I am looking to adopt...
Kennel number:
P122
Name:
"Nero", it means "water" in Greek. I would also like to make him male instead of female.
Breed:
Thoroughbred stallion
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:
The first moment I saw Nero, I wanted him. I would've filled out a form last round but I hadn't looked this far. I just love how different he is; I've never seen a design like him before. He reminds me of a skeleton, like a hollow shell that needs to be filled. He will be my equine fursona's mate, if that's alright, and he will also have a home, like all of my other characters, on my thread.
Personality:
Nero is very quiet and usually withdrawn; he's more of a listener than a talker. He wants to stay a mystery to others, and hides behind his tough outer shell. He can tend to be aggressive, but it's a show. Once you get underneath his armor, he's very kind and gentle, and wants nothing more than to be appreciated even despite his strange appearance. Though he isn't always the best decision maker, he relies on logic and tries to keep emotions out of the equation as much as possible.
Likes:
#Honeysuckle, it reminds him of the home he can't remember.
#Quiet and the sound of running water; it calms him.
#Hummingbirds and insects, espcially dragonflies.
#Sleeping; it gives him time to pretend he was someone else.
#The twilight; right after sunset but right before dark. It's very peaceful, that one hour of the day where everything is calm and silent. The hour the world is bathed in a shade of grey.
#Latin; during his time in the lackies' care, he met another horse they had stolen who was an imported Arabian gelding and knew the Latin language. During that year and a half, Nero learned to speak it fluently.
Dislikes:
.His looks; he's very unhappy with himself.
.Unnecessary noise; part of the time he even dislikes music of any kind or caliber.
.Criticism; he's already critical of himself enough.
.Watching equestrian events; it makes him jealous even though both Zemiya and Amethyst know he has loads of show jumping talent, he's just not confident enough to give it a shot.
Brief History:
Nero was born of a famous racing stallion and and show jumping mare, both coming from the finest bloodlines that money could buy. He was born under the name "Gunslinger's Rise", a sparkling white Thoroughbred colt, with long legs perfect for show jumping and a beautifully elegant bearing. The family he belonged to was humble, not ones to flaunt their winnings or their assets, and the youngest girl of the family loved him to bits. But the girl's so-called friend had been jealous of the colt, knowing he would grow up to be a better jumper than her mare. So as soon as he was weaned, the girl's friend had her father arrange for the colt to be stolen. The lackies that were hired were told to purchase paint that would hide his coat and prevent the first family from ever finding him again. Sadly, the two weren't as smart as he gave them credit for. They bought dye in blue and black, going too crazy with the design. The lackies held the colt until he was older and the first family had stopped searching for him, not bothering to ever wash the dye off, only re-apply it. Then, when the second family came to claim their prize near to a year and a half later, the dye had permanently stained his beautiful white coat. Angrily he was set loose and chased off, left to fend for himself for three years until animal control caught him and retrained him. Nero still hated how he looked, blatantly ignoring any shiny surface he passed, and the emotional hurt from being chased off still haunted his mind. After his successful retraining, he was taken to the nearest pound with space.
Other:
His favorite/theme song is Bless the Child by Nightwish.

History:
Where was he? Nero looked around the strange forest he had run into. He didn't know where he was. The last thing he remembered was jumping the fence of his dirty, hard-packed dirt corral, taking off into the approaching darkness. Now the moon had risen high, barely visible through the thick deciduous canopy above his head. The little bit of mottled moonlight that managed to work it's way through illuminated the white of his face and the design of his coat. He had slowed from his extended run, his legs aching and his stomach growling. He was hungry and very, very thirsty, but he had no idea which way to go. In the darkness, everything looked the same. He gave a tired sigh and pressed on as he felt tears prick the back of his eyes. He wanted to go home, go back to the nice stall he occupied as a yearling, the lush fields he had grazed with his dam in, and even the training he had eventually enjoyed, despite the original discomfort of the bit. His feet began to trudge through the mud and fallen leaves as he grew more and more tired, fatigue catching up to him. Finally he found a play suitable to lay down, his head resting on the ground. The tears finally escaped from his eyes and dripped down his face, the stallion utterly silent as he slowly fell asleep.

Mottled sunlight shone through the canopy, seeming to sparkle and dance over Nero's face and neck.
