yeah; good question. I'm not about to wait three months to have one breeding.

This isn't the first time we've closed the nursery early, and won't be the last. If you read on the front page (of either the nursery or somewhere on the regular page) we close down the nursery 1 week before any event starts and have taken to doing this practice since before the Summer Event to allot artists the time to properly work on the Event Pets. We answered the same questions last time we shut down the Nursery early, and to answer the question, no, the nursery doesn't cease even when we close it. It just gives us time to play catch up and get more batches done without new ones occurring. Batches will continue to be done until we have either caught up or the nursery reopens on Nov. 2nd (this is pending nothing comes up between now and then of course.)

That being said, the quickness of the batches being completed has more to do with who has the time to make, create, and post a batch. Considering 100% of our staff has lives and other things to do, viscets just being a side hobby, the time we allot really depends more on our RL issues. Though if I can be frank, the patience and overall attitude of the requester towards the staff does play some part in all this as well. So basically the more patient, understanding, and kind you are to the staff - the sooner we can find time to make/finish batches. As we are doing this for free, and are not required to do this at all. If not for the gracious staffing of the nursery - there would be no batches at all.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them. Though I would suggest keeping it more question oriented and less passive aggressive in the future. Thank you.

I understand that life can certainly be busy, I'm simply wondering if any of you guys know the user and if they said anything about being very busy, and they have an estimate of when they will return? I'm not trying to rush anyone, I just am wondering if any of the staff have more information on the state of my breeding for me!

Thanks again, can't wait for the event! (I found viscets though last year's Halloween event!)

The queue lists/shows when a batch has been picked up and by who.
all you need to do is look, and then politely pm the artist to ask if you feel it's necessary to do so.
however, as was just stated in the above post - many/most of the artists have been very busy. And planning the event takes a lot of time and effort. so that in itself is most of the answer to your question. As for estimated times, we are not required to give that and most of the time cannot because life is life. I'm sorry but waiting is about all that can be done. There are only so many nursery artists and the batch requests out number us by five to one out of the active nursery artists right now.

The bolded ones on the nursery are the ones that are the oldest at the current moment---yes
but since there are only about 4 left in the queue I don't really see why this was brought up publicly rather than simply pming a nursery artist to ask?

^ right there is your request and I can tell you right now why it's not been picked up yet and I'll be frank,
you want 2 pelt potions-- and most artists dislike pelt potions as they are extremely restricting.
and us artists for batches, since we're doing this 90% for free (and c$ is barely pennies for the mutations mind you) we quite enjoy our freedom to do how we please with combining the colors and design. to be fair your batch is also not an easy color scheme to mesh either, being as there is green, red, pink and black. a lot of the artists have been busy with the event thread as well but the artists currently working on batches are again doing this in the free time they have. It does take time to make these batches and since the staff are people with lives too it's our free time we allot to making these batches for people. Each batch takes roughly 2 hours minimum to create (this is in general), the more mutations, complex designs or difficult to mesh colors adds on time. Not to mention the difficulty of the finicky oekaki-- so there's a lot that can go wrong or take a long time. The staff appreciates the patience in general as we continue to strive to complete all the current batches and keep things running smoothly. If you have any more questions feel free to pm any member of staff, if they cannot answer your question then they will ask the other staff to get a solid answer for you. c: hope this has cleared some things up.

also traits are not "requestable" to not be passed down. it's a matter of chance and roll -- my best suggestion if you don't want a trait passed down then don't breed it as the chances for a direct rare inheritance are 1 in 4 roughly.

Woah I just noticed all this a bit ago, May I ask why others are being taken before the ones that are bolded? Or is that not an actual rule? I saw that it said steampunkalec's was complicated but as the other user has said theirs has no mutations. I am not suggesting that they are rushing but simply asking for clarification on this:

please stop spamming the nursery

we have answered anyone who has posted on here either publicly or via pm to speak to their concerns.
if you're not part of the issue, please do not spam this official thread by inserting yourself in matters that have already been addressed or settled in some manner.

• further more - we have repeatedly said if you have an issue, a grievance or a question to pm an active member of staff.
  
  this is key, beyond this if you do not follow that then you may be subject to a warning or a potential strike.
• as for when a batch will be finished - it is up to the artist who choses/claims it. If it hasn't been claimed then continue to be patient it will at some point.
  
  please do not pm any artist who has claimed a batch of yours (or anyone's for that matter) asking when it'll be completed before a complete 30 days of having claimed the batch. Otherwise it is considered harassment and again you may be subject to a warning or strike.

Asking simple questions is fine, curiosity is fine, but blatantly ignoring what a staff member has said and posted on numerous occasions (e.g.: pm a staff member rather than spamming this thread) is not okay.

and to add - because I know it'll be asked -- the nursery is not open as of yet.
and tbh at this rate many of the staff believe it might be in the best interest of the staff for it to remain closed for a short while longer. So unless a staff member explicitly states that the nursery is open for the "month" then it is not.
