Stump-paw saw that a few cats had found Poppykit near the river, which explained why no one woke him up.
As he started to eat his fish, he noticed that cats were voting to see who they'd vote out of the clan.
He had no idea why, as it appeared no cat was hurt, but he soon overheard a rumor that someone attempted to kill poor Poppy, and he believed it.
At first he thought Violetsong did it, but then started to think why would the medicine cat attempt to kill a cat.
Then he thought Shinepaw, his denmate.
She seemed a bit suspicious to him, since she found Poppykit so quickly, so it only seemed reasonable to him.
