This is the tale of a young warrior.
You may have heard of her, but that's unlikely.
She started in her bright years, only 12 when we begin.

...

"Hey Mali-Mack! How's Triste?"
"Good, haven't worked the legs yet but they seem
to respond to movement!"
A day like no other, the two young Kals met up to hang out. It was
great when they hung out, for Eldeguard had been taking her time
training for the guard, which recruited young since there was
always crime to vanquish. And since Mali had been devoting time
to her latest projects, a secret one to soon be revealed, and then
making her mechanical dragon, Triste, work, they didn't find many
hours together as much anymore.
Today, though, they got right to it. After some coaxing from her
best friend, Mali left with a very enthusiastic Eldeguard by her side.
"So, should we start with the usual? Blueberries and
bird-feeding?"
"Yes, but I wanna take a woods walk instead, I'm
exhausted from being cooped up."
And they went, they said hi to the baker and hi to the guard
at the edge of the gate, and were off into the forest.

...

"So what's the real reason why you wanted
a walk?" Eldeguard said with a sly smile.
She knew her friend would only want to really leave for something
important, and this had to be something really important.
"Wha- no! Totally not! Totally not trying to lead
you to a totally new thing I whipped up for you!" she said
in an exaggerated matter.
This only got Eldeguard more excited, and she started guessing the
world out of what it was. When they arrived at the training dummy,
though, she was speechless.
"Oh, my goodness, is that- really for me?"
"Well I didn't spend all my time just on Triste now.
Now go put it on, I wanna see you in uniform!"

And she did, and she wore her new armor all the way home.
