what is a serigala?

a serigala, or berkaki panjang serigala (long-legged wolf in Indonesian), is a mix between a maned wolf and greyhound husky mix. they're usually around the size of a greyhound. their long legs and thick, matted coat comes from their maned wolf gene, while their large pointy ears and curled tail come from their greyhound husky gene. specifically, their skinniness comes from the greyhound part of the gene, and the shape of their muzzle comes from the husky part of the gene.
their long legs are very useful for running and hunting down prey, and their thick pelt for the harsh winter weather conditions that occur in their habitat.

wild or domestic?

serigalas are usually found in the wild, and very rarely can be domesticated. in the wild, they can live in packs around 6 or 7.

habitat?

their habitat is mainly near and around tundras and plains, near mountains and streams.

behavior?

serigalas are bouncy and playful like greyhounds. they love to run. they can be seen chasing one another around- although, it's often mistaken for "aggressive behavior". serigalas are usually calm and gentle creatures. the only aggression they show is toward predators, mainly falcons and eagles, because those birds can steal the serigala pups.
serigalas usually breed around spring time, just like any other animal on the tundra.

predator/prey?

serigala's diet mainly consists of any type of meat. usually rabbit, mouse, bird, frog or fish. the streams near their habitat are abundant in prey during the summertime. but during winter, serigalas can break thin sheets of ice for fish; when that doesn't work out, they can dig up holes and scatter rocks to find mice, rats, and shrews.
predators include caribou, arctic foxes, white wolves, grey falcons, and bald eagles.

typical pelt colors?

serigalas pelts range from any type of grey, brown, and black. it's rare to see a white serigala, even in the winter. it's also possible, if a white and a grey serigala breed, that they can have light blue pup.
