For this particular competition, i'd like family relationships! Friends can be included, but do keep in mind that the family lives in a secluded old castle in the swamps, it needs to make sense.

The 'evil' god worshipped by Amarant, he is the god of destruction but is not fully evil. His intentions are very unknown and though deemed 'evil', he is not always out to hurt everyone. He is very kind/sympathetic towards mortals.

The goddess who Miette worships. She very frequently appears in various forms to mortals in order to manipulate the world in her will. Her formal title is the goddess of love and fate.

The general consensus most individuals come to after meeting, or more accurately, coming to know Cerin, is he is far from the most genuine of creatures to grace the world. A cunning opportunist with an insatiable thirst for growth and expansion, it perhaps comes at no surprise that many find his personality to be a difficult one to come to terms with, to say the least. With a keen intelligence surpassing the average, and a very well developed understanding of this, Cerin has been known to be a rather condescending individual, looking distastefully down at a great deal of others. It's a quality not the most appreciated by most individuals, and quite understandably so. It is perhaps for this reason Cerin has learned to be has charismatic as he is. Exuding a certain confident charm, it often requires little effort on his end to manipulate those around him, and he is most certainly not above lying in order to achieve his goals. After all, in his mind, it is the end results that matter the most, regardless of the means that are required to accomplish them. Creating a persona of sorts in order to captivate the attention of others, his interactions and words are often merely acts in his mind, an ongoing drama that simply captures the finer details of his life. As such, it is a trait that provides Cerin with a certain distance with others, making it quite the task to become close to this reserved individual. Not an impossible undertaking mind you, but certainly a difficult one all the same.

Finding himself rather uninterested in the forging of genuine relationships, there can be none that deny that Cerin is a rather narcissistic individual. Cerin's values his sharp wit and cunning above all else, and as such sees those possessing lesser intellects as rather undeserving individuals, mere pawns to be played in the game of life. For all it's negatives however, this particular characteristic does in some cases have it's advantages. Cerin's possesses full confidence in himself, and in his ability to accomplish almost any task he sets his mind to. It's a quality that's allowed his stubbornness to blossom, and it's true to say that even in the face of failure Cerin is not one to give up without a fight; or even with, for that matter. Paired with a seemingly endless patience, in that regard Cerin truly is a force to be reckoned with. Perhaps this trait is even more so exemplified with his ability to bear a grudge long past it's time, and the inexplicable need to exact revenge on those that have done him wrong. It is not a trait that has had many opportunities to truly emerge, with little more than sibling rivalry to fray his nerves, but it is one that resides beneath the surface all the same.

Despite possessing a number of traits from the dark triad, however, it would be incorrect to assume that Cerin has nothing but malevolent characteristics. Machiavellianism and narcissism do indeed run prominent in his personality, but it is the third trait that he is most lacking in. For all his cold and reserved nature, Cerin is one truly capable of love, whether or not he appreciates that fact. Seeing love and affection as little more than chemical responses does not prevent one from experiencing such emotions, a trait Cerin regards, in his own mind, as one of his greatest downfalls. He is not one to value decisions made on emotional whims over facts and figures presented, and his thoughts often derive from a very logical form of thinking. This, however, does little to limit the creativity possible within his own mind. Even when testing the boundaries of reality, Cerin is a remarkably inventive creature, with grand expectations of both himself and those around him. Expanding on that, he is also a visionary with a passion for following through on plans, as ideas without proper action are worthless indeed. After all, there are countless ideas that circle the world wide. The ones that leave their mark are the ones owned by those willing to chase them, bringing forth a mere concept into the realm of reality.

With a sharp mind comes a near constant curiousity, and despite being raised in near solitude with his family, Cerin does indeed possess an incessant interest in the outside world. For all his facts and figures, and as much as he rather enjoys regarding himself as a sophisticated and well versed individual, he does suffer from a certain naivety that goes hand and hand with isolation. While he would very much like to explore and experience much of what the world has to offer, in many ways he lacks both means and knowledge. Intelligent indeed, and possessing a knack for being able to manipulate what few social interactions he has managed to have, together these traits can still not quite make up for what is lost in a life of seclusion. Culture shock is inevitable regardless of where he chooses to go, and even the notion of getting anywhere else is an entirely different problem on it's own. Though he would be rather disinclined to admit it, combined these factors have produced a fair amount of fear in regards to travel. Perhaps one day it'll be his curiousity that gets the better of him, but for now he simply contents himself in creating projects and countless other tasks to occupy himself well into the dead of night.

•Of all his immediate family, it is perhaps his father that Cerin is most alike to. In some ways intentional and others just gleaned over the years, Cerin's personality was very much influenced by his father's presence growing up. He holds a deep respect for Amarant's calculating and manipulative behaviour, learning with fascination and modelling his behaviour. While at times these strong similarities can place a strain on their relationship, on the whole Cerin and his father possess a rather solid relationship. At a young age Cerin became enthralled with the notion of the dark arts, and while hasn't thrown himself into it with quite the same vigour and devotion as his father, he certainly respects Amarant's passion for it. That being said, if there was to be one thing Cerin could criticize his father for, it would be that he does not always go as far as he could, perhaps not quite reaching his full potential despite his big talk. In many ways Cerin is no better, believing himself to be more than he is, but it is a characteristic Cerin fully intends to kick.

•While he would be quite loathe to admit it, Cerin is, in many ways, a mother's boy. While perhaps not always the first to willingly show affection, he does in fact love his mother, and respects her proud and fiery passion. If there was ever one that has made him question his own moral values, it would most certainly be her. However, despite this at times his own strongly formulated opinions have come into conflict with hers. It's lead to some tense times, debating fervently over the very existence or significance of various spiritual and religious ideologies and figures. Like father like son perhaps, as many of these debates are rather similar in intensity and subject as the very ones Amarant and Miette formed their close bond over. In many ways their morals and beliefs conflict with one another, but that's not to say it adversely affects the familial love they share. After all, at the end of the day, she still is and always be Cerin's mother, and as such she is among the few he does bear true respect for.

•No sibling relationship is without their rough patches, and Tin'Qiq and Cerin's is no exception. Aside from their parents, Tin'Qiq is easily the individual he's spent the most time with, and it would be true to say their relationship has been trying at times. Cerin is very much fond of time kept to himself, and disturbances, even if it's the light hearted chatter of his sister, do not often go appreciated. That being said, for as many difficult times the two have had, there are just as many, if not more, good times to show for. Cold though he may try to act, especially towards his sister of all people, Cerin certainly does have a soft spot for his twin. Although that may not mean he's not above manipulation in order to gain her favour at times, Cerin does in fact have a rather protective side to him, one rarely shown to any other individual. Though he would never admit it to her face, Cerin does at times rather enjoy her upbeat and can do attitude, bringing a bit of light into his world on the dreariest of days.

Why I Want Him: I didn't enter this competition because he's edited, I entered because I liked the family's background and I thought it was really cool. I wouldn't trade him for the world if I was allowed to have him. and I really like the neat family background behind it. it's really cool to see his parent's history and the gods worshiped and the gods themselves personalities. at first it was super hard for me to ever come up with a good form. but I seem to work best at the last minuet. i'm sorry for one thing if my form wasn't what you had invisioned for him. I don't ever really mean to misinterpret the family, sometimes it happens. for him I invisioned someone who secretly worshipped his god while also trying to carry out his own missions in life. those of which he's relying on his god to give him guidance and I can see where his god would probably want nothing to do with him as he may not be yet worthy of 'speaking' or 'seeing' him [however this goes, let me know if i'm wrong.]

so with this I, raegami, will keep Kaiser with me for as long as life allows me, and I will not trade him away to anyone. ever.

Personality: Kaiser is a man to be feared. he barely shows respect of anyone unless it is to his superiors of the family and his god. he rarely shows any need to go out and do what the commoners do, feeling that he will do what his god bids, until he is of no use for him. Kaiser wont speak unless spoken to. and doesn't have a mouth. he keeps his feelings bottled inside, and will obediently and blindly do what others tell him to do. anyone who is superior to him, he will do as you wish. Kaiser rarely makes friends because of this, rarely showing emotion, and being vague with everything he does. Talking to him results in one sided conversations and the occasional grunt of disapproval. Kaiser does tend to come out and hurt people, if his superior wishes it. he follows the leader and doesn't ask questions or complain. no matter how idiotic the request. he may not show much for emotion but inside his mind it's a working rollercoaster. he's quite smart with everything he does, breaking it down to the smallest thing, even if it's simple as moving a box, or wielding a sword. he never miscalculates, and that is a flaw. because someone so perfect will always have some sort of imperfection. Kaiser rarely does anything without permission, and even then he double checks and does his instructions to the letter. overall, Kaiser acts much like a robot, and doesn't have a care for much besides carrying out orders.

History [short]: Kaiser was brought up in the family he has known for years. he wasn't big on necromancy for awhile before he really started looking into what his father did for a living. because of that, Kaiser began to get interested in what his father was doing. he spent most of his time shadowing and idiolizing his father, always following in his footsteps and learning everything he could. he never asked questions, believing it wasn't a necessity, and therefore learned on his own without much aide. he kept to himself mostly, and did mini rituals in his room to try to connect to the god his father worked for. all to no avail. even now he keeps trying to worship his god ang get his attention to be able to one day serve him for eternity.

Likes: Kaiser "enjoys" [using the word lightly] participating in candel rituals and other things to try and connect with his god. Kaiser also induges in using candels to test his strength on trust with his god. he never falters in his faith for his god, and keeps track of his das trying to connect to him by using these candels as a calendar / marker.

Amarant - with Kaiser's passion for Amarant in full bloom he tries his hardest to keep his emotions to himself. as to not disrupt any realtions Amarant has with him. Kaiser doesn't follow him around as much as he used to, but he still looks up to him like a god. Kaiser has come to him for small amounts of aid, weather it was advice or a question that pertained to Marchosias. Kaiser feels that he can count on his father to be there for him, but not a need. Rarely does Kaiser impose on Amarant's business, feeling no need for his father to bother with him when he has things of his own to do, so he keeps his problems to himself unless he absolutely needs to ask him for help. Because of his interest in his father, he will always be ready to assist him if he ever succeeds in taking over the world.

[as a note: When it comes to all relationships, Kaiser is large;y independent. ]

Miette - with Miette he always treats her like a lady. doing things that he believes she may need help with, and often accomplishing most tasks before his mother ever wakes. Kaiser rarely asks Miette for help with anything, the same with Amarant, and he knows they are divided on the worshipped god. Kaiser shows her as much affection as needed, and often treats her with the utmost respect with it comes to pleasing his dear mother. he tries to keep his shinanagans to a minimum when it comes to her, and keeps most trivial matters off her mind Kaiser cannot bear the though of his mother worrying about him so he keeps her aware of what he's doing through owl or dove-transported letters to the castle when he's on his trips. His mother, is dear to him, as is his father and he would never wish ill will on them, for any reason. his sister also.

Tin'Quin - Kaiser teases Tin as often as needed, even though she is the older of the two [if that's ok]. Kaiser holds his sister close to him, and will always jump in to protect her if the need arises, just like for the rest of his family. Kaiser shows respect to her, but teases her as a sibling, not a superior. Kaiser goes to her most for advice on trivial things, feeling that he shouldn't bother his parents and instead go to the one he was born with. his other half. if asked about Tin, Kaiser always speaks with a firm sense of pride, and admiration for his sister, and a hint of jealousy as she is the elder of the two. Kaiser doesn't impose any ill will on her, and never will. he deems her a fair maiden often.

Marchosais - Kaiser worships him, greatly and makes sure to follow his rule through his father. Kaiser indeed follows and bends to Marchosais's will and does as he states. Kaiser has not yet been granted the blessing of speaking to Marchosias in person but he does through his father. He follows him blindly, and believes that he is a pawn in Marchosias's end game, whatever that may be. Kaiser doesn't fully believe that Marchosias is evil, but all beings have somesort of dark secret don't they? Kaiser will always follow, and have faith in Marchosias, because he is his god.

Serafina - Kaiser may not have a reason to wish ill will against Serafina, but he does not worship her. he does not believe he has a connection to her as he does with Marchosias and will only anger her if he tried. He believes he isn't worthy of being a follower of Serafina, and will not try to connect to her.

Grandmother Ezra - Kaiser does not have many connections with Ezra but treats her with the utmost respect as she is his elder. Ezra does not hold a will to anger or upset her, and does as she bids when she comes over. Rarely does Kaiser meet with Ezra alone, but he still holds her dear.

Grandfather Rhae - Kaiser holds a great respect for him, and he knows that he must not anger his grandfather. Kaiser keeps from making Rhae angry, and does as he bids when he bids it.

[He holds nothing against either of his GrandParents and therefore interacts with them as often as he can.]
