What does this hound wish to change or improve on in the new year? Why?: One thing Remix wishes to improve on this year is his attention span; now, that might seem a little bit silly, like it's some kind of joke, but it really isn't. Remix suffers from an extreme case of ADHD, and while he is extremely talented, intelligent, and driven, his attention rarely stays focused on one thing for longer than a minute or two, sometimes far less. It makes training extremely difficult, though when he is able to focus, he's a dream to work with; but he doesn't do it on purpose, and he gets extremely upset and depressed when he can't force himself to stay attentive and then his owner gets angry and frustrated themselves. This is the main reason why he's bounced around from kennel to kennel for the past year: He'd get somewhere new, be happy and eager to meet everyone and work with his new handler, then his ADHD would start making itself apparent, the handler would get so frustrated that they would eventually give up and sell him again. Rinse and repeat; well, until he came to Amethyst Ridge. The ranch owner Amethyst has a lot of experience with difficult dogs, whether it's intentional or not, and has not given up on one yet. Between her and her on-site behaviorists, they'll find something to help him succeed. Because that's all he really wants is to stay in a stable home, do something he truly loves, and not be yelled at for something he can't really help.
