---Al grew up in an orphanage; as a young pup he joined the United States Navy and became a pilot. In the late 1960s, Al began a series of tours in Vietnam. In early 1969, Al was captured by the Việt Cộng and held prisoner of war until 1973. By the time he was released, the Navy had declared Al MIA(missing in action) and probably KIA(killed in action). When Al finally got back home, he re-enlisted and rose through the naval ranks, eventually becoming a Rear Admiral.
