Kes is a very old mare, and she has an eye for items!
After wandering the island for some time, she's decided to stick around the largest outpost and set up shop.
This is where she will trade wares, redeem lost items, and sell some trinkets she has lying around..
But careful, if you choose to haggle with her things may not turn in your favor!

All available items will be listed below.
You may haggle with her if you have Zeeri, which can now be found while exploring the island.

You must purchase items directly on this page below!
Messages with purchases will be ignored.
I will not be maintaining an active log of items elsewhere.

You may haggle for nearly all purchases made through Kes' shop.
You must follow the guidelines below, and may attach the haggling form below your purchase form.

• If haggling with Kes, you have a 50/50 chance of having her agree with your offer, or upsetting her.
• Upsetting Kes leaves you empty handed, and you must wait two days to approach her again.
• Kes will not haggle for items less than 5 River Zeeri.
• Kes will not accept an offer if it is less than 1/3 of its orignal worth. (ie. 2 Zeeri for a Basket of Herbs is not accepted.)

If you have any items to redeem, Kes is the one to give them to.
She'll compensate you for your find, and return the lost items to their owners magically.
Sometimes, these owners are so happy they may even offer a small reward, too!
You have a small chance to roll for an extra one or two River Zeeri each returned item.

Kes is always on the lookout for discarded items when she wanders about.
She may return with more stock, or even new items!

Q: How do Locks of Mane Work?
A: These items can only be used if one of the parents carries the requested gene.
It will automatically grant the passing of the gene being requested to pass, no roll is needed.
You cannot use this for a gene that is not present in either parent.
You can use this item to fully apply a recessive gene, such as Pearl, to offspring.
This item cannot make genes that are not seen in certain breeds appear!
Sabino will never appear on an Aquell Warmblood, regardless of item usage.

This item can be used in conjunction with a mixed breeding, but it will apply to the lesser rarity of the two.
If a Dull Lock is used between a Dyesdale and Aquell, Leopard Appaloosa cannot be requested if the offspring is an Aquell.

Q: Are there some items that will always be available?
A: Yes! Kes will always have Bridles available for sale. She may add more in the future.

Q: Why can Magic Paint and Fireflies only be applied for wild captures?
A: Because the Vun-Toj who choose to return with you have bonded with a person, they lose just a bit of their magic due to the lack of magic found in humans. Whether they had Magic Paint, or communed with the Fireflies previously, they revert to their life when born when they bond with you. It's not a bad thing, in fact it's considered a great honor among the island natives! This gives both the horse and human a chance to forge a deep, lasting bond and then mark the Vun-Toj with this feeling. The paints' magic is imbued with the feelings of such a bond, and furthers it immensely.

Q: Is Kes always open?
A: No, she is not. She comes and goes as she pleases, usually three to four days, but always returns with items to sell. Just because she's closed one day doesn't mean she won't suddenly return the next, either! Sometimes she's so excited about a find that she is quick to return and let others partake in it.

Kes snorts as she looks over your find.
“Ah, I know who would be missing this. I’ll return it once clean.
Thank you, newcomer. May the island watch your travels.”
She takes the necklace from you, placing 5 River Zeeri in your hands in exchange.

Kes looks at the doll for quite a few moments before her eyes soften and she seems to smile at the tattered and dirtied thing.
"I remember this, and the girl who lost it would certainly appreciate it again. Thank you, stranger."
She takes the doll and replaces it with 3 River Zeeri, disappearing into her shop without a farewell.

Kes' gaze softens as she looks over the old shield you bring to her. It's quite some time before she smiles and looks back to you, eyes as sharp as ever when you meet her gaze. "I remember the owner of this well, they'll be happy to see it's been found. Thank you, stranger."
She takes the shield and leaves 9 River Zeeri in exchange for you.
