A small, hidden sanctuary in the magical Scottish Moors of yesteryear.
This is where Faean Ponies were made by an equine-loving "Light Witch" who inhabited the land all by her lonesome.
Humans didn't dare to wander near her special corner of Moors for they were certain the witch would capture them.
For what, you ask? Some thought she would delight in the torture those who hung among the rafters of her shack in hideously small cages. Others said she fancied using human bits in her brews & potions. Zafelle, however, was nothing like they imagined.
She was, in fact, a kind, timid being who yearned for companionship.
The wildlife throughout the land were far to skittish or fierce to befriend.
One fateful day, Zafelle grew so lonely that she ventured out of her rickety, yet cozy, home & into the human's area.
On the way to town, she spotted a farm. To her excitement, there was a farmer & his family working their fields. She wandered ever closer to the perimeter of the fields, hopeful once again to find friendship after many failed attempts. As she grew near, one of the children took notice of the witch causing her to let out a frightened scream. Her family immediately came to terms with the "danger" drawing closer and they fled toward the town, making a scared ruckus as they went.
"Oh Zafelle.." sighed the lonely witch to herself, "Why do you think these people shall ever change their minds of your terribly dark reputation?.. Silly witch!"
Feeling defeated yet again, Zafelle turned torward the family's barn. Maybe there would be some good potion ingredients to scavenge. She approached the heavy wooden door and struggled a bit to slide it to the side. Carefully peering around the edge of the door, she saw movement in one of the stalls. Cautious but curious, she moved forward..
"Clunk Clop Clip Clunk!"
"Oh dear!" Zafelle exclaimed as she tottered backward to the exit, nearly falling.
As she was in the process of registering this all, she realized that the commotion was merely a horse that had stood up from resting in it's stall. What a feeling of relief washed over her after her actualization.
"Hello sweet thing." She cooed to the animal.
A Palomino mare stood in the stall awaiting an offering of hay or grain.
Wanting to oblige, Zafelle turned to a hay stack for a handful of golden goodness when she heard enraged shouting coming from the distance.

Currently, there are only a few traits that have been discovered.
One would assume they will become more exotic with time and selective breeding!
Faean Ponies can be any color or pattern imaginable, including fantasy types.
They are generally the size of a teacup dog with stallions being the larger of the two genders.
1. 𝓝𝓸𝓻𝓶𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓼 - This is the most common type of Faean Pony. They simply appear to be a very tiny light breed of horse.
2. *ℕ𝔼𝕎* 𝓜𝔂𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓬 𝓣𝓪𝓲𝓵 - The distinctive tails of these ponies set them apart from the rest. They resemble that of a lion. [This is a trait that can be had in conjunction with any other trait(s)]
3. 𝓒𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓲𝓭𝓪𝓵 - These antlered Faeans are slightly more rare than their plain headed counterparts.
4. 𝓤𝓷𝓲𝓬𝓸𝓻𝓷 - Like the Cervidals, Unicorns have an extravagant head piece except theirs' is in the form of a sparkling, possibly magical horn.
5. 𝓟𝓮𝓰𝓪𝓼𝓾𝓼 - The Pegasi can infrequently be seen zipping around the moors as fast as their little feathered wings will take them. Sometimes they are mistaken for hummingbirds.
6. 𝓐𝓵𝓲𝓬𝓸𝓻𝓷 - Almost unseen altogether, the rarest of the Faeans that have been discovered so far would be the Alicorn. They are rumored to be the result of a Unicorn & Pegasus mating.
7. *ℕ𝔼𝕎* 𝓕𝓮𝓪𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓭 - These are draft type ponies with feathering on the feet & under their chins. They usually have a shorter mane & docked tail. [This is a trait that can be had in conjunction with any other trait(s)]
