What was the last line you wrote before coming online? (If you actually wrote anything lately!)
Ummm I can't post it, cuz ya know, I haven't written anything lol.

In other news, I have writer's block. I've don't almost nothing for NaNo. Help. What is writing, again? Progress? What's that?

Associating with Marcel brought prestige, but it also brought shifting social sands to struggle through, never knowing whose intentions were honest and who desired an alliance solely for the power she would inherit.

Hey look its something decent

Once, a child dreamed of joining the stars

... Cheating, because it's poetry. And I wrote it while online. Eh.

@Møriarty x.
Not sure if you were being serious when asking for help, but what I do when I have writer's block is to start out by writing a summary of what happens next. Usually, my writer's block manifests as just a hatred of a few scenes, so I just skip to one I'm enthusiastic about (or at least am semi-capable of writing), and go back to bridge the gap between them later.

If I flat-out can't write any scene at all, and it's on a deadline, then quality be damned. I read the summary, and gradually flesh out everything that happens in it, no matter how much the detailed version sucks. I can proofread later, if it's that bad. eg. If the summary says "He was tired, but still he ran to the stone and pulled out the sword", I start by being more detailed about the first few words. Like, instead of saying he was tired but ran to the stone: "His heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest; every inch of him shrieked in protest as he lunged forward, feet smashing hard and fast against the ground." yes, that was badly written, but it's better than nothing.

That strategy doesn't work with everyone, admittedly, so if that doesn't work, try listening to music, re-reading your favourite book, or taking a walk.
I'm socially awkward and sometimes terse - don't mind me.

Well, it isn't for nano, but it was this: "With a wide yawn, he flipped over and fell asleep." So creative right?

@Piefan- Nice strategy! I should try skipping over my stuck scene for nano...

@Act'Tar- Welcome! Stay away from carrots! As for your problem, I personally have some sort of paper or my phone with me at all times in case I get an idea. Middle of English class? Write it down. Inspiration strikes at midnight? Write it down. Always write down your ideas somewhere. If you don't have paper or a phone with you, use your arm XD

So yesterday I got a bunch of writing inspiration, but not for my nano story. So I started a new thing. I have no idea what's going on so far, I've barely planned anything, but it involves the end of the world and zeppelins.

What was the last line you wrote before coming online? (If you actually wrote anything lately!)
"Getting inside the ship sounds great right now, but it's taking most of my focus to simply hold on, there's no way I could adjust my knots to be able to move."

SilverCrescentMoon wrote:Yay! Glad that link could help somehow or another XD

@Wild- Ooh I really like that. If you write more, I'd love to read it!

I wrote the next chapter of New Blood! It's not nano, but at least I'm writing haha. I also have another idea for a superhero story (not the one I wrote a while back) and it's super hard to come up with creative powers/abilities. Everything's already been done it seems.

Superpowers are hard. In my opinion, there's two (and a half) good ways to go about them:

1) Something entirely new. Just make up a power nobody's ever used before. This is generally pretty difficult to do, and leads to some very weird powers. However, if you succeed at it, this can be really, really, awesome.

2a) Oldies are goodies... Sometimes, it's easier to just use simple common powers. This is good for more character-driven stuff, as it takes a lot more time to explain an original power than it does to just say 'super-speed' or 'empathy.'

2b) ...With a twist It can be even more fun to take a traditional power, and change it just a little to make something new and interesting, but not too weird. (Example: A character has the ability to turn invisible - but they're naturally invisible and have to focus to be seen)

That was awesome.

@Piefan I was actually joking about help, but I appreciate it anyways XD
I can't really skip scenes (I can't connect them when I do), so I write random scenes that I can't use in the main story, but I don't know what I wanna write.

Not counting the massive editing? :Time moved on, and a halfling grew into a fierce protector, chasing a dream of peace and safety with the strongest heart determined to find the light in the dark. So goes the story of old. Though I just got a new prompt, so more writing will probably happen tonight.

Uhh okay so I can't remember which one I wrote last?? So Imma post both xD

"In fact, I estimate that it will take her one year to get off the ground and pursue us."

"It exploded upon impact and everything in our immediate surroundings burst into flames as red as the glowering moon high above hiding its face once again."

---

When I read that last sentence I feel like I need to go edit it now >.>

Also, Welcome Act'Tar with the very Canadian avatar and a name slightly similar to mine! Like they said, don't touch or eat carrots, you could die D:
you did well, Jonghyun.
