But I have a quick question on customs--
I'm a bit hesitant to order one because I usually don't order my characters with art outside of their original species(let alone a made up ones). Would you, if I picked a few colors, maybe just do a random design incorporating the colors? Or should I just wait for an adoptable design to come along that I like?

That is perfectly fine :3

LupusArgentea's Pawlet was done exactly the same way :3 Just fill the reference area of the form with any specifications you would like (i.e colors, certain design markings, etc)
