576 words]
As a young Kalon, Sabrina had the biggest crush ever on a handsome Kalon named Ash. She absolutely obsessed over him, fangirling and going out of her way to see him. Ash liked her okay as a friend, but he didn't have romantic feelings towards Sabrina. Although common sense told Sabrina that he probably didn't have a crush on her, but she ignored that and kept hoping that his feelings would change. Her biggest wish, her biggest dream, was that she and Ash could get together. One day, he crushed her dream.
~~~
Sabrina padded through the school hallways, automatically glancing around for Ash, her crush. Not seeing him, she trotted around the halls, dodging other students and keeping her senses alert for Ash. Finally, she thought she scented him, and quickly followed the trail, which led to a small classroom that was rarely ever used. She slowly cracked open the door and peeked in. Her heart dropped to her paws. Ash was kissing Brooke, one of the popular girls. Quietly, she closed the door and fled to the bathroom, locking herself in one of the stalls, and started to cry. Though she was deeply hurt, Sabrina decided that it must be a mistake, and marched out, planning on confronting Ash.
She found him in the hall, waiting for a class to start. Heart pounding, she approached him and took a deep breath.
"I saw you kissing Brooke." she told him boldly.
His eyes widened a fraction, but he recovered quickly. "Yea, so?"
Sabrina hesitated, "I thought-I thought that we could maybe-maybe be a thing?"
Ash stared at her. "What? Sorry, you're a nice gal but don't love you like that."
Sabrina blinked, holding back tears, "But-I thought-"
"Sorry, Sabrina. But, no-just, no." Ash shook his head for emphasis, turned, and sauntered off. Brooke spotted him and rushed over, purring and rubbing against him.
Sabrina stared after him, not bothering to hold back the tears. Her heart felt like it had broken into a million pieces. What had she ever done to deserve this? Pushing past staring students, she stormed out the door and sprinted home, pounding up the stairs and flying into her room, slamming the door behind her with a loud crash.
~~~
Sabrina cried for days. She avoided Ash as much as possible, didn't speak to him, didn't even look at him- though she couldn't help a few peeks (she still had a crush on him, after all). She became depressed and didn't eat well. After a few weeks of this, Sabrina met a Kalon named Hayden, new at school. Hayden quickly befriended Sabrina, sensing that she needed help. Sabrina slowly began to get over her heartbreak, and started being happy again. Hayden came over to her house every day, held her while she cried, listened to her rants, made corny jokes to make her laugh. He soon fell in love, but didn't confess his feelings as he didn't want to make their friendship awkward. Though he tried to hide it, Sabrina caught on pretty quickly but didn't say anything- though she kinda liked him too. Soon, Hayden couldn't keep his 'secret' any longer, and told Sabrina, who told him that she felt the same way. The two decided not to go further with their relationship until they were older, however, and just continued being best friends. Sabrina now realized that she didn't care one bit about Ash anymore, and that honestly, he wouldn't have been a good influence to her like Hayden was. She had found a new dream.

A Tradition: [300 words]
Being a very creative Kalon, Sabrina wanted to create a tradition for autumn. One day, she created one by accident.
"Mom, where did the painting in my room go?" Sabrina stormed into the kitchen, glaring at her mother, who was baking a pie. Her mom winced. "Sorry, honey, we donated it to the children's center for charity- your father was determined to help somehow, and the children at the center love art," she explained. Sabrina huffed. She was less upset now that she knew where it had gone, but she was still sad of her loss-the painting was by one of her favorite artists.

Suddenly, she had an idea. "Hey mom...do we have any paint?" Her mother looked a little surprised but nodded. "Yes, I think we still have some up in the attic. Rushing upstairs, Sabrina found the paints and snatched some brushes and a large canvas and got to work downstairs on the kitchen table. She worked at her painting for hours, glancing out the window every couple minutes to make sure she was getting the colors right. A few times, she growled in frustration, and threw her brush in the air, but she kept going at it, determined to make it look right.

Eventually, it was finished. Sabrina admired her art piece, gazing at the swoops and swirls of paint. Her picture was of the gorgeous trees in her backyard, bright with fall colors. Amber, bronze, sunny yellows, deep maroon, plum purple, and many other colors swirled together in her painting. Sabrina knew it wasn't the best she could do, so she decided that she would practice all year until next autumn- and then paint the same scene again. She would re-do it every year, and improve every time. She had created her own, special, artistic tradition.

The Neckerchief: [252 Words]
Sabrina used to be afraid of spiders, which is ironic because of her fur designs. She hated them. One day-the same day Sabrina started her painting tradition, she ventured up into the attic to find paint and painting tools. Sabrina didn't go up into the attic often- it was common to find lots of spiders there. Sabrina climbed up the ladder to the attic, sneezing when she got a mouthful of dust. Sabrina glanced around, hoping to find the paints and get out of there. Unfortunately, she had to open lots of boxes before she found them.
Triumphant, she picked up the box and was about to head downstairs when she saw a huge, hairy, spider on the ladder. She screamed and dropped the paint box, sprinting to the other side of the attic. Slowly walking back towards it, she noticed a trail of small spiders leading deeper into the attic. Curious, she pushed down her fear and followed the line. They led to a faded, dusty... neckerchief? Forgetting about the spiders, Sabrina walked towards it and picked it up, shaking off dust, and put it on, admiring herself in an old mirror. Feeling a tickle on her paws, Sabrina glanced down and saw that some spiders were scuttling over her paws. For some reason, Sabrina wasn't afraid. The spiders had led her to this neckerchief, and it made her feel brave.

To this day, Sabrina rarely takes her neckerchief off- it reminds her of the day she conquered her worst fear.
(Now she's afraid of vacuums :'D )

The Quilt: [851 Words]
"Happy Birthday to you!" Sabrina's family and friends sang, smiling at the birthday girl. Sabrina, grinning, thanked them, and blew out the candles on her cake. Sixteen candles.
Her friend Hayden was still grinning. What was he up to? "Sabrina, we've been working on something for you," her mom chided, a big smile on her face too. "What is is?" They knew that Sabrina couldn't stand waiting. Hayden skipped out of the room, a couple of Sabrina's other friends following him. He poked his head back around the corner. "Close your eyes," he instructed and Sabrina did so, fidgeting excitedly. She heard the group set something down in front of her, and she resisted the urge to peek.
"Ok, open your eyes!"
Sabrina gasped at the beautiful quilt lain out in front of her. At first glance, she thought that is was just patterned, but as she looked closer, she realized that they were...scenes. Scenes from her life.
Excited, she searched the quilt, smiling at each memory.

A white square caught her eye and she focused on it, smiling as she saw a scene with her 2-year-old self, giggling as a snowflake touched her tongue for the first time. It was her first experience with snow.

Sabrina shivered in the snow, but ignored it as she bounced up and down with excitement, watching the soft snow floating down from the sky. She stuck out her tongue and giggled hysterically as one landed on her tongue and melted. She stuck her tongue out again, licking up the tiny snowflakes and watching her warm breath cloud the air.

She smiled as she found a picture of her learning how to ride a bike, wobbly and nervous, her parents close by in case she started to fall.

Five years old, Sabrina shook from head to toe as she balanced precariously on her bike, gripping tightly to the handlebars. Her parents hovered next to her, encouraging her and right there in case she fell or lost her balance. Determined, she pushed down on the pedals and the bike moved a few feet. More confident now, she pedaled harder and sailed (well, sort of) past her parents.

Sabrina spotted a picture of her at the beach, a goofy smile on her face, holding something that looked like a sand dollar.

An 8-year old Sabrina sprinted across the white sand of a beach, carefully holding something in her mouth. She came to stop in front of her mother, panting, and cradled a sand dollar in her paws, thrusting her treasure towards her mom. "Mom! Mom! Look what I found!"

The quilt block next to it showed Sabrina, now 11, in the attic holding her neckerchief, smirking at the spiders next to her.

Holding her newly found neckerchief, Sabrina looked around at the spiders and grinned. They didn't scare her anymore.

Her eyes drifted over to a bright scene depicting herself riding a roller coaster, mouth open wide in a scream of terror and delight.

A 13-year old Sabrina screamed at the top of her lungs, the wind rushing in and making her mouth dry. The roller coaster made a swift turn, and Sabrina yelped in delight as it rushed down a steep decline, and high-fived her best friend in the seat next to her as the ride slowed to a stop.

Another scene portrayed her and Hayden climbing a tree, bright with autumn leaves.

Sabrina and Hayden, both 14, raced each other to the top of a maple tree, panting hard and pulling on the other's tail to slow them down. After pushing Hayden out of the way, Sabrina launched herself to the top of the tree, letting out a triumphant yowl. "Ha, I win, you slowpoke!" Hayden pulled himself up next to her, laughing. "Fine, but next time i'll beat you!"

Sabrina felt her eyes tearing up as she looked at another square, reliving the memory in her head. It had only been from a year ago, shortly after her 15th birthday.

Sabrina stood in the damp, cold graveyard, placing a bouquet on top of a gravestone. She didn't hold the tears back, and stood, sobbing over her best friend's grave, for a couple minutes. Her father walked over to her and put his arm around her, hugging her close. "It'll be okay," he whispered. Sabrina nodded, letting him lead her away from the grave. She glanced back, promising herself that she would never forget about her friend.

Sabrina looked up from the quilt, sad and happy at the same time. "Thank you...thank you so much."
Hayden grinned and hugged her. "I wasn't sure if we should have added the one with the grave, but I thought you'd appreciate her memory," he said cautiously. Sabrina nodded. "Yes, I do. The whole quilt is just... it's beautiful!" Her family and friends grinned. "I take it you all helped?" she asked, and everyone nodded.
"Thanks again, you guys. This means a lot to me."

That turned out to be Sabrina's favorite present she had ever received, and she would keep that quilt for the rest of her life.
