Apep Personality:
Apep is much like his twin sister. He is intelligent and cunning. He loves puzzles, that's what life is to him, just a puzzle to be solved, move the right pieces, say the right words; it's all just a game. It's this outlook that has led to his skill as criminal. He knows how to adapt to any situation and turn it to his advantage. No matter what happens he can find a solution. Apep was never afraid of the fire. There is always some way that the fire can be useful. He's always been curious and loved learning new things. He has a knack for memorization and quick recall of facts. Before a job he memorizes everything he can, especially the things others consider irrelevant. That's what gives him the edge, everyone memorizes the obvious things, you have to know more than you opponent if you plan to outsmart them. One day knowing someone's great grandfather's favorite color could just save your life. Apep is not naturally social but can be when he finds it useful. In addition to planning, Apep is able to use his skills in the way of a con artist and read people just as well as any situation. People have solutions just like everything else. He is confident in his abilities but not usually to the point of arrogance. Most of the personality people see is an act. Trust does not come naturally to him. Maybe it's a result of growing up around the kind of people he has or maybe not. Very little is known about him outside of the kiaminal community aside from his reputation and a possible relation to the Marais-Tau family, and he works hard to keep it that way. Most simply call him The Ghost because of the lack of knowledge that surrounds this Kia makes it seems almost like he doesn't exist. Many of those who know Apep aren't even aware that he is, in fact, the mystical Ghost. Even with those he trusts, he has a hard time letting them see his true feeling. He sees them as vulnerabilities. He's seen how easy it is for someone to manipulate others feelings just look at Furfur and Murmur. His family are the only people that he is ever really open around, even then mostly with Nekhbet. The only person outside of the family that he's ever had a real close relationship with is Tadashi.

History:

Apep has been planning and scheming since before he could even walk. As a child, Apep had a way of constantly getting himself into trouble without ever actually getting in trouble. He'd always find some way to fix whatever he'd done before anyone found out or talk his way out of it when they did. It was quite annoying to his siblings. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't long before Apep began to show an interest in the family business. It became quite a problem actually. Once he tried to follow Lindsay to "help" her on a job, which would have ended rather disastrously had she not discovered the stowaway pup. Lindsay thought it was great to see him taking such an interest and only encouraged him. She would occasionally bring home little souvenirs to show them, not all of which were necessarily child appropriate, but still she and Menhit worried. It was a dangerous life for adults, much less children. They knew that they wouldn't be able to keep him away from it, though. He was too determined trying to stop him would have only made him try harder, so instead they each began to mentor him in their own specific skill set. Nekhbet helped him with his skills just a much as their parents, maybe even more. As children, they would constantly try to best each other at everything. Image two master strategists going head to head in a strange game of capture the flag. Neither of them ever seemed to have a decisive advantage over the other. Nekhbet was better at long term planning and strategy but Apep's amazing ability to think in the moment balanced things out. When the two of them worked together it was the stuff of nightmares (or dreams depending on which side you were on). They were hardly ever seen apart and still have a very tight bond. Sometimes people were genuinely surprised to see them apart. When he and his siblings were a bit older, their parents began bringing them to fireworks bar. Araceli never minded having children in their bar so long as they didn't drink or make to big of a mess. It was there that Apep first met Tadashi. Apep had met very few people his age who he didn't find annoying and Tadashi was one of them. They quickly became friends and over the years only continued to grow closer. They weren't really the likeliest of matches but somehow it worked.
When Apep reached 16, he began to help his family on jobs, mostly small stuff, but he still loved it, not for the thrill of it, not for the danger and excitement, but for the puzzle of it. What else would you expect from him? He usually took more of a supportive role. He'd never really had the urge to play with explosives or get shot at. (He also got to do what most kias his age could only dream of and tell his parents what to do rather than the other way around.) Like his mother, he developed a 100% track record, even as moved on to more complicated and dangerous situations. He tried not to let it go to his head, but of course, it did. At some points, he seemed to think that he was the greatest criminal mastermind in existence or maybe it was just another part of his act. Most of the jobs he worked no one was even aware that he was there, which is part of the reason for his nickname The Ghost. As he grew older, he also began to notice how cute Tadashi was. Tadashi was the sweetest kia that Apep had ever met, and he began to realise that he was in love with him. but he couldn't tell him. It was too much, too deep, too personal. He often found himself wishing that their skills were more compatible but since Tadashi never missed everything usually went as planned so there was no need for someone like him.

Apep Relationships:
Family

In general, Apep is very close to his family. He couldn't imagine one that he would rather be a part of.
Lindsay Marais: As a child Apep thought that Lindsay was a god. She just seemed to have mastered everything. There was nothing that she couldn't do. He now has a more realistic view of her but he still can't help getting a slight feeling of awe everything he thinks about her. Sometimes her over excited nature annoys Apep a little but he still loves her. Anyways being a least a little annoying is part of being a mother.

Menhit Tau: Unlike Lindsay he never thought Menhit was a god, he did however once think that his hair was made of cotton candy. Xe should not have used such sweet smelling shampoo. This came to a very quick end when he actually tried tasting xer hair. It had a very smokey flavor that was not at all pleasant. Xe has always been a little more real to Apep then his mother. They've always had a closer relationship. Apep knows that no matter what xe will always be there for him no what happens and xe's the one he's likely to go to if he has a problem he can't handle.

Sekhmet Marais-Tau: Of his family members Sekhmet is probably the one that he's the least close to. She's always been the annoying older sister. She's just too happy for him. Happy people are nice to be around most of the time but when you don't want to be around them you don't want to around them. Of course, he still loves her. She has a great (though happy) personality. She's always full of curiosity ready to help.

Nekhbet Marais-Tau: Apep cares about Nekhbet more than anyone else in the world. He couldn't imagine life without her. Sometimes they seem to have an almost telepathic connection. As they grew up the began to spend more time apart but they've still kept close, often working together on jobs and just hanging out.

Other Kiaminals

Murmur and Furfur: Apep will work with the two but they both freak him out more than he'd care to admit. He doesn't really believe the stories about them but he can still never quite put them out of his mind. They seem to know things about Apep that he doesn't even know himself. He really just tries to stay away from the as much as he can.

Cry Delphini: Apep loves to play cards with Cry. Of course, he knows that she cheats but that's the fun in it: trying to figure out how she's cheating and try to beat her at it. Apep was rarely able to actually beat Cry at, even then he suspects that she may have let him win. He as learned to be an exceptionally apt cheater.

Free Lilitu: For the longest time he was fascinated with Frees ability to communicate nonverbally to the point where he would openly stare at her to try to figure out just how she did it.

Araceli Rendón: Apep has known Araceli since he was a child. He's grown to be quite fond of the firey little kia and like many of the kiaminals is fiercely protective of him, not that Araceli needs protecting.

Vanoan Æthelind: Apep respects Vans skills. They are a nice enough kia but Apep can't understand why he wants to be around people who are not involved in the business. He doesn't get why he wants to be around people he has to lie to, which is a little odd coming from someone like him.

Mitch 'Mitchy' Caelix: Apep owes Mitchy a lot and he's not alone in that. There's a good chance that he and many others would be dead if it wasn't for Mitchy. Apep always makes sure to keep an eye on Mitchy just in case he gets in more trouble than he can handle.

Lashay Emerald: Lashay had a tendency to spoil Apep and his siblings when they were younger. She still does somewhat. They were just such cuties how could she not? Apep has always liked her. Even when he was younger she wasn't one to treat him like a child and would talk to him normally.

Tadashi Emerald: Tadashi is the only person Apep has ever trusted outside of his family. Apep is in love with Tadashi though he won't admit it. Tadashi has to be the sweetest soul on the earth

Iskra Sindre: Honestly Iskra is hard to dislike. He has a lot of good qualities and not really any bad. His past means that he can relate to any problems that others have but he still doesn't dwell on them. Apep trusts him and that's not a common thing. He just has a level of honesty that few in the world have. Apep honestly feels guilty about hiding behind a fallacy around him when Iskra seems to have never told a lie in his life.

Thaumé Nycthemeral: Apep has never really liked Nycthe too much. They are a nice enough person but their insecurities can drive him crazy sometimes. When they decide to just be themselves it's fine but he can't stand this weird halfway thing that they do. Apep thinks that they are too easily influenced by others, especially in the position that they are in.

History Cont.:

Apep by this time had grown quite the reputation as a Kiaminal. No matter how impossible a situation seemed, he could always find a way through it, until the day that he couldn't. He was working with a few of the other Kiaminals, including Nekhbet and Tadashi, on a high stakes mission. Things had taken a turn for the worse. Apep choked. He didn't know what to do. He always knew what to do. He couldn't move, couldn't think. Then everything quite literally blew up in his face. A bang shook the air and the ground began to rattle. Apep felt waves of heat flow through his mane. In that moment he saw their deaths, all of them, his fault. The fire engulfed everything and everyone he cared about. He could never stop the fire. It would just keep burning just keep eating until there was nothing left until he himself was in the fire. It may be delayed but it would still come just as strong as before and eventually it would catch up with them all. Today he had brought the fire to them. Still, he didn't fear the fire. The fire was just a thing, but instead he feared this life he feared, he feared the deaths of his family and friends, and most of all he feared he would cause them. Apep could bare to stare into the fire no longer even if he couldn't stop it he could look away. He could make sure that he never put them in the fire again so Apep ran.



Muthaqaf
Muthaqaf was the name that Apep took for his new life. It was fitting if not a bit melodramatic. Muthaqaf is Arabic for enlightened which Apep now considered himself to be. Most English speakers just call him math because it's easier for them to pronounce.
Personality
Muthaqaf hates everyone. They're all just so stupid. Sure he'd met dumb people in the criminal world but they tended to get killed so you didn't have to deal with them for long. He could have pretended and blended in with the rest of them but he didn't want to he just didn't care anymore. In general, Muthaqaf seems to be almost universally sad or angry. The only time that he actually seems happy is when he is doing comedy.
History

No one noticed when the sullen Muthaqaf showed up. Someone looking for a fresh start after a tragedy could be a sadly common thing. As time passed stories began to circulate about him. He was everything from a terrorist, to a government secret agent, to just being a plain old crackpot, depending on who you talked to. It was just strange for someone to have as much of a lack of past, even existence as Math seemed to have. It wasn't that he had a bad alias there was plenty connected to his identity but he never said a word about it to anyone he talked to. If they got curious and started asking him about it, he just wouldn't really say anything. Muthaqaf never talked to anyone that he didn't have to anyways. Even now, he was still a ghost. Eventually, Muthaqaf began to emerge from his melancholic state and realized how much he hated ordinary life. It was just boring. If little was known about him as a criminal even less was when he wasn't. He had no past. He couldn't go back, though. He just couldn't. He had let them all down, almost gotten them killed. He couldn't watch them all die. It would be better for everyone this way. There was only one thing that he ever enjoyed about civilian life: improvisation comedy. It might sound a little strange but when you think about it, he did always love thinking on his feet and he knew how people thought. He was actually very good. He was moderately successful and was able to get a weekly performance booked at a local bar. It didn't pay well but was something that he enjoyed. After a few months, something strange happened he saw Tadashi at one of his performances, just watching, he didn't say anything to Muthaqaf, just sat in the back of the bar and smiled. The next week he was there again and the week after that. Muthaqaf thought that maybe if Tadashi was there it meant that he felt the same way. It at least meant that he cared. The next week Muthaqaf came up to him after the show. They talked and had a few drinks then finally Apep mustered up the courage to say those three dreaded words "I love you..."

Personality: Kimber tens to overburden herself for the sake of others. She loves to help and she feels that she can do anything sometimes, even when she can't. She is very bubbly and excitable, but she hasn't always been that way.
History: She never really needed much as a child. She ate, she played, she occasionally got into trouble, but she kept to herself. She was shy and afraid and as antisocial and could be. As the years wore on, she grew out of her shyness and by her teenage years, she was one of the most popular girls in her school! She wore all of the trendy clothes and had tons of friends. She knew all of the teachers not to have and which classes you could get away with texting in. As she grew up though, she changed. In her late teen years, she grew depressed and shy once again. She kept to herself more than ever and all of her friends left. She was suddenly invisible. By her adult years, she had discovered the reason for her depressed stage was bipolar disorder. She was put on a medication as soon as possible and became cheerful and peppy as ever.
Relationships: She is very close to her parents, she has separation anxiety, so she stays as close as possible when she's around them. She also has a handful of besties x3

With change comes improvements. With change also comes losses and failures. Change is a wonderful and horrible thing. Change is its own, and nobody can say they hate it, because change is all around. If you hate change, you hate the world. The world is full of change. Everywhere you look, there is change. *Bends down and picks up penny* Told ya so! It is easy to ignore it, but a true soul could just accept it.
