Euphorian Thoroughbred #019

Postby gr3ystones » Thu Aug 15, 2019 10:56 am

Welcome to the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project
Euphorian Thoroughbreds are a rare string of the Thoroughbred breed. They come from a single farm simply called “Euphoria” that has horses with mutated genes. These allow them to be able to possess any realistic coat or markings. Everything else about the sub-type is the same. Long, strong legs, a powerful hind, and great speed. Their eyes are soft and the breed is incredibly smart, if not a bit goofy. They love kids and have the rare ability to excel in any discipline. They can grow from 15hh-18hh, though usually somewhere in the middle.
The horses readopted through the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project are looking for a new loving home and a new job. They’ve tried racing and have either retired or decided the sport wasn’t for them. Either way, they are ready for the next chapter in their life. Some of these horses will come with a little training already, and will have their new discipline already determined. Although others you’ll get to pick how they move forwards!

Show Name: The Greatest Showman
Barn Name: Barnum
Age: 5 years
Discipline: Equine Vaulting
Halter: Turquoise
Backstory: Before his birth, Barnum's mother was sent to a slaughter factory because of her bitter demeanor. No one knew she was pregnant at the time, until she collapsed in line. She was allowed to lay there to have her foal, but as soon as the birth was done, she was forced to the front of the line, to face her cruel fate. Although Barnum only knew his mother for the first few minutes of his life, he loved her dearly. Barnum was taken home by one of the poor factory workers. He was then sold to another poor family. who needed a horse to pull their wagon. As Barnum grew, the family came to realize he had some serious potential in him. They entered him in a few competitions. He did exceptionally well when working with children, who came to trust him. He specialized in acrobatic equine vaulting. He became famous world wide for his clear talent.

Show Name: BA Midnight Appeal
Barn Name: Nyte
Age: 9 years, 1 month
Discipline: Dressage, Cross country
Halter: A deep purple with little white dots (like stars) if possible! If not, no worries
Backstory: Nyte, of course, being a stallion, was too much to handle for his last owners. They did little with him and eventually moved on, leaving him there. Nyte was on the verge of death when Animal Control was called. He still had so fight left in him, so they had to tranquilize him to get him into a trailer brought especially for him. He was then adopted by a family with a young child, hoping for a good child horse. They were quite wrong. It's not that he was malicious or spiteful, he was just a young, hot-headed, ungelded male who saw mares as a time to show-off and gallop their way. Needless to say, he was sold once more, being sent to auction. This is where we found him. He was terrified and was galloping around the auction pen. The men who worked there didn't help either, chasing him with flags. Anyways, of course we had to win this handsome guy's auction! People were put off the fact he was so.... Well, energetic. We won and brought him home.

At first, he wouldn't settle, nickering and having lots of energy spurts. He's now settled amazingly, he has no issues, well, except he likes to throw his head! He's excelling at shows and is as happy as can be.

Show Name: BBR Honey Badger
Barn Name: Badger
Age: 4 years old
Discipline: hunter/jumper
Halter: light blue
Backstory: This stallion has indeed earned his name. Like a badger, he is extremely aggressive. Even as a foal, he would strike out at the other horses, kick at them, or bite, even when unprovoked. Sometimes he would even charge at the humans as they would go to fetch him from the field. The humans tried to limit the interactions he had with other horses because of his aggressive and dominant nature. It was clear Badger would not be successful as a racehorse since that would require him to be in close proximity to other horses. He was re-homed to be re-trained as a hunter/jumper horse, since only one horse can be in the ring at a time during jumping rounds. Everyone is sure to keep him in a field by himself, and they even try to limit contact with other horses over the fence line due to his aggression.

(Akanskdndkdn im literally screaming bc it’s a badger pony for a badger buddy hehe)

Show Name: Anything but Average
Barn Name: Mouse
Age: 5
Discipline: Jumping
Halter: Pale pink
Backstory: This boy lives up to both his barn name and show name.

His story wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows.
Like they say, you can’t have a rainbow without both sunshine and rain. This boys story started out as a thunderstorm.

When he was born, his mother rejected him. He was soon diagnosed with Neonatal Encephalopathy. There were many days and nights that he could’ve passed, but he didn’t. This tiny little guy wanted to survive.
That’s exactly what he did. He survived. He was bottle fed and when he was ready to go into the pasture and be a normal colt he was paired with a mare that had lost her foal. They became everything that each other needed.

Mouse grew up to be a playful and happy colt. Always smiling and always running around in the pasture chasing butterflies and honey bees. Other colts would pick on him and call him a girl, but he didn't care.
He was always caught hanging out the mares and putting flowers in his mane and tail. He would make flower crowns for his adoptive mother all the time until she passed peacefully one night.

When he was old enough to start training he was determined to be the best jumper, like he had always told his adoptive mother. His original handlers couldn’t take care of any of the horses so they were auctioned off. Mouse was auctioned off to a young handler, no older than 23. She saw the potential in Mouse’s eyes.
His name was ‘Quinton’ until his new owner changed it after finding out that Mouse is exactly like a mouse. He likes to ‘squeak’ when he’s happy. He got his show name after his new handler figured out what he had gone through.

Mouse became an amazing jumper, and he knows that somewhere, his adoptive mother is watching him. Being proud of him for living up to his promise. Along with not letting anything stand in his way.

    Username: LivingLethal
    Show Name: Winged Victory
    Barn Name: Badger
    Age: 8
    Discipline: Cross country
    Halter: A dark leather brown.
    Backstory:

It was within an inconspicuous, run-down barn in the most impoverished part of town that Badger came to be. The little foal was the opposite of his birthplace; whereas it was dark and dreary there, he was a colt with a quick wit who was always bursting with energy. His existence meant little more than profit to his original owners, but for him, that was alright—they treated him just fine, after all. As soon as he was old enough to be weaned, Badger was sold. This moment, when he was loaded up on a truck from the poorest part of town to the richest, is when his potential was unlocked.

There was a spark within the little colt’s eyes and spunk in his step. Though he was a cheap buy, he had the composition of a winner. That’s why one of the most affluent Thoroughbred trainers took a chance on Badger. It’s also why he was given the name Winged Victory—because that’s what they saw within him. As he grew from colt to yearling, and yearling to young adult, Badger proved his worth. Off the track, he was playful and mischievous, but on the track? His focus was like lightning, and nothing could stop him from achieving his goal. His training went impeccably. Badger soared as he began entering amateur races.

Soon enough, Badger—or Winged Victory, as he began to be known professionally—started to win race after race within higher-level competitions. He raced. Even more so, he conquered. Nonetheless, every great racer must meet their end. Luckily, it was retirement that took Badger out of the ring, but he soon found that retirement was not all that it was cracked up to be.

If there was any reason why Badger was picked out of his humble roots and placed into the world of the wild, it’s because he had energy—he had a soul, one he desperately wanted to share with everyone. As he became a stud horse in his retirement, Badger fell ill with boredom and sorrow for the loss of his passion. He needed to work; it was his lifeblood, truly. His under-performance as a stud horse led to him being sold—and that’s just about where his backstory ends.
