Not sure if I mentioned this, but it's actually more common for his species to be red, orange, or a darker version of either. So I hope the pups look ok. If you'd like the pups to look a tad bit more like their dad I can do that for the refs.

Anyways, Sundog and Reku return from a planet that looked like one giant field in the fall with two pups. On the planet there were large birds of prey with strange features including a long snout and sharp teeth. Other weird animals included cows with limbs sprouting from random places on their backs and sides, and deer with stubby legs. Although not obvious, this sight had previously been used as a dumping ground for nuclear waste, which gave way to some mild mutations. Such as antelope like horns, thumbs, and feathered ears.
