A soft breeze billowed through the field, gently swaying the aging grass as it blew through. In the left-hand outskirts of the field, a single little pinkish-hued nose poked up to sniff the air, trying to catch a scent for something. The cold was growing stronger, and with the fall season going through its last weeks, Winter would be quickly approaching and making its large debut on the scene of nature and within many Chyro's lives that lived in the great wilderness with their packs.
Duke put his nose to the ground, sniffing at the dirt and scratching at the cool ground before looking about for anything of proper interest within the area. Nothing caught his eyes though, which was quite the shame seeing as how he'd been looking forward to finding something to perhaps impress his pack with. The concept of being unable to bring anything back though made his heart swell with the feeling of being inadequate, and the sense of not being a proper contributor to his fellow pack-members. Deciding to give one more go for finding something, the large creature bounded through the tall grass keeping an eye out for something neat to perhaps bring home.
Now, the arctic-colored boy was not exactly the most graceful, and he didn't even notice the large rock that had been sticking out a little, tripping and going flying through the air- With a quick yelp, he had landed on his back, thankfully not being hurt and merely scuffled up from the hard landing. Laying on his side and sniffing at himself before giving his paws a quick lick to keep clean, he decided that perhaps instead of going out on his own to complete patrolling for things, he should leave those with more experience to do so. The thought of his pack though brought him back to the idea of having not found anything yet, and Duke promptly layed back down on his side in a lazy manner to think of other things. From the neat bugs he'd seen another Chyro find by turning over rocks, all the way to the Chryosocyon that he'd found a day or so prior by going out exploring...
Closing his eyes and drifting off for a brief moment, his lazy nature was beginning to get to him as usual, preventing him from getting things done even with the cold and the fact that winter was rather soon. It was almost as though nothing would ever get him to properly move or do anything of the sort that would make him considered even vaguely useful to the rest of his pack. He could feel the sweet feeling of sleep pulling at his brain, and that was enough to being lulling him off into a world of dreams. A world in which he most definitely wouldn't have any responsibilities to take care of, a world in which he could stay simply lazy and be taken care of rather than being relied on for anything at all. Duke's dream life could most certainly be interpreted as just continuously dreaming and sleeping away in a comfy spot. For now though, a spot in the golden-colored grass would be what he'd settle for during these cold Autumn days.
