Orion is only a little like you. He may be popular, or he may not, but no matter what he's impossible to ignore; he stands out... just the way you always wanted to. You may have let yourself get a little too close to Orion. Maybe he's you as you wish you were, or maybe you're just afraid no one will like him and are trying to give him a free ride. Have some confidence in your writing! Orion is a good character. Give him room to be himself before you stifle him.

Well, huh. I don't really know about him standing out because of his personality, and I'm not even sure if he would 'cause of his hair color (it's white, and white hair isn't really all that uncommon in Griff's world), but he would stand out 'cause of his height, I think.

ok I came up with a scary story randomly. I haven't actually written a scary story in my life and, i'm scared of scary stories x3:


I sat alone in my dressing room preparing for the next performance, I watched as the twitter feeds flew by on my phone. I couldn't help but smile almost. Suddenly, the phone started shaking. A incoming call? I picked it up and answered the caller.
"Hello?" I said, I wonder who it could have been. It was a unknown caller.
I waited a few seconds, but no one was there. Maybe they butt-dialed me? All I heard was static, "Oh well". And I put my phone down to continue putting my makeup on.
But then
There was another call. I picked it up.
"Hello?"
"He-lp!" I heard a squeaky voice being covered in fright of the static.
"Excuse me? Is this a prank?" I said in a serious tone, suddenly the voice from outside the door said,
"10 more minutes till curtain!" And he faded. I didn't have time to deal with whoever was trying to prank me.
"I've had enough". And I hung up the call.
Suddenly. I got a tweet, and it read:
"Shouldn't have hung-up the phone". And my screen went randomly black. I was about half way to the stage but then I realized I forgot my hairband and went back to grab it, and when I arrived. I found the placed trashed, and on the mirror where I did my makeup written in lipstick or... is that blood?
"hang-up".

Meriddean is suspiciously similar to you as you'd like to be. He is so impossibly hip that he has difficulty seeing over his own pelvis; he'll probably die young, but damn, will it have been a good life. He may have sometimes thought that he was special, or destined for greater things, but probably dismissed the idea as a fantasy. He's come in for his share of hurt, but gotten off with minor damage. And you, his creator, have spoilt him rotten and given him everything he wanted.

You may have let yourself get a little too close to Meriddean . Maybe he's you as you wish you were, or maybe you're just afraid no one will like him and are trying to give him a free ride. Have some confidence in your writing! Meriddean is a good character. Give him room to be himself before you stifle him.

Ranger, that was a fun little test.

Vered is only a little like you. She isn't really very cool: she blends into crowds, she hangs out on the fringes at parties, and wearing shades after dark makes her run into things. She may have sometimes thought that she was special, or destined for greater things, but probably dismissed the idea as a fantasy. She's got no emotional scars to speak of. And she's gotten no slack from you.

In general, you care deeply about Vered, but you're smart enough to let her stand on her own, without burdening her with your personal fantasies or propping her up with idealization and over-dramatization. Vered is a healthy character with a promising career ahead of her.

Okay, I have got to get my hands on this. O.O

I took the Mary-Sue test with a few of my characters, it's pretty cool. It definitely misjudged how awful their pasts were though - It said two characters with some trauma had none because it didn't fit into the categories available, and of two characters with a lot of trauma it said the one who actually isn't that angsty about it was much worse than the other.

Lykoasis's feet made no sound as he crept through the forest. He zoned into every sound he heard. And there she stood, dressed in think, metal armor. She smiled. "It's nice to see you again," She says, smiling wider. Lykoais nods, "Yes, Nadia, I see you have a scar there," and with this he gestured to a bit of pink, shiny skin on her collarbone. "War does something to ya'," She says coolly in reply.

julie, the only complaint i have about that is that you switched from past tense to present tense, and that really sets me off a lot (I'm looking at you, sister dear). A question I have is what war? How long was it?

Lol I was being lazy. A war that happened between the "Witches" which were shapeshifters and the mortals, it lasted for 4 years, and they haven't seen each other over the span of that time.

Ackk that moment when it's midnight and you have a 9am class, but you get that kick to write. To be honest, I haven't felt this kick in months so I'm gonna go until I burn out my determination!
