personally, i haven't tried for any newer adopts only bc I don't particularly like their colors, but i don't see anything wrong with the designs or palettes (they're just not for me uvu). as with the last two people, i really just think leafies need some more publicity.

For me, I am not really a fan of the colour and design (Patterns) of a ton of them, but that is because I like simple colour palettes and purely on bias choices where I am super picky. Though this next point might be for more than just me

They are unique a ton which is awesome but I think that they go a little too far in complexity. I would love to try and get some fan art for them by other artists without slight placement errors happening. I haven't gone all out in adopting one because I like to draw art in my forums but I can't do that because they are overly complex at times to draw up which causes a ton of problems from my pov. It sucks because I would love to adopt one and connect with one so much because they are a wonderful specie, but it makes getting art for them a chore to say the least.

I agree with publication. Though with publication it comes with problems. I don't really think leafies should be a specie that goes "toxic" due to popularity because teenagers like to whine on confession blogs a lot about every little thing in an adopt. It is a strong double edged sword here.

Of course this is just how I see it. Unique and originality is great, complexity is a bit of a chore to go through.

ZeyDaan makes a good point. I often struggle in any adopt when I find something with a design too complex. If I could draw it successfully, heck yes I would go for it. But otherwise, with my current level, that's not the case. I still adopt chars with complex designs anyways because I love the look(duh). Maybe some simpler designs would be a good idea.

The palettes aren't always my favorite. Maybe working on choosing complimentary colors a little more?

Publicity would be great. But-as with other species-it really depends on the community. I know plenty of great species with publicity yet they can't seem to get any. Extending beyond CS could certainly help with that.
