Celeste was born into the show business and was raised to do many stunts and tricks. Since she was a pup, she knew how to twirl in circles til she got dizzy, to sit and stay, but she knew that her life wasn’t the best. When her practice shows had ended, she was left outside on a too-short chain. In sun, snow and rain, she would be left outside until the next show. She dreamed of running towards the sun, feeling the wind in her fur and more. She wanted, needed so much more than what she was being given. One day, her chain got tangled in a rusty nail. She pulled, but her neck cried out in pain. Her paws slipped up and Celeste suddenly went from pulling with all her might to falling straight onto her back. She whined in pain, but the hurt couldn’t compare to the relief that filled her. Her neck was free from that cursed chain. She was free – and without looking back, she stumbled into the lining of the woods. Celeste ran - the trees grew thicker, the day sky swam with darkness and she had never felt happiness like this until now.

So it can only be right that I am the lead." The dog sits up as his therapist jots something down with his strange human objects. "I mean it's a big job for just one person, being the lead, taking care of the damsels in distress, making certain to take down the villains-" The actor stops a moment and tilts his head. "Oh wait...you mean shows? Like dog shows? Not tv shows?" The Senegal sighs and shakes his head, muttering under his breath. "Humans..."

"..Eck, shows?" Sekhmet turned her gaze to the side, ears flicking backward for a brief moment. Throughout her pup years, she had been excessively pampered, spoiled, and groomed from the moment she knew how to properly balance her weight on shaky legs. Despite constant pleas to let her join the others as they bounded about, her mother was adamant about training her only daughter... her only heir... in the art of shows. She just wanted to be out in the fields, rolling about happily under the summer sun. Sekhmet was less than interested, yet she satisfied her mother's dreams for her, entering in shows. She spent night and day practicing her routines. Her mother would make sure Sekhmet's fur was groomed as soft as it could be. She was using her own personal dreams, pushing them onto Sekhmet for her own selfish gain and pleasure. Eventually, Sekhmet would snap, pulling from the shows and shoving her mother away. Shows are a bitter subject for the young female, who refuses to step paw near one. Yet, while the memories are bittersweet, Sekhmet will occasionally look back upon them to remember the times when she and her mother were close.

Oh, Naveen would love shows, if he could sit still long enough to take them in. Just the sheer sights, smells, the amount of other dogs, big and small, like the humans leashed to them, and the grass and the slick wood floors, and did he mention the smells? The smells are amazing.

He lasted all of one show (only mediated by the practically-a-run walk he took before he was sent to gait and stack, but he was still chomping at the bit even afterwards) before his kennel pulled him from show altogether. Perfect temperament and attitude for high-stress guarding for the zebras, but beyond his looks? Terrible for international show. But who could blame him?

He likes dogs shows well enough, but he adores his home. The freedom to run and look and taste and touch and hear and smell... Much better than a show. Even if it means being rolled by Gaia and showing his belly when he does something stupid, or playfighting with Issy and losing, he wouldn’t trade it for the world. He’d definitely miss their comforting scents as well.

Dog shows are fine... and boring. Home is definitely more his speed.

Raised for the sole purpose of being a show dog, training was all Sage knew for a good while. The first few months were spent at home, with her mother and sisters, being taught simple commands until she was six months. Around then, she was put into vigorous training. She became an official show dog at roughly a year. After her third showing, it became apparent that showing wasn't for her. Sage has a temper, and having humans and dogs alike interact with her was wearing her thin. She has too little patience, and too much of a competitive (and hostile) spirit within her.

Thus, her family turned her over to become a guard dog. While training was a stink, Sage found herself starting to enjoy her new job. While on-duty, few bothered her. She was away from the overwhelming sights, smells and sounds, now under the open sky with only the sounds of nature around her. Not to mention, her temper paid off when fending off poachers and protecting the herd. Her hostility towards people and others melted away. She was finally in a place she could call home.

Before coming to Aurora Borealis, Kabili was a show dog but didn't do the best sometimes. He just didn't seem to have the right attitude for being a show dog. Being quite high energy and never really being able to hold still. So he was given to the center in which he now lives as a service dog; but not as a normal service dog. He now is up for people to come and play with him. Plus they can take him on walks if they are looking to give themselves exercise. For him, he doesn't personally like to be used as a show dog. Though being able to always be up and having fun is his kind of style. Though after coming to Aurora they introduced him to agility shows which he never knew was a thing. During these shows, he gets to be himself unlike the traditional shows that he use to be used for. (157/200 wc)
