How I met my girlfriend:

”It’s like yesterday, I still remember the day I met those beautiful burgundy eyes.

It was summer and I had just arrived in town, L.A. the city was huge and I immediately got lost.
I was frantically looking around for my hotel when I bumped into her.
My heart started racing and my stomach filled with butterflies when I looked at her.
“I am so sorry ! I didn’t mean to bump into you. I’m really lost and trying to look for my hotel.”
She giggled, “easy there stranger. I’ll help ya out. I’m Venus.”

“S-Sakura.” My anxiety was high and I could barley speak. Let alone talk to this beauty.
“What’s the hotel you’re looking for?” I held my phone up to her and she started heading towards the building. “It’s just this way. You aren’t that far.
So, where are you from Sakura? That’s a unique name and i never met someone with it.”

Her voice was soft and relaxing, “Japan, my name means ‘Cherry Blossom’ in Japanese.”
“That’s very beautiful, I’ve always wanted to visit Japan. Hey, if I ever visit maybe you can show me around !” She giggled, that sound echoed in my mind.
“Yes ! Totally! It’s so beautiful and I’m already missing it and I haven’t even been here 30 minutes.” I giggled. She was a fast walker so I struggled to keep up.

“What brought you to L.A. if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Not at all, I got accept as a transfer student for the university nearby. I heard it was the best if someone’s looking to become a doctor.”
She nodded silently. Then she pointed at this big beautiful building. “Here we are ! I better get going, but I hope to see you again soon !”
Venus smiles gently and slipped a small piece of paper into my hand before wandering off.
I took a breathe before entering the building.
As I entered I peaked at the paper, it was a number. Her phone number ! I just got a phone number from a cute girl!

I used all my will power to not jump up and down while waiting for my key. I headed down the direction to my room. The halls were gorgeous, they had antique knight armour around every corner. I went into my room and finally was able to settle down.
I took out my phone and decided to text Venus.
‘Hey Venus, it’s Sakura. Just wanted to thank you for helping me out earlier ! Hope to meet up with ya soon. Xoxo, Sakura.’

As soon as I placed my phone next to me I hear a ding. It’s a message from Venus already.
‘Hey dear, it was no problem. Always willing to help a nice stranger into this big city.”
I didn’t reply and just put my phone down.
I unpacked everything and checked the time.
It was still early, I know there’s a beautiful park with many cherry blossoms right down the street so I decided to spend some time there.
I grabbed a notebook and pencil and then my phone and headed down the street to the park.
When I got there I sat under a beautiful cherry blossom that was fully bloomed.
I opened my notebook and started writing.

Until I heard a familiar voice.
“Well hello again stranger.”
I looked up and met sparkling burgundy eyes.
“Hello.” I giggled and closed my notebook.
“This is my favourite park, I’ve been coming here since I was young.”
She sat next to me and I placed my things under my leg.

“I got a question, are you taken?”
I shook my head. “Are you into guys or girls?”
I titled my head, “girls..why?”

“So you’re telling me, if I asked you out on a date, would you say yes?”
My face turned as red as a tomato. I just nodded.
“Cool, because there’s this new restaurant in town and I was wondering if you’d be my date to the opening night?”
I nodded, “I would love to.”


I would continue on but you know the whole story.
After the date we kissed right underneath that cherry blossom, and we carved our names into it afterwards. The names are still there and we are still together.”
