Embergaze nodded then lifted her head up "Hm.." she mumbled. "Frostpetal!" she called out before she looked at Nightpaw. "Who do you think we should send out with Frostpetal and Peonydapple? I'll be sending them on a border patrol." she said. Since she had taken over as Nightpaw's mentor she had tried to include her when she made patrols. She thought it was an excellent skill for any young cat to have, what would happen if a deputy was gone and no one was sure how to make proper patrols??

Frostpetal stood up and chuckled "Alright let-" but before she could finish her sister called out to her. Rolling her eyes she snorted "Always gotta be first." she purred before she gently bumped her shoulder against Peonydapple's. "Lets go right this second then." she said with a soft laugh before she padded over to Embergaze and Nightpaw.

"Oh nonsense!" Bayclaw retorted. "You'd make an excellent mentor!" she insisted. "I'm sure the first one is always the hardest but, you just need to believe in yourself." she said. Giving the other warrior a small smile before she spoke again "I'm sure you'd do lovely. And hey! Who knows? Maybe you'll be able to mentor a kit soon, maybe a shyer one? You could help each other." she said softly. "I believe we can learn just as much from an apprentice as they can learn from us. I mean, you're never really done learning in life. It's just one big experience!" Bayclaw's eyes were bright as she spoke. The blue-grey she-cat had a thirst for knowledge that never seemed to stop. And she was always looking for something to learn or to talk about.

Swiftleap chuckled softly "Even as great as me?" he echoed "Oh I think not! I think you'll both surpass me in no time and be even better warriors." he said as he watched Volekit assuming he was pretending to go after a butterfly or another insect. "I'm sure you boys will love being apprentices, it was a lot of fun when Hawktalon and I got to be apprenticed together." he said. He conveniently left out Reedpaw, he didn't want to mention his deceased sister, especially when their own sister and his daughter would one day share that very same name. He wasn't ready to tell them about her, especially not so soon after they'd lost Squirrelkit.

Hawktalon ducked his head in embarrassment at Hiddenstorm then went up, once it was over with he looked at Rosepaw, smiling slightly. "Well the days finally come, huh kid?" he asked with a small laugh. "I can't believe you're six moons old already.." he shook his head. "Okay so, welcome to your first day of training I guess. Don't know how much we'll train with your siblings, you'll need to be able to work with them but also without them. Though i'm not too concerned about you." he said.

Stormyskies simply nodded, then focused on the meeting. Once it was over he turned his back to Desertstar, he wasn't a real fan of the tom. Or at least, not right now, he knew it wasn't Desertstar's fault his sister left.. And he didn't create the traditions that drove her away.. And as Bayclaw would say, Desertstar has been like kin to his kin, they had grown up together. Bayclaw thought very highly of Desertstar, and apparently so had his Mother and Grandmother. So it's not like he could even say anything to him, about how it wasn't even his fault but he was mad at him anyways. Shaking his head he let out a sigh, his eyes trailing to Embergaze for a moment. Should he go see if he was on patrol?

Embergaze smiled faintly at Frostpetal and Peonydapple, though Embergaze had gotten closer to her sister Frostpetal in recent moons she was still unaware of the true nature of Frostpetal's relationship with Peonydapple. They were still building up trust between the two of them still. "I'll be having both of you on a border patrol, Nightpaw will help me pick out who else should go with you. I'm going to send out a slightly bigger patrol than we normally do. Outsider numbers are on the rise. And with leaf bare approaching prey is going to be scarce soon. So we might have more loners appearing in our territory. I want us to be prepared." she explained. Embergaze was pretty practical with things, taking the time to expect a problem and create a solution for it before they truly ran into the problem. Though she was aware it was likely loners stole prey from time to time she knew it would be much more likely now.

Rainy looked a little surprised, it had been a while since anyone had spoken of Pebblepool, a sad look crossed her face and she felt her heart clench. Pebblepool had been a wonderful Mother, and Rainy had been proud to be her daughter, horrified to find out she wasn't really. Pebblepool had been unable to handle the death of her daughter Petalpelt, and the suspected death of Bayclaw before she was found after Pebblepool's death. In her last moments Pebblepool had revealed to Rainy and Stormyskies, both kits about to be apprenticed, that she was their grandmother, not their Mother. And that Petalpelt had truly been their Mother, but because of the traditions of the clan, Petalpelt would have been exiled, she didn't have an assigned mate when they were born. So Pebblepool, a devoted queen, took the two in and told the clan they were hers. She had made them promise to never tell anyone.. But what did that matter now? Pebblepool and Petalpelt were both dead.. Shaking her head she snapped out of her train of thought. "Um.. Yeah.. Her last litter.." she said softly. "I live out here. I'm not apart of DuskClan anymore. I left, I don't agree with assigned mates it's barbaric! It destroys lives and I wouldn't stand for it!" she deflated a bit after that "I'm sorry though.. I don't remember you.."
