Echolight let the tip of her tail rest on Jaywing's shoulder reassuringly. "You'll never know if you don't tell them. What if they like you. You could both like each other and both be too nervous to tell the other," she purred hoping the possibility helped her overcome her nerves.

Jaywing nodded. "Ok" she smiled

Echolight purred. "We should go back to the patrol," she meowed. She picked up the fish and lead the way back to the others.

Darkfoot could tell that Jaywing liked him, "Why does choosing have to be so hard?" he thought to himself.

Jaywing nodded. Then slowly padded away. She caught up to the patrol and saw Darkfoot so she turned her head away and padded around the base of the tree hoping to find prey scents

Darkfoot flicked his tail, 'I caught a bird, they can't ask for more' he whispered to himself while waiting fornthe other cats to catch something.

Jaywing slowly looked up and saw a plump squirrel on the branch a over her head. She bunched her muscles and leapt onto the branch. The squirrel darted to the end of the branch and lept from the current tree to the next. Daringly, Jaywing raced after it and lept the branch. But before she made it, the branch snapped under her weight and she fell. The ground came faster than she ever imagined. It wasn't that far down, but it was far enough to hurt a cat. Jaypaw lay on the ground, the breath knocked from her chest.
