Due to school and rock climbing taking up a lot of my time in general, I'm going to be having to make some 'budget cuts', so to speak, for Opalescent Owls. I would like to close up the leaderboard system as well as the breeding portion of the trading and breeding center. This is due to the fact that maintaining all of these threads is quite tedious on my part and I really don't have all that time to spare. It's also because these threads go mostly unused anyway, and I don't think that they're very enjoyable or a large part of Opalescent Owls anyway.

I also have a bit of a change in mind for the adventures here at Opalescent Owls. I know that they are loved by many people, but they aren't running how I want them to. When I first created the system in summer, I wasn't accounting for the fact that school would hinder my ability to log onto CS and update the adventure rewards daily. However, I do understand that completely eradicating adventures would greatly upset a lot of people, so I am by no means going to do that. So instead, I'm thinking it would be better for everyone if adventuring was more of a grab-bag type thing, where you can still do it once a month, but instead of it lasting a week, I simply give you the prizes all at once. This would not change the amount of prizes that you get, and I really don't see any downside to changing this except that it will probably mean that the adventure locations such as Smalls Isle and Frosted Mountain would no longer be a part of Opalescent Owls. This is subject to change though, as I do have an idea for these locations, which you will read about later.
Another change for adventures that I'm thinking of is creating a new thread for them, because they do take up quite a bit of space. However, this decision is not finalized because I believe I have asked before, and most have been in favor of the adventures staying on the main thread.

This part isn't as much a change as it is an announcement, but I'm going to try to implement a new system where customs will be open every weekend. This will make things easier and less stressful on all of the artists' parts, I think, because it will create less of a bombardment of customs during the weekdays when I'm busy with school and unable to close customs. I may have to close customs on some weekends though, if we do have a large amount of unfinished ones when the next weekend comes by.
I'm also going to limit customs to one per person per weekend, since large orders often cause difficulty on our part.

The last part of this announcement that I'm thinking about is making more litter owls, and giving each of those owls 'stats'. Said stats will include things such as, but not limited to: flying stamina, amount of tricks per minute (TPM), eyesight, and musical talent. I'll convert the old leaderboards thread into a new competition thread, and hold a competition every week. The competitions will be of the specific stats stated before; for example there could be a flying competition, or an eyesight competition. Your owl's stat levels would determine how many times per page you could enter into the competition, and the winner would be chosen with a raffle. Prizes for each competition would vary.
I'd also create a shop where potions or elixirs of some sort could be used to raise your owl's stats, though I would make these quite pricy. These could be used on custom owls, which start with all of their stat levels at zero, however it would be a better idea to use them on litter owls, which already come with higher stats.
Litter (and all other) owls obtained before this update, if I do go through with it, will have all of their stats at zero.

Anyway, this is a lot of information, but I'm putting a new poll up so that I can hear what you all think about this. Please try to keep in mind while voting that if you don't care much about something like the leaderboards, I would much rather have you vote for it to close than to keep it open just because you might want to do it someday, as keeping things like open that really is a big hassle for me. Just a note that I currently do not have any claimed customs atm, I've been super busy with school & projects and end of trimester exams are coming up soon as well. I did claim Meep's custom but Smartyk took that so I'm perfectly okay with it. I'll see if I can claim other things but right now I have to focus on other priorities c:
