Flinder was Born

On a chilly,damp April night......
Four little kittens were born and orphaned in the streets of a small town in Germany. Alas,none of the kittens survived except one.
Driving down the road that night,was a flower shop owner on her way to her flower shop again, not being able to pay for her apartment for the sixth time.
"What was that?!?!"she said seeing a little kitten on the side of the road
She quickly pulled over and found the little kitten in some Liliacs
The woman looked for the kitten's mother but alas lying in the road 50 feet ahead was a Cat dead.
Seeing how the kitten was blind until older,she picked her up.
"I'll name you Flieder."

Home Sweet Flower Shop

Flieder grew up to a beautiful young cat.....
She was known by everyone, and a friend to all.
Sitting in her favorite chair. The little cat slit her eyes and rested in the warm,sun.
The flowers in the flower shop filled the room with a beautiful smell that made the whole street seem like a dump.
What was beside the flower shop you say?
Baked goods in carts and in baskets. Alas,
Her owner still hadn't had enough money to live in her apartment so she was always yelling "Flowers and Gifts!"
"Flowers and gifts!"
Flieder wish she could help.
But what could a cat do?

As a few months came and gone,
Money was tighter.

Funny
Jack is a joker, she loves to crack jokes and make people laugh. She is very capable of making even the most hardened of souls laugh, as she can with her best friend. She has this uncanny ability with words, allowing her to mold unfortunate events and even death into a joke, bringing people from sadness and sometimes even making them laugh. No matter what the cost, Jack does her best to remain true to herself, and hilarious to everyone else.

Energetic
You could probably call Jack a hyperactive crazy mutt. She loves to bound about and never stops moving or fidgeting. If she had to sit still or be hurt in some way, she would probably get hurt. Jack constantly also has sudden bursts of her energetic personality, often whenever she is with Ajax, and she races about in circles around him then charges off at the nearest person, eager to see if they're committing crime.

Outgoing
Jack enjoys going places and meeting new people. No matter where she is, she likes trying to make new friends. Although sometimes this can be a problem, as she occasionally tries making friends with the criminals her best friend Ajax catches. Although she may not seem the life of a party on the outside, inside Jack's always partying. To her, life is one big party to spoil yourself and meet new people.

Friendly
Very friendly at all times is exactly what Jack is. She loves meeting new people and getting to know them. This has gotten her into trouble before though, especially with a skunk who clearly did not want to play. Jack tried to become less friendly like her friend Ajax, but when she puts on his rock hard emotionless face, she falls to the floor laughing and continues gladly greeting random folk. Jack doesn't want to be unfriendly, and she wants Ajax to be friendlier.

Fair
If Ajax, Jack's best friend, is doing his justice work and seems unfair about something, Jack is liable to butt in and settle things fairly. She is determined, like Ajax, to end the evil in the world, but mostly because she wants the Earth to be a friendly, happy place for everyone. While she may not seem like the most attentive dog in the world, she does pay enough attention to decide the fairest of punishments for even the worst of criminals.

Curious
No, Jack isn't going to hide her curiosity. What would be the point? Ajax knows she's curious. Jack is the kind of dog that would stick her nose everywhere to find out everything. Jack is most likely to be found poking into a hole in the ground and being sprayed by a skunk. Jack also knows that Ajax is as curious as her. In fact, Jack is liable to use his curiosity, making him explore things with her.

Rare(Hidden) Personalities
Sad
Energetic, friendly, and fair, but nowhere in Jack's normal bubbly personality do you see happy. Ever since her mother died, Jack has suffered quite a bit of stress and sometimes sits on top of a particular building and watches cars and other things. She wants desperately to tell Ajax why she seems so sad sometimes, but has trouble dealing with it. Jack doesn't like being sad, but it just happens.

Quiet
As with Jack's usual personality, you might expect her to be constantly talking and never shutting up. This isn't the case. Jack is actually very quiet, sometimes to the degree you don't notice she's there. Her "silent spell", as she chooses to call it, does not prevent her from still talking to people. She can actually speak pretty fluently with others.

Mysterious
Jack does not look or act mysterious in any way, most of the time. She actually hasn't told a soul her history, and doesn't plan on doing so. Jack is a mystery in herself. She wonders about her own past even though she knows it already. Jack sometimes mutters this little sentence to herself to see if it helps her remember. It never does really, but makes her feel good inside.
"Never mind my being a mystery, I still want to know my history."

In Denial
Jack doesn't want to admit it. She doesn't want to admit anything. She wants all the bad things to have been gone, and to not have happened. She denies their facts. She also denies Ajax the right to know much about her. Ajax only knows she had a mother and some siblings, and that Jack used to live in the suburbs, not the city. Jack denies him the right of knowing the rest of her past, as she has denied herself the right of admitting it.



Background/History [of pet]:
The Life of a Stray: Jack's Happily Ever After
Even as a pup, Jack knew she was destined for some kind of greatness.
Raised in an alley behind Antonio's Pizza, her mother, siblings and her were always pretty well fed. The pizza men were always glad to toss them a burnt pie or two, which they obligingly took.
Jack had been raised on the belief that as long as a dog had a good home and a good source of food, they didn't have to lose their freedom to humans for a scrap of meat. Every time her mother told her this, Jack would immediately reply.
"And because we have our freedom, unlike dogs in homes, we can do anything!"
Her mother would always laugh.
"Yes my little Jack. Now come, we have to get food for your younger sisters and brothers."
Jack always helped out with her siblings. She was the oldest, and felt she needed to protect them. Although the alley way was pretty safe already, sometimes another stray would wander in and threaten the family. Jack stood up to them, knowing she was strong for a little pup. While they were laughing their heads off at "The brave wee pup", her mother would leap in, blood red bandanna flapping, and whip her body in front of her children, growling for the intruders to leave. They always did, so Jack always felt safe.
Always felt safe...
Until her mother died.
Jack was about 9 months old when her mother died. She sat beside the tan dog as it panted in pain.
"Jack... Take my bandanna. It would look better on you."
Breathed her mother, removing her symbolizing bandanna and placing it around Jack's neck.
"Mum, please don't leave me. Who will protect my siblings? I surely cannot fight off the intruders without you."
"You must my little Jack."
Her mother had nuzzled her, and Jack gave a lick on her nose. Then... her mother's spirit lifted from the air, and her body went lifeless. Jack was left to fend for three other pups and herself, at nine months.
It was not nearly as bad as Jack had imagined. As if her mother's ghost hid the area, no other strays ever really appeared here. Jack and her siblings quickly grew up.
"We should stick together, my little family."
Jack always said. The pups had other ideas.
"Jack, we are going to have an adventure. We are older and stronger and faster, we can thrive on our own!"
The pups would insist. Then, one night, they truly did leave. Jack was a bit sad, but she didn't mind. Now she could concentrate on surviving as one instead of four. She thought it would be easier as a loner. Sadly, it wasn't for her, she needed someone.
Jack finally left the alley, bandanna tightly around neck and tail wagging eagerly.
"This is the day I have my own adventure!"
She barked in the wee hours of the morning. A man threw a bottle at her, luckily missing by quite a few feet. She continued, undeterred. This is my time, she thought. My time to be what I want to be. Jack walked along some of the busy streets, tail held tall, high stepping.
"This is my time!"
She howled happily. Despite the danger of the trip, she happily continued on. Forever curious. Forever in her own time.
Forever in her own time....
Jack gladly traveled, resting where she could and eating when food was available. A lot of people would stop seeing her and throw her some food. She would take it obligingly. To her, this world was beautiful. So wonderful and nice, full of good people and things. Truth was, she hadn't even left her old neighborhood. It was time.
Jack stood on the edge of her town, watching cars drive back and forth in and out. Beyond, down a gentle sloping hill lay a little city, with taller buildings than those Jack had ever seen. She reassured herself, cautiously preparing to take a step.
"I can do this. I will do this."
With that, Jack took her first step. She crossed the imaginary border between her old home and the "no man's land" ready to go to the city. She smiled happily as she stepped into the lush grass of the hill, seeing nothing but smooth sailing straight down to the city.
"I did it! I left! I can do anything! I'm unstoppable!"
She barked excitedly, taking off down the hill, gathering speed and quickly approaching the city below. The buildings grew larger as she went, until soon she was almost on top of them. She skidded to a halt, in front of a rather large office with drab grey walls and a zip on decorations.
"What is this place?"
Jack pondered curiously. She passed by the building. She was curious, confused, and tired. Despite. It was her turn to shine.
Her turn to shine...
Jack trotted along the city streets, watching people and zig zagging to avoid getting stepped on. The people here were a lot less friendly. They didn't even look at her, much less throw her some food. She continued, yet again undeterred, looking for somewhere to find food. As day became night and the sun disappeared to it's bed in the sky, Jack continued wandering, growing hungry.
She stopped at a small restaurant, sniffing around at the trash behind the place. A bounty of food lay inside. As she feasted, a man raced by the alley behind the diner, seeming to be running from something. A dog erupted from behind him. Jack followed, gleeful to have something to do. She chased the dog until he caught the man, and barked at the man as the dog snarled and bit his arm. A police man came by and took the other away, leaving the dog.
"Who are you"
Growled the dog, an emotionless frown set in his face.
"I'm Jack! It's a pleasure to meet you! Who are you?"
Jack grinned as she replied, being as nice as possible. The dog simply frowned again and started trotting off. She followed him.
"Hey! Where you going? Can I come? What do you do here?"
She asked the other a million questions. Finally he stopped and turned to her.
"Leave me alone kid. I have work to do as an unofficial police dog, and you aren't making my life any easier."
He snorted and continued walking. Intrigued, Jack followed him. Whatever he was doing, she wanted to help. She was now determined to make him trust her.
"I'll help you then"
She said calmly. He didn't reply.
Currently, Jack still follows him. She has learned his name, and he now even trusts her. She loves helping him with his work and taking down bad guys, but she's teaching Ajax, as he is called, to be softer and kinder. Jack is a stray, but to her it doesn't matter. This is Jack's happily ever after, the way she would want it.

I've been looking around for some nice characters that go with my style to spoil and love. This is exactly one of what I was looking for. I plan on using her and another dog character I'm after as best friends for art and such. I also want to archive her in my still very much in progress character website, which only has my fursona on it so far.

When I talk about Ajax,I am talking about a different character I am trying out for in a different thread. I went for him first and applied, then I saw Jack, and decided they would be perfect friends. I hope this is alright! Thank you~
