What are Khimaira Friesians?
Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Name Meaning: ok so I know what you’re thinking, probably something like “Fire, why the heck are you making a Harry Potter reference ugh how, pray tell, how does this tie into Norse theme?” Haha well let me tell ya (cause it does I swear hear me out lol)! So Heimdall was a Norse god, and he is said to be the guardian of the rainbow gate to Asgard (the home of all the Norse gods and goddesses). Not much is known about him, but in the few mentions of him in ancient poems he is described as haveing pale white complexion and golden hair and other features (presumably eyes or teeth). Naturally, I made the color scheme connection here, but I wanted his show name to be something different, so I read more into his known story. And I found out that when Ragnarök (the Norse version of the end of the world) arrives, Heimdall is fortold to kill Loki, the god of mischief! So aha! I could work with that! (Actually I had to work with that I had no choice there’s literally almost nothing about this dude known to modern time) and thats when I came up with Mischief Managed! Loki’s the god of mischief, so it makes sense that when Heimdall kills him in “Ragnarök” mischief would be managed! Plus it sounds cool I think lol!

(PS fun fact, Heimdall also had a horse named Gulltoppr (I don’t know how to pronounce that lol) and Gulltoppr had a golden mane. That’s all it says about him, but thought it was another interesting connection since this guy has a golden-brown mane!)
