Name you'll give the creature:
Crossfire
Personality you think the creature should have:
She is a spitfire, but also very earthy. She loves nature but she has a big temper and you would not want to get on her bad side. She is very independent and likes to do things her way.
Why do you want this creature?
I wanted to write a story and bump up the post.
History/ Woo for the Creature:
Crossfire.
Crossfire had always been on the move. Ever since she was born she had been a whirlwind of motion. She was always leaping, pouncing, batting, and biting-much to her littermate's discontent. As she grew older she only became bolder. She was always exploring and straying farther and farther away from her mother. She loved to run and feel the icy wind slice through her fur, the cold fighting her every more. She loved the freedom, the wildness of running; just running. Running with no purpose or direction, no goal or plans, just her paws pounding the earth into submission, the breeze her bitter enemy, and her breath hot and fast in her throat. This was what she lived for.
One day Crossfire ran so far and fast she imagined she left a trail of smoking paw prints behind her. She ran farther than she had ever run before, she even ran past the river- the end of their territory. Suddenly found herself looking at the edge of the world. Well, it wasn't really the end of the world but that was what it looked like. She stood on a steep cliff that looked out over the ocean. Crossfire gaped in awe; she had never seens such beauty. The way the dying sun's light struck the water it looked like there were flames dancing across the waves. Crossfire couldn't believe the beauty of such flames. She stared at it for a long time, mesmerized. Suddenly she had to share their beauty with the world.
She turned around and raced back towards her home, desperatly trying to find her mother to show her, before the beautiful phantom flames had disapeared. She ran even faster then she had before and imagined that the forest was becomeing hot and dry because of the flaming trail of steps she left behind. No, wait. she thought, skidding to a halt. The forest really is becoming hotter!Crossfire looked wildly around. Then she saw it. A tall column of smoke reaching up to the sky.
Crossfire gasped in horror. She raced forward again and started shouting desperatly "Mother! Mother!" She felt the air become scorching, and became surrounded by smoke. She raced into her old home and found it completely in flammes. She cried for her family once more before coughing on the scathing smoke. She raced out and looked all around for her family but despite all her efforts she could not find them. It was almost as if they had turned to smoke themselves. Crying bitter tears she turned and raced out of the forest. It pained her to leave her home and her family, if they were still alive, but she knew she could not stay any longer, her breath was getting heavier and thicker by the second. She worried that if she stayed any longer she wouldn't be able to heave another labored breath.
So Crossfire closed her eyes to the stinging smoke and ran. She ran blindly, bouncing off of trees and anything else that got in her way. She ran until the forest became cool. She ran until she crossed the river. She kept running untill she reached the cliff. Finally she sat down and wept. She cried for how the fire could be so cruel. She cried for how it could look so beautiful and ethereal out on the waves and how it could tempt her away from her family, but how it had also taken her home and her family away. She cried for how the different fires were just so at odds, they seemed to each be trying to out-do one another. One fought with beauty, the other with destruction. And she was just caught in the crossfire.
