To the far north of Canada there is a place almost untouched by mankind that place is called “Ellesmere Island” on this cold unforgiving land there lives a strange breed of creature. this creature is called the Eastern Mountain Clydeer; (EMC or Clydeer for short). Clydeer have roamed the mountains and valleys of Ellesmere Island for many decades and have only recently been discovered. Clydeer are in fact related to the modern horse though it seems when they hit the Pliohippus stage the Clydeer for some reason adapted differently and became their own species.
What are Eastern Mountain Clydeer?
These creatures are tall and built similar to that of a Clydesdale, with a thick coat made to withstand even the harshest winters. Their powerful legs and wide hooves help them run easily through the snow. The Clydeers used to have a more horse like tail but as decades passed it evolved into a more lion like tail to help them keep balance while climbing the mountains and running through deep snow. Clydeer’s use their thick elk like horns to fend off enemies and fight for territory as well as to help them break pieces of bark off trees in winter.
Eastern Mountain Clydeer Characteristics?
Clydeers are born stripe less and with small horn nubs but, they are full of spunk and ready to go! Foals are born with double coat, to keep them warm since they cant regulate their body temperature very well at that age but, as they grow older they will shed the undercoat. it can be hard to differ colts from fillies when Clydeer are young, unless you get a good look at their eyes or antlers. Female Clydeer have smaller horns than males but brighter eye colors. Sometimes Clydeer have no horns, it's extremely rare though. Like their brethren the Horse, Clydeer are herbivores but unlike horses they only need to eat and drink once every couple weeks.

Facts
-Mares usually have lighter coloured eyes than stallions
-Stallions have larger antlers than mares
-It is common to see barring on the clydeer but rarely any on their face
-Their coat colours range from the simplest solid bay to the most complicated grullo and black chimera
-It is very rare for a female to have bright eyes
-The rarest coat colour is Lilac Roan
-The most common eye colour is blue and green but the most rarest colour is pink and purple-Clydeer's manes can either be short, long or custom. It is rare for a custom.
-Clydeers can only be breed 10 times
-Foals will grow into adults after 10 days. Do not bug the artists about this please.
Rules
-Do not steal/use someone else's clydeer without permission.
-Please do not be disrespectful to artists,mods or archivists, they are people too.
-You can own as many Clydeer as you can handle.
-Do not ask for customs. They will only be acquired if an artist says in the fanclub or if you win one in an event. (Artists can do custom trades with other artists and make players customs without them asking if they want to.)
-Do not claim the species as your own
-No reserving posts on fcfs clydeers
-There is a limit of 2 customs each month per player
-You may apply for as many clydeers and you want
-You must have a stable to be able to submit breedings
Artist Guidelines/Rules
-Colour mare's eyes brighter than stallions, expect for the rare occasions.
-Try to keep brindle, lace, irregular markings, edits, somatic, chimera and rarer coat colors to a minimum until further notice
-GA are only allowed to create 8 Clydeers to be adopted out.
-Players can only be GA once every two months so other people can have a chance.
-GA get the privilege of creating one custom clydeer for themselves, But it can only have one rare marking (Chimera, Brindle, Irregular marking) and one rare coat color (Perlino, Cream, Champagne. NOT Lilac Roan). The custom CAN have an edit as well but only a minor one.
-GA are only artists for one month
-Don't make Lilac roan clydeers without asking me first and don't make clydeers without antlers without also asking me first. I will add more coat colours in the future to this list.
