What was the incident that caused this hounds scars? Did they learn/gain anything from it?: They got into a fight while trying to protect something they loved. They are only really attached to a small object that belonged to her old owners, before she died and Pebble was sold. She fought and learned you can only keep what is yours if you are willing to fight for it, otherwise it's not worth keeping.

What was the incident that caused this hounds scars? Did they learn/gain anything from it?:
Before Tibetan came into my care, she was used as bait for fighting dogs. Her past owners owned a ring for dog fighting. They picked Tibetan off the streets when she was 6 years old, using her as bait for their fighting dogs who needed the practice.

Tibe learned that not all humans are nice and want the best for you. Some of them are terribly sick animals.
But out of this deadly experience, she gained a new home. A home that will love her and not make her do things that put her in danger.

What was the incident that caused this hounds scars? Did they learn/gain anything from it?:

"Oak, weave!"

The dog tilted his head mid run. What was weave? He'd heard it before, but he still wasn't sure what it meant. He vaguely recalled the sticks that his trainer had directed him to move between. He pinned his ears back in a mix of frustration and confusion.

"Oak, weave!"

There was urgency in the command now. He uneasily continued to chase after the poacher. He noticed a little too late that the human had turned around, gun in hand. Weave, weave, weave.. what did it mean?

The sound of a gunshot (one? multiple? it sounded like lightning, crackling in anger) caught his ears, and he heard the command again:

"WEAVE, OAK!"

Ah, it meant to-! He moved to the side, only to yelp in pain as something grazed his side. He tumbled to the ground, grazed by the bullets fired in his direction. The poacher retreated into the bush, and it wasn't long before his trainer caught up to him.

Oklahoma never forgot what weave meant ever again.

Dakota walked along the rough path in the woods, glancing around. She had been hearing the sound of paw steps behind her, but every time she looked, there was nothing. Dakota growled a bit, getting frustrated. Out of nowhere, a flash of tan fur hurled itself at her, leaving a gash in her shoulder. Dakota figured out what was following her. It was a mountain lion! She dodged and nipped it, getting a few more scratches before barking erupted from down the path. Her friend, Cal, was speeding towards them, spooking the mountain lion. They both nipped it a few times before it finally gave up and ran away. "You okay?" Cal asked, a worried expression on his face. "Yeah, I'll be fine, let's go back home..." Dakota mumbled, the pair walking down the path towards the farm.

What was the incident that caused this hounds scars? Did they learn/gain anything from it?:

I stood tense, ready to fight. It was my final trial before I would be of age. If I succeeded, the other dogs would train me to herd the zebra. If I failed, then...

I glared at my opponent, oblivious to the whispers coming behind me. The other dogs in my pack were watching. They'd all been through this, too.

"Are you sure he's ready?" I hear one of my packmates whisper. He doesn't mean ill. It's just that my opponent is stronger than usual.

The dog I was challenging was an older, stronger male. He growled in warning. "You can give up," he warned me mockingly. "If you're too scared or such."

I growled back. "Never. I've earned my rightful place in this pack and a kennel-dog isn't going to defeat me now."

My opponent nodded, a malicious glint in his eye, then charged towards me, grabbing me in a bite. My eyes widen in surprise. Biting harshly was against the rules. I called him a kennel-dog, but only because he wasn't a herding dog like the others in my pack.

The other dogs behind me realized that something was up and started barking wildly. "Yield, Mordred!" I hear my alpha yell. Yield. Stop.

"Never!" I cry, even though my opponent is overpowering me. I said I wouldn't be beaten and I meant it, but my opponent lunged, his claws scraping against my flank.

"Mordred!" my alpha cried once more in warning. It was chaos now. I didn't know what to do anymore; my opponent wasn't going to stand down, despite him obviously hurting me. The next seconds happened in a blur, and I can't remember any of it except for the pain. I learned something that day: that I can't win every battle, even if I try, and there's no dishonor of standing down. Because when I asked my alpha if I would be exiled for losing the fight, he said no, because my opponent cheated and my potential was high.
