Welcome to Darlinqs!

Darlinq (pronounced: dar-ling) is actually a close relative to the reptile family....which reptile you ask? None other than those cuties in shells...TURTLES! Surprising right? Well not really. Just like turtles, Darlinqs have the prehistoric jaw shape and "cheek puffs" as we like to call them that some can be seen on many turtle species. Darlinqs have evolved to be much larger than their reptilian cousins, reaching heights of almost that of Draft horses. Woah Bessie! Though they do range in size, there are no Darlinqs that are smaller than that of a small pony. Darlinqs are dorks. Let's just face this now and be done with it. They're like big dogs. They love people and interacting with other Darlinqs, there are rare few cases of unsociable Darlinqs. They're herd animals and a group of Darlinqs is called a "Dole of Darlinqs" ... Like their reptilian cousins, a Darlinqs diet is mainly dependent on their location. For instance, a Darlinqs main choice of food is actually fish but if fish is not readily available they would eat worms, snails, insects, leafy greens, fruits and even flowers! A Darlinq caught near the sea or a ocean would eat the general same diet but more likely include shellfish, jellyfish, algae and whatever fish that was not poisonous was around!

Guidelines //

▶ Darlinqs are not an open species ; you must adopt/breed or win a contest to own one
▶ Do not claim the species as your own
▶ Do not make a Darlinq your fursona
▶ Darlinqs can not be sold/traded/gifted away ; if you no longer want your darlinq please return it to me
▶ No limit on how many you may own (this may change)
▶ Do not alter any darlinq you own for whatever reason (adding accessories is fine)
▶ We plan to have a kind community ; don't be mean and no drama pls
▶ Please bring any issue to me ; i will handle it personally
▶ Do not guilt the artists to create darlinqs
▶ Do not make winners feel bad about winning
▶ Do not ask to be staff/artist ; apply when spots are open
▶ Darlinqs can not be transferred to another species
▶ Shop currency/items can not be traded with other users

Adoption Requirements //

▶ Account must be registered on CS for 3 months and been fairly active in the forums
▶ Darlinqs with "Adopt Me" written on their image are the only ones up for adoption
▶ Do not enter contests that have already reached passed their end date
▶ Fill out forms correctly per the artists requests ; do not rush
▶ Do not post "bumps" on an adopt where the artist has stated it is closed and they are judging, this will disqualify you

Staff Rules //

▶ Do not create your own Darlinq without permission
▶ Darlinq species rules applies to staff as well
▶ Staff get special customs ; must be earned
▶ Be kind ; no rifts between members and staff
▶ Please bring issues to me, will deal with them accordingly
▶ Stay active as much as possible, if you're going to be inactive...let me know
▶ Judge adopts fairly quickly, I know real life gets busy but don't keep people waiting for 2 months
▶ No favoritism ; if you hold a contest, be fair
▶ If you have an idea for a mane/tail/horn/ear addition..PM me first before applying
▶ Do not ask me for customs ; I reward when I see effort
▶ Use both the oekaki and the .PSD file when creating a Darlinq

Normal Types //

These are common, uncommon or rare Darlinqs that have no special abilities but can range in looks.

▶ Can only have 3 egg clutches
▶ Can breed with most any Darlinq

Special Types //

These are uncommon or rare Darlinqs that have specific abilities and looks.

▶ Can only have 2 egg clutches
▶ Can breed with non-special Darlinqs
▶ Hatchlings born from these types will be partial special type
▶ Hatchlings born from these types have a 30%/70% chance of gaining some abilities
▶ Partial special type hatchlings can not pass down their parents special abilities
▶ Can be transformed from shop items
▶ Must have normal type Darlinq to convert to a special type
▶ More types are always being discovered

clairvoyant - Clairvoyant types have abilities to see into the future, also have the 'third eye'.
faerie - Faerie types have the ability to hover and create nature magic, also have delicate wings.
hairless - Hairless types are....well...hairless...
spectre - Spectre types have the ability to converse with the dead, may also be partially dead or ghost-like
pythoness - Pythoness types can cast spells, also must have the mark of the beast
magical girl - Magical Girl types are super kawaii uguu~, also has a floaty companion and magical girl staff

Event Types //

These Darlinqs are only obtainable during the months that their holidays occur.

▶ Can only have 1 clutch of eggs
▶ Can breed with non-event Darlinqs
▶ Hatchlings born from these types will be partial event type
▶ Partial event type hatchlings can not pass down their parents event markings
▶ Can not be transformed from shop items
▶ Have no abilities

easter - April
halloween - October
christmas - December

Godly Types //

These are legendary Darlinqs that have otherworldly abilities and looks.

▶ Are sterile
▶ Gave otherworldly abilities pertaining to the deity they follow
▶ Are devout followers of their deities
▶ Can not be transformed from shop items

celestial - Darlinqs who are followers to the Sun Goddess
cursed - Darlinqs who are followers to the Moon God
