To tell the truth, I'd never heard of My Antonia before your comment, but after a bit of googling I can see how you thought that. But I'm afraid the likenesses are just coincidental and apart from the name, nationality and association with wolves, the personalities are quite different.
Though thank you for pointing this out, I'll make sure that my Pavel is quite different to My Antonia's in the future :3
