And yes, those are quills, and they can come off.
He is a without a pack and a very formidable opponent.

He is quiet and chooses his words very carefully. He is a wanderer, longing to belong somewhere once again, and attempts to do good where ever he goes. He is gentle, both physically and of the soul, but is a true warrior and will fight to the end. He is strong both mentally and of the mind, soul and heart. He will wait forever for what is truly right and meant to be, no matter how tempted he is to sway from the path he sees for himself.
He was abandoned by his pack after a mock-battle among themselves- it was sort of like a modern-day boxing or wrestling match- for taking the eye of another pack member with one of his quills. Used to, he was the most respected warrior in his pack and had every female trying to become his mate. He truly misses those days and longs to be a part of a pack yet again. Now, he simply wonders alone and out of place.
