β Day 8 β
Clan: Quarryclan
Prompt: " Mama! Mama! " Lightpaw ran to Calicoleaf, bouncing around at her feet. " Yes dear? " She looked at her sweetly. " I was thinking, since it is the first snow fall of leaf bear and everyone has the day off, maybe we could finally play a game together? I never get to play with you! " Calicoleaf felt a pang of guilt stab her in the chest for not being their for her daughter. " Of course dear. What would you like to play? " She gazed into her kit's warm eyes. " It's a surprise! " She giggled, and ran off. Calicoleaf noticed Lightpaw was climbing the quarry walls. " Lightpaw! Don't slip! " She called with worry. Lightpaw laughed and ran off into the woods. Calicoleaf scrambled to her paws and thundered after the apprentice. She reached the top of the quarry and looked urgently for the ticked fur kit. She knew what this game was. " Hide and Seek. " She muttered under her breath. She ran through the woods, looking for any sign of her child.
Calicoleaf gasped. " Paw-prints! " She said to herself. She walked beside the tiny imprints in the snow as they lead her deeper into the woods. She continued to follow along them. They began to lead into Fallen Trees. Calicoleaf began to worry when the prints looked as though the kit slipped from the log and onto the ice she fell. The ice had a crack in it where Calicoleaf assumed she fell.
The paw-prints continue, and continue, until it was sun-down. Calicoleaf saw the prints lead into a bush. " Boo! " She screamed when she stuck her head into the bush. " You got me! " The apprentice squealed and giggled. Calicoleaf stuck her big paw in and pulled her out. They starred at the stars as the sun set. " Are you hurt? " She looked down to Lightpaw. " My paws ache a bit, and my head hurts from falling off a log.. But I'm okay! " She reassured. " Well, lets head back to camp for the feast, we don't want to miss it! " She got to her paws and Lightpaw joined her.
