Intake Report: Eye Scarring On Both Eyes | Broken/Cracked Top Tail Spike
"This Skepluvi has been fascinating to work with, not only due to their beauty but equally to their odd lack of social skills. Skepluvias are, by nature, very kind-hearted creatures with an adamant disdain for violence - which means pit-fighting is highly uncommon, even in horrible rescue cases such as the one this Skepluvi was pulled from. But, sadly, they appear to have many of the common battle scars from being forced to fight at the hands of man; most obvious being their cracked tail spike, which are generally only ever seen with such severe damage when they've been crushed against another Skepluvi's tail. Their eyes also sport some bad scarring, presumably a trick to spark up fear so that they could be terrorized by humans to start the fights. Thankfully since Skepluvi are already mostly blind by nature, this queen's lack of eyesight doesn't seem to bother them any. But they will definitely need some help re-learning how to interact with others, and their eyes will need to be kept clean to ensure the lack of eyelid mobility doesn't cause any infections. They are horribly head shy and easily startled, so figuring out how to take care of them properly will be a struggle for their new caretaker until some trust is established. It's up to you now!"

Taming prompt: The second she arrived she got the nickname Bright because she needed a name that felt like it was her. At first she was weary and kept her distance, this farm was only home to one other skepluvia, and the farm cat Toby. So there was plenty of space to have separate pens for her and Ash. Armed with a bag of nuts and berries she was lured closer and soon enough she trusted enough for her eyes to be tended to daily and a non toxic resin coating was put on her cracked tail spike to prevent further cracking or damage. After her physical wounds were under control, psychological wounds needed attention as well. We started introducing her to the other farms animals in the same way you would introduce cats, very slowly, there was no way to know how she would react with another skepluvia. Then it took an unexpected turn, Toby and Bright became best buddies in a way it was like Toby understood her. She had seemingly never met a cat before so she didn't have any reason to fear him and his presence would always calm her. Eventually it was decided that her nickname suited her personality as well but it was shortened to Bri (pronounced to rhyme with rye) we knew she was head shy but it seemed to mostly be with tack. We started some desensitisation training by playing with an untelated cloth near her h ewad, then on her head etc. She still had a while to go on her journey to total normality but she had a good foundation and with time we knew it would all work itself out.
