Mallory | Female | 17 years oldAwake but still dreaming
Mallory has tons of friends! So many that she can't keep track of them! Some are big and some are small but they all have something in common. They're all fluffy and furry! And although their glassy eyes and stitched mouths don't say much, she knows they are always there for her. Because Mallory has no friends aside from her large collection of teddy bears.
Mallory hasn't had the best start to life. Her parents abandoned her when she was very young and has spent most of her life in an orphanage. She was never good at making real friends either and the other kids often bullied her. However, her parents did leave her with a small teddy bear. It has soft brown fur and deep dark browns. This bear, who she calls Christopher, is her closest friend. No matter what life threw at her, she always had Christopher.
Christopher wasn't the only teddy as Mallory had grown quite the collection. She spends her days in a fantasy. A fantasy where she has many friends and loved by all. As an escape from reality, she told her teddies anything and everything.
Although awake, she chooses not to live in reality. Instead, she dreams of a life she doesn't have with imaginary friends. But she's happy living this way and no one tries to stop her.
Concept designOne day, Mallory awoke in her place she had never seen before. She was snapped back to reality and was obviously not in the orphanage anymore. Oddly enough, every single teddy bear was here with her. Confused, she explored the room she was in. There was a comfortable looking bed among other things normal bedrooms have.
Suddenly, a door swung open. Two people she had never seen before came in. She hid in her teddies. One of the strange people laughed while the other stepped forward.
"There's no need to afraid," she said. "You are safe and protected here."
"What is this place?" she asked with a soft shaky voice.
"A refuge where no one can hurt you. And your new home."
"You can live with allll your friends!" the other strange person said, pointing to the teddies Mallory sat in. She didn't understand but as long she was safe and with the teddy bears, she was happy. A new chapter in Mallory's life was to begin, and for once she were to feel love outside of a dream. 408/1000 (somewhere around 400 anyway)
