PS Adoptables is a place where you can adopt, breed, and order customized
adoptables known as Pixel Squiks, Pixel Squirrels, Pixel Squittens, and Pixel
Squinx. Though the Squirrels have been around since 2013, Squiks, Squittens, and
Squinx are new additions to the island's inhabitants that can now be adopted as well.

In this our latest revival of PS Adoptables, some changes have been made to how
we run things. With mine and my staff's busy schedules, our goal is to provide
quality adopts over quantity. That might mean a less active thread, but I hope
you all still pop by occasionally to see what we have in store. ♥

Pixel Squirrels V.5

The Pixel Squik is a newly discovered species on Pixel Island.
These creatures are cat-sized and very peculiar; possessing
short limbs and bulky bodies, they are terrible sprinters and
can manage only a trot at fastest. Squiks of any gender are
likely to have ivory horns, though they appear more for
attracting mates than self defense.

Since Squiks were brought to the main land, they have
vastly taken over the spotlight as most popular pet -- a title
originally belonging to that of the Pixel Squirrel. But not a
lot more is known about the species, and taming one up for
adoption is bound to be a challenge. Will you try your hand
at adopting a Squik?

The Pixel Squitten is a feline-like species that inhabits
Pixel Island. These cat-like animals are omnivorous with a
preference for greenery and bugs, and spend a large portion
of their day hunting in the undergrowth. Their wings serve
little to no known purpose, being incapable of flight.

Squittens are a compact animal that can weigh anywhere
from twenty to thirty pounds. Despite their size, they are
incredibly timid and prone to hiding. They have also been
known to change their hunting territories and sleeping
habits to avoid human interaction. But in recent days, it
seems a few have decided to give people a chance, and
have left Pixel Island to be adopted.

The infamous Pixel Squirrel was originally the only species of Pixel
Island that was commonly adopted as pets back on the main land.
These palm-sized animals whom lack hind legs make excellent and
very docile companions for those who wanted something easier to
manage than more traditional pets, such as dogs.

There are many different kinds of Pixel Squirrel, ranging from what
is known as the Simple breed, to ones such as the Lionhead, the
Winged, or even the tremendously fluffy Stray. You may even
encounter Squirrels with a mutation known as "BFL", which causes
them to stop growing. These Squirrels are barely the size of a
gerbil, though bare similar likenesses to the larger breeds.

The Pixel Squinx are the oldest species to ever be documented
living on Pixel Island. Built similarly to the lynx, a key trait that
sets them apart (apart from their much smaller size) are the
gemstones every Squinx carries. Much like otters and their
special rocks, the Squinx's gemstones hold major significance to
them as a species -- sometimes being passed down through the
generations, or presented as a gift to a mate. These omnivorous
felines used to be abundant on the surface; only somewhat
territorial, they had no natural predators, and lived in harmony
with the other island inhabitants. That is, until humans found the
island. Believing their lives to be at risk, the Squinx moved their
burrows underground; staying in the tunnels underneath Pixel
Island like the rabbits they hunted, and only emerging at night.

These Squinx became somewhat of a myth around the island, with
very few people having ever seen one. But after having their gem
quarry depleted by unknowing explorers, the Squinx returned to
the surface in search of help. Now it looks like they're here to stay.

The Adoption Center is a place where new and long-term members of the PS community
can adopt from free litter releases. Though litters do not have a specific release date or
time, you can typically find one new release each week. You may also come to find raffle
litters, blind releases, and litters as a result of our Custom Litter and Second Generation
features.

If you are worried about missing a release, you can reserve from upcoming litters
containing five or more adoptables. Reserves cost 10C$, and all C$ goes to the artist who
designed the litter. PM ▸Atlas. to see the upcoming litters, or with any questions.

Adoption rules and guidelines:
- The adoption form must be filled out completely and correctly.
- Adoptions run on a first come, first serve basis unless stated otherwise.
- Erasing the code word from forms will render them invalid.
- Editing forms is allowed, just quote them and state what was changed.
- You may adopt once from one litter every 24 hours unless stated otherwise.

Raffle litter rules and guidelines:
- Adhere to all regular adoption rules unless stated otherwise.
- You may enter for all the raffle prizes, but may win only one per litter.
- Raffle winners will be announced at the litter code drop.
- Some raffles have specific requirements, such as non-owners only. If
you do not meet these requirements and enter for it anyway, your form
will be ignored at the drawing.

Customs are made-to-order adopts that can be purchased with Custom Tokens. Customs can take anywhere from one day to four weeks to be completed, based on complexity, staff schedules, and if there is an event going on. Edits can be made to a non-animated custom after completion. All edits to animated customs must be requested before the animation is finished.

Custom Litter forms are open!



Custom Litters are a new feature which allows for adopters to commission a litter of their
own design. By using a Voucher, you can design a custom on both lines and species of your
choosing, that will then be released in a batch of re-colors as a public litter. Custom Litter
sizes range from 3 to 10 adopts, depending on complexity of the initial design.

Custom Litters rules and guidelines:
- I have the right to decline any Custom Litter.
- Custom Litters can only be ordered when the feature is open.
- You cannot request a Custom Litter that resembles an existing adopt.
- Your initial design will appear as the first adopt in a Custom Litter, alongside a reserve
stating your ownership of it. Your initial design will not be up for adoption.
- As these are public litters, it is recommended not to order Custom Litters of your own
OCs or fursonas unless you are completely okay with others adopting a re-color of it.
- It is recommended to request designs that have the most potential for re-colors. If the
design can't be replicated with palettes that make sense, completion will take longer
and the litter will be smaller.
- You must have an updated co-op archive post containing the corresponding Voucher
being used, or the Credit equivalent. However, the currency being offered will not be
charged until the litter is finished and submitted for adoption.

All Custom Litter orders are

Breeding rules and guidelines:
- Species cannot interbreed -- they must be the same.
- Siblings and relatives (same litter release, or prior breeding) cannot breed.
- In order for an animation to be passed down, one parent must be animated.
- You must own the adopts being bred, or have permission from their owner(s).
- Adopts can only be bred three times with potions, with the same or different partners.
- You must have an updated co-op archive post containing the potion(s) being used, or the Credit equivalent.
- It is recommended to pair adopts with either complimentary color palettes, or a wide range of colors. Adopts with similar color schemes will yield a smaller variety of offspring.

Second Generation forms are open!



Second Generation litters, or 2nd Gen litters, are a new take on an old PS feature. By
using Candy, you can breed your adopts and release their offspring as publicly available
litters. This method allows you to breed your adopts as many times as you would like,
with no set maximum. However, after the three initial breedings, offspring run the risk
of being born with mutations. Some mutations include an increase in BFL chance, two
tails, two heads, horns, wings, extra or missing limbs, and animations without the need
of a parent being animated. Certain Candy increases the chance of mutations occurring.

Custom Litters rules and guidelines:
- Species cannot interbreed -- they must be the same.
- Siblings and relatives (same litter release, or prior breeding) cannot breed.
- You must own the adopts being bred, or have permission from their owner(s).
- Though this feature adds the chance of mutations, they are not guaranteed in every litter.
- You (and any additional owner of the breeding pair) will be sent the completed litter to
each choose one adopt from it. These adopts will be included in the litter release, but
will not be available for others to adopt.
- As these are public litters, it is recommended not to order a Second Generation breeding
unless you are completely fine with other users adopting the unclaimed offspring.
- You must have an updated co-op archive post containing the corresponding Candy being
used, or the Credit equivalent. However, the currency being offered will not be charged
until the litter is finished and submitted for adoption.

A place for unwanted, confiscated, or donated adoptables to be rehomed.
Adoptables from litters that have not been claimed after a week may be
placed here so as to more quickly post the code drop.

Guidelines:
- More often than not, the Pound operates on a first come, first serve basis
- In the case of multiple pets in the Pound, it is only one per person
- This works just like the standard adoption process with a form and code word
- The form must be filled out in its entirety to be accepted

Once each day at CS rollover, one user may claim a Grab Bag containing a random assortment of items. The contents rotate twice a week, and each bag may contain between one and five prizes within it. Be the first to post the form to claim the bag. Any forms posted after the bag is claimed will be invalid.
