Euphorian Thoroughbred #E019

Postby gr3ystones » Mon Aug 26, 2019 2:43 am

Welcome to the Fallen Oaks Farm event!
It is here that an illegal Euphorian Thoroughbred breeding operation was shut down by local authorities. All of the mares, stallions, and of age foals are in need of homes. There will also be some mares that still have their foals that need to be taken care of. Euphorian lovers from all over have come together to get homes for all of the animals. They've brought giant trailers and are ready and waiting to bring home a bunch of new faces. But before adopting, they must visit the trailer parking site.

Show Name: GOS Red Mustang GT
Barn Name: Mustang
Age: 5 (when fully grown)
Discipline: Show Jumping
Halter: Something like this!
Competition:
Jack watched the filly buck around, and giving the staff a hard time in the foal pin. He walked over and leaned on the fence of the pin. Watching the filly act like a wild mustang when a staff member became to close. Soon, the staff just left, hoping she will calm down. After a few minutes of watching the foal, Jack climbed into the fence and sat on it. Soon the filly was staring at him, she then snorted and trotting around with her head high, as well as her tail. Jack watched the young foal, acting like a young stallion in the wild. He chuckled as she started to walk towards him, then bolted away, kicking up dirt. "Playful, little thing, aren't ya?" He spoke as he dropped down into the pin.

He'd then sit in the mud. He didn't mind getting dirty. He'd watch the foal more. She'd perk up her ears, watching the tall young man sit down. She'd snort and toss her head. Walking around him slowly, she was watching him how a wolf would to a elk. 30 minutes would pass of just watching each other. Jack put out his hand, seeing the filly has calmed down some. The young filly perked up her ears at his movement, thinking he had fallen asleep. The filly slowly walked to his hand, and sniffed it. Soon doing a bolt-dash, how she did before. Jack chuckled at her. He'd talk sweet things to her, soon standing up and putting his hand out every time she walked forward. Soon, the foal was standing still, letting the tall man pet her neck. He'd soon put the halter and hooked the lead rope onto her. They'd slowly walk around in the pin before walking out of the pin to the clean up station.

He'd tie her up to the fence. He'd get a pale of clean water with soap, and a sponge. He'd go to work on cleaning the filly, then getting a cute yellow, foal blanket on her. He'd then lead her to where the foals were being checked out. He'd stay there in till the foal was taken away from the station. Jack sighed, he'd miss that foal, had good legs for jumping as well as a pretty coloring.
He'd walk away to join his girlfriend, Allie, to the mare pin.

Barn Name: Chevelle (elle for short)
Age: (when fully grown) 6 yo
    Discipline: Hunter Jumper
Halter: Honey Yellow with silver buckles
Competition: I walked around the pens, eyeing different babies, mare, stallions, wondering who I would like to bring home with me. I heard a commotion in a side pen holding some of the foals, possibly the more rowdy ones. Peeking around the crowd I noticed a leggy filly thrashing around, letting out loud cries as her friend was whisked away out of the pen. My insticts kicked in and rushed around to the foal being brought of the pen, flagging down a helper. "Excuse me! Would you mind if I borrowed that halter off that foal?" The helper gave me a strange look, almost like I was crazy. "Please its important." Shrugging their shoulders the halter from the weak foal and passed it over to me. I gave them a nod and went back to the filly who was still letting out shrill cries to her friend. I eased my way into the pen and stood close to the filly, I could see the pain in her bright eyes, her only friend was taken away and she didn't know how to cope. I've been in that situation before and knew how to help.
"Its okay girly, you're okay." I whispered as I edged closer. She stopped for a second and sniffed the air. I held out the muddy halter and let her inch closer to me, continuing to sniff the air around me. She slowly started to walk closer, the helpers moving away as they noticed she was calming down.
"Here, I think you know whos this is." I said as I was roughly 2 feet in front of the filly. Her demeanor shifted. The once tense, frightened filly was now relaxed as she began to nudge the halter, letting out small knickers as she remembered her friends scent.
"I'll take this girl off your hands." I said looking at the staff, "Are you sure? She is quiet a handful..." I chuckled, nodding in assurance. " Yeah I can be too so I think we will get along swell."

I haltered the filly with her friends halter, noticing that when it was close by she was much more willing and relaxed. I loaded her back into the trailer and made my way back to Atlantic Thoroughbreds. The entire was back the young filly slept peacefully, snuggling up next to the halter, every once in a while letting out a sad whinny, knowing she probably would never see her friend again.

Its been a few weeks since Chevelle made her home at ATB, she was definitely upset for the first few weeks here, she'd wake up every morning, pacing around the stall looking for her friend. She sadly had begun to out grow her friends halter so instead of taking it away from her, I made a hanger on the lower half of the stall where the halter stayed so when she felt lonely or was missing her friend, Chevelle could lay near it and feel safe.

Show Name: Bucking Beauty
Barn Name: Serenity
Age: (when fully grown) 3 years
Discipline: Equestrian Vaulting
Halter: Turquoise
Competition: As soon as I step out of my truck after arriving at Fallen Oaks Farms, my attention is almost immediately drawn to one filly in particular. This filly is screaming at the top of her lungs. The other horses around her look at her in confusion and worry. The filly ignores theses glances and continues whinnying and crying. She keeps looking back at another young foal, who was in horrible condition. This foal was being taken to a medical tent nearby, where it would be tended to. I then realized the young filly had a friendship with this foal. I hurry over to the distressed filly and try to calm her down. I tried everything from stroking her and talking softly to her to giving her sugar cubes. She kept refusing my comfort. She was fixed on the ill foal. I eventually decided to take her over to the medical tent, to see her friend. The filly willingly followed me to the locations of her friend. The filly saw just how bad the condition her the other foal was. This saddened the filly. But she also saw how well she was being taken care of now. Her wounds were being tended to, she was receiving plenty to eat along with warm blankets. The filly cuddled with her friend for a few moments, before she decided it was time to part ways, for her best interest. The filly softly nickered and nudged her friend goodbye. It was then that the young foal allowed me to load her up in the horse trailer and take her home. She was still very saddened by the separation. I knew she would move past it though. There were a few other horses at the equestrian center she could play with to keep her mind off of parting ways with the foal. She would be taken care of very well and reach her full potential, that she, or her friend never would have reached staying at Fallen Oak Farms. She knew in her heart that the other foal would live a long happy life after being rescued, and that's all she wants.

    Competition:

A loneliness, deep and piercing, echoing outward into the chaos through shrill shrieks. The dirt-entrenched filly cried out in sorrow, thrashing violently at any attempts to console her shattered spirit. Her eyes followed a thin foal, who was being led—almost carried along, with the condition it was in—away from her enclosure. Her eyes, and her cries, grew more desperate as the foal rounded the corner. When he was gone, the air grew somber with the distressed calls of hers.

I quickly shuffled to the nearest event organizer, grasping an adoption form in my hands. “Sir,” I begged, “Please, can I take that filly? She looks so desperate that I’m worried she’ll injure herself.”

He shot a cursory nod my way and then entered the tumultuous enclosure. The man made quick work of capturing the distressed filly and pulling her out of the enclosure. Beneath her own anguish, her feisty spirit was almost tangible. She twisted and turned as she was dragged along, crying out all the while. All along the way to the trailer, she fought with all her will. Even within, she clawed at the floor, howling at the world for taking away her only solace in her solemn situation. I decided then to just take this despondent filly back to the stable, to recoup and to recover. It seemed in that moment that none at the farm had suffered nearly as much as this foal who’d just learned the meaning of loneliness.

The drive back to Sullen Stream was no less tense than the loading up of the trailer had been. The filly crashed and clattered against the metal walls, and up until the second she was let out, she fought tooth and nail to escape. Finally, the door erupted open. She was unleashed into the quarantine pasture, and before her eyes, a colt from the very same Fallen Oaks Farm that she had been freed from.

Rory, the colt who’d arrived at the stables only a few days prior, had adjusted well to his new situation. In the few days I’d known him, I’d just begun to learn of his nature—he was a special one, with a unique grasp of the emotions of others around him. As the filly crashed into the pasture, looking around desperately for her only friend, my heart wrenched with the hope that he’d be able to do something for her. And that he did. With gentle eyes and a soft face, he trotted up to the filthy filly and touched her nose in greeting—a gesture for which he nearly lost a chunk of his nose. Nevertheless, he persisted. Rory backed up, then tried again. And again. With patience and caution, he worked his best to make friends with the filly, and more importantly, make her feel at home. To make her feel that she hadn’t lost all that day; that instead, she’d gained something. As daylight bled out, the filly and the colt were beside each other, heads resting on each other’s withers. Though her stance remained sunken, her feisty aura was replaced with something different. At last, the filly seemed at peace.
