Ikran Name: 'Ìp (Na'vi; "disappear, vanish, recede from view")
Gender: Female
Age: Teen/young adult
Story: Known among the mountain tribes for her stunning deep blue and rare painted pattern, 'Ìp was named for her ability to escape any trap set for her, and outsmart even the best trackers among multiple Na'vi tribes. While many would see her and have the chance to admire her beauty, she was known to be shy and fearful of anything that came near to her, including other Ikran. As soon as someone - or something - crossed that invisible line, she was gone without a trace. Few lucky hunters have gotten to chase her, but her speed mixed with her intensive knowledge of the Hallelujah Mountains always gave her the edge, and she would disappear until the hunting party gave up. This continued for years, until one day 'Ìp didn't appear in any of her normal spots; a week passed, and she still hadn't been spotted, and some of the Na'vi that followed her closely began to worry. It was only when a band of new Na'vi coming to tame their first Ikran came into the mountains was she found. A young Na'vi huntress named Kameya went off on her own to seek out more dangerous Ikran when she stumbled upon the hidden den where 'Ìp was hiding. Her wing had been dislocated, and the terrified Ikran couldn't fly to get away.

Abandoning her Rite, Kameya stopped to help the timid beast, and slowly began to gain her trust. She sat there through the night, singing and talking to the Ikran until she relaxed, and was able to scoot closer. As 'Ìp slipped into an exhausted slumber, Kameya opened her wing and in one swift motion popped it back into place, and the Ikran screamed in pain. Suddenly Kameya found herself trying to block her from flying out of the den opening; with her injury, 'Ìp would do nothing but plummet to the ground below. Kameya wouldn't be able to live with that guilt. Though she'd hoped to find a large , fierce male Ikran, something befitting a warrior rather than a scout, duty to this poor female overtook her personal desire, and she struggled against the Ikran to create that bond. Thankfully she succeeded, and she felt the Ikran shudder with fear and anxiety. A shiver traced Kameya's spine as the two minds became one, and she quickly moved to comfort and calm 'Ìp. Kameya spent another night to better their bond, then walked home. The Village welcomed her back, grateful she was unhurt, but some of the other hunters ridiculed her for failing her Rite. She spoke nothing to them, only packed a large amount of food and left the village again, trekking back into the mountains alone.

It was nearly two weeks before they saw Kameya again, but this time she was riding on the back of 'Ìp. She'd taken the time to make sure 'Ìp's wing had fully healed before allowing her to fly and taking their first flight together. She found that while 'Ìp was very shy, she was also very brave and extremely fast; she just needed her confidence built up. As the two had landed, she sneered at the group of boys who'd taunted her, then explained what had transpired to the olo'eyktan. She pet 'Ìp's head absentmindedly as she had her Rite finalized, and was welcomed as a full-fledged hunter. She didn't have to be a warrior after all.

Ikran Name: Vari'ina [VEHR-EE-NAH]
Gender: Female
Age: No one knows; not even her (predicted age: 24; maybe younger)
Story: She has been various places and has seen various things, but none of it had struck any familiarity in her. Due to an 'incident' that she was told was 'just a bump to the head', she doesn't remember anything from her childhood; she just remembers the current three years that she's been searching for answers. During that search, she has met many, but one particular presence has always stuck with her: The Red Shadow. It's always there... seemingly guiding her. Protecting her. It always whispers in words that she believes she's heard before, but she can never quite remember where... nor can she translate what it's saying... however, one particular thing stands out to her about this being: Whenever it appears, it always greets her with the word 'Vari'ina'. What it means, she doesn't know... but The Red Shadow seems adament about calling her that. The name doesn't seem familiar to her, but how is she to know that this is or is not her name? She doesn't know... so she allows herself to be called 'Vari'ina'.

I choose this story, not only because it is the longest, but I believe it to be well written and thought out. :) Congratulations! Please take good care of her! <3
