Hmm, that's a tough one. I could see it going both ways... Would you have a preference? With feral horses, sans Mustangs (because they're branded and have their own taming events), I was thinking the usual adoption method would be an adoption fee and then a series of stories to complete in order to "tame" the horse for training, but I wasn't entirely planning on that for the event... Hmm. If you wanted, I could have the taming process take place after someone wins a horse so they could still be feral and eligible for registration?
I'd certainly love to see it if you wanted to PM it to me! No pressure, though ^^ I think the issue is that my method currently doesn't have a scoring system, just a comparison ranking, which is really difficult when I'm having to judge horses I've created myself -- there are specific things I want to penalize but I don't have a points system to take anything away from, and three different tries later, I can't for the life of me figure out how to come up with an objective scoring system! I do have a couple budding ideas, though -- perhaps those will be able to mesh with your system and we can work out a way to judge halter/showmanship c: I don't mind difficult at all -- just inconsistent, so if we can set it up properly, we should be good to go c; I'd be happy to keep it around if I can figure out a consistent rewards system!

I like how you put it Sydney! The Mustangs could be like that dark brown blind mare, where you can gain their trust. And maybe they will need a lot of care, so maybe if their owner starts to neglect them, they may run away??
Hi There! I'm Chico_Mistpool, otherwise known as Mist! I am a horse lover through and through. I currently have two species I am working on for adopts, Sea Kings and Hippocampi of the Pacific Sea. The links should be to the right of this. I love speaking to new people so feel free to PM me. I'm not really into the pets side of things anymore, but I still trade and collect them so just trade away! On the right, I will be linking important links to me and some advertising. Thanks for reading!

This is what I was thinking:
Maybe do a random generator?
1-40 maybe run away
40-80 is RVEC finds them
80-100 maybe doesn't effect?
But anyway, great ideas so far
(I have no good ideas as I am soo tired XD)

Hmmm, I don't think that really the Percherons from France would be popular or widely desired. Just my opinion. I do however think a Selle Français horse, sorry I'm just addicted to them, or maybe even a carmargue would do better. If you did choose to redefine and choose the Selle Français or the Carmague, I'd be happy to PM you some facts I've been saving since I knew about them.
Selle Français
- They are 16 hh or over
- Athletic and Robust
- Hindquarters are broad and powerful
- Head is refined and attractive
- Neck long, chest deep
Just remembered, Carmague are owned by people but cannot be transported away from France, cannot be ridden or bred and have to be left alone in paddocks, hmmmmmmmm
I've been on like a 6-7 month hiatus..... soooo to all that know me sorry. And Boop! I'm revamping??? Everything??? Idk what you would call it. I've found myself I think, through fan fiction, high school drama and a whole lot of maturing. Have a new room, new sense of humour, yeah. Ready to start helping the world. I think??? Still questioning my messed up life where I'm pretty sure my old cat is my spirit animal, I have a tea addiction (weak and sweet mind you!) and possibly building a author/ artist career??? There's a lot of question marks but that's life.
Always expect more questions than answers and you might just find yourself. xoxo

Hm, very funny you would say that! They were one of the most popular breeds on the last version of the sim cx I'll consider it, but I know we're needing drafts right now, so it'll depend... I didn't really want to make Warmbloods either because they really aren't a breed (mostly) so I'll have to seriously consider it ^^

So I'm considering changing horses to age one year every week. I know that makes it seem kind of quick, but here's the thing...
As of now, approximately 1/3 of the horse we have are breedings. Most of these horses are too young to compete and breed, despite the fact that they are very good horses and would do a lot to help the game. Additionally, horses can already breed once per week, which is very unrealistic if we go by the fact that horses are only supposed to be able to breed once per year (and then throw in the fact that breeding stables can breed twice per week). So -- I was considering changing it so that horses age one year every week. Here's how that would look practically:
1. Horses would be able to train one week after being born, not two.
2. Horses would be able to breed three weeks after being born, rather than six weeks (a month and a half).
3. Horses would be able to compete to earn money six weeks (a month and a half) after being born, rather than twelve (three months).
4. Horses would retire from invitational showing after eighteen weeks (four and a half months) rather than thirty-six weeks (nine months).
5. Horses would struggle with breeding after twenty weeks (five months) rather than forty weeks (ten months).
6. Horses would no longer be able to breed after thirty weeks (seven and a half months) rather than sixty weeks (fifteen months/one year and three months).
7. Horses would begin to pass away after approximately twenty-five weeks (six months and a week) rather than approximately fifty weeks (twelve months and a half/one year and two weeks).
So -- what do you guys think? Is longer better or should we shorten it some so that we can speed up the inclusion of offspring in competitions and breeding?
Thanks so much for your input -- I plan to get started on the Around the World event soon! ^^

hm, i'm on the fence. on one hand, it'd make the sim progress faster...but on the other hand it'd make the sim progress faster, if y'know what i mean. i don't have terribly much time on my hands, personally, and such a rigorous schedule would definitely make it difficult. i like the implementation of futurities, definitely, and the ability for green horses to compete, but i will admit that 4 weeks is a while to wait for a foal to grow for showing. hmph. ultimately, it could well be good for the SIM, but i'd perhaps tread with caution. it could also greatly spur the use of the leasing function, though, and i'd be more than okay with that. all of these are just thoughts - ultimately, i think it'd be a good move, but i'd think long and hard on the logistics of it and how to make it all work out for all players.
as for feral horses and ponies, i still consider them feral if they were born in domestication provided their recent forebears are or were wild at some point. if you simply denote on their page that they're feral by RVFHA standards, i'll welcome them for sure! up to you, ultimately.
