Show Name: DSR Blind Faith
Barn Name: Hawk
Halter: a grayish purple color
Prompt:

Hawk was born with his blindness. He never had the chance to see the world and how beautiful it truly can be. All he can do is imagine. As a foal, he would use his other senses to find his way around, every now and then needing assistance, which he hated. He had such amazing drive and would try and try again, and if he was really determined to do it by himself, he would refuse help. Which also depended on the situation. He can sense stuff around him, and can imagine what the object looks like. Even being blind, he seems to know what it is that is around him. He knows his limits and doesn't push them too much.

One of his most favorite things to do is jump and go on trail rides. When ridden, his rider will give him cues with their leg, or with voice cues. It works really well, and they are an amazing team together. For being blind, he is one of the calmest, bravest and most determined horses on the island.

    Show Name: Gentle Diligence
    Barn Name: Gidan
    Halter: Navy Blue
    Prompt:
Gidan's blindness was, at first, something that wasn't thought much of. It would come and go, a flare-up of sorts one could say. But it rarely lasted long enough to be a bother to him. A startle here or there, tripping over a root that wasn't thought to have been in his path... But, eventually, his vision didn't return as quickly. It spiraled downwards from there, but the natives who cared for him didn't know how or why he suddenly wasn't able to see. They cared for him as best they could regardless, as he was usually a very patient and kind horse. When he grew scared, he would be comforted like he was the village's child, when he needed some space he was given the freedom albeit mostly with an elder who simply enjoyed quiet walks around the village. When he needed guidance to the nearby river he would have a hand and a voice to tell him when to step and be careful, a brave one would brave a storm to lead him to cover when rain threatened to flood their homes...

He was a well loved and cared for stallion.

The strangers came soon after, and while the village he lived in was wary of them, when one skilled in the medicines of horses saw his struggles they asked after him. No explanations were given, no requests to get closer to the reverent stallion, but the stranger stayed in the village. He helped with other animals, learned their customs and shared stories with them for a long while. And when Gidan approached the man, he was patient as he spoke with the horse, older and less spry. The man clearly knew what was ailing the stallion, and when one of the elders asked if anything could be done to help the poor fellow, his response was a simple no. When asked why, the man was kind in his explanation; Gidan suffered from Moon Blindness, which starts with an inflammation in the eye, usually sudden. They spoke for a while with Gidan dozing under the mans gentle hands. He told the elder the village did all they needed to for him, and he was in good hands. He didn't seem to be in much pain, even if he did have some bad days since his arrival, and surmised that Gidan was as happy as he could be. The elder was glad to hear such, and even went as far as asking the man to stay if only to help care for their aging friend; Gidan certainly didn't mind the extra company and friendly guide.
