Name: Blueshadow
Gender: Male
Clan: CreekClan
Age: 42 Moons
Rank: Warrior

Prompt:
As a kit, Blueshadow didn't live in CreekClan, and he didn't know his mother. He just had his crazy and delusional father. Blue didn't listen to a lot of what his father said, but there is one tale that lingers still and affects his everyday life. His father once told him a story about how love could corrupt one's heart, and how it could make a feline weak and soft. It was a story about how an old tom-cat who was very strong and handsome fell in love with a perfect she-cat and had kits, but he fell too deeply in love, become soft and easy to hurt, and when his mate left him with his children it literally killed him. Blue shadowed believed this, he saw how damaged his father is from when his mother left them after his sister died a little after being born. No sooner was Blue weaned did his mother leave once and for all.

This affects Blueshadow very much throughout every day. He is barely around his mate, Cranberryleaf, and rarely talks to her as mates, instead, he talks to her as he would a normal clanmate. Even before they had children he was like this. He claimed he loved her but was rarely around, often detached and thinking about other things, like when the next storm is coming and how the prey is running in other parts of the world. He never told Cranberryleaf why though. What's even worse is that Blueshadow is not attached to his kits at all. He doesn't talk to them or visit them at all. He's too scared of becoming attached and being hurt when they grow up and leave him. The kittens try and seek their father out, try and make things right, but he is rarely in camp, instead, he is out hunting with his friends, making his kittens dislike him more and more every day.

Blueshadow wanted to pass the story on to his kittens, but then he thinks about how close he and his father were and how much it hurt when they parted. They didn't need the weight on their shoulders, not right now, anyway.

    username - ravenwhisper's wish ✩ name - valleysnarl ✩ clan - waveclan ✩ age - 40 moons ✩ rank - deputy

'Every time a lie falls off your tongue, another warrior's death is determined.'
More of a superstition than a story, truth be told, but there is a legend to go with it.
The ancients say that the mighty warrior Eagle was a good cat. A flawless cat, a perfect cat.
But if you dig deeper, you'll find out that no cat is perfect. Every cat does wrong at some point.

    Image

Even Eagle did things wrong. And Eagle's fate was one beaten into every kitten as soon as they were old enough to understand. Lying is deadly. Of course: Valleykit and others questioned this. Why? they asked. But the story is real. The story is true. And the story goes like this. Eagle was a normal warrior, not a typical leader candidate, but not a total failure either. There was just one thing wrong. Even as a kit, Eagle's tongue ran away with him. He couldn't stop lying. It was impossible.

    Image

Every time Eagle lied another cat died. Every single curdling untruth that rolled out of his mouth seemed to cause one of his loved ones to die. His mother, his father, every one of his littermates. Even his best friend. It was soon believed by the Clan that Eagle himself was a curse, the cause of this sudden destruction. When Eagle himself died, the Clan relaxed.

To avoid more curses like this, WaveClan forces it into every cat from kithood that lies are purely evil.
The majority of cats simply don't lie, and forget about this terrifying legend after a while.
Valleysnarl could never forget. If he did he wouldn't know what would happen.

    It might be deadly.

Age: 50 moons

Prompt: Some legends are told, others are hear, some are seen... others are experienced...

"It all happened when I was a kit." Talltail said as he gathered everyone around the rock in the middle of camp. "Is this going to be a long story?" Ravenmoon grumbled softly, "Shhhh Ravenmoon I want to hear this." Silentclaw chuckled softly. Talltail cleared his throat again, "I saw him on the ridge! Like a ghost in the night! The Phantom Ghost..." he said. Ravenmoon rolled her eyes as she let him continue. "The Phantom Ghost?" Echostar asked as she laid down on the rock to list. "Aye! Let me tell you... this cat is white like a ghost and they say he can sneak into any camp and steal the prey and rare herbs right under your nose." Talltail said, "Why?" Ravenmoon asked.

"He gives it to sick kits who need it and poor families who don't have a clan to protect them." Talltail said, Softfeather purred, "That sounds wonderful..." She said. "And you saw him?" Shadowstep scoffed softly. "I did! He came to my old camp, I saw him take some of our kill and I followed him." Talltail said, "Through the forest to a she-cat who was expecting kits, she was hungry and needed the help... she gratefully ate the fresh kill." He explained. "So is that all he does?" Ravenmoon asked, "W-Well no! He's like a ghost, he just comes and goes... like he was never there to begin with." Talltail said, "Like a whisper in the night!" Silentclaw chuckled softly. "Exactly! He's a hero to some a rogue to others, I also hear he is devilishly handsome like myself." Talltail purred proudly. Softfeather laughed softly, "Is that so?" She asked. "I should like to meet this Phantom Ghost, he would make a marvelous addition to the clan." Echostar purred gently. Talltail purred, "Maybe one day he will visit... but I doubt even you could catch him Echostar." Talltail said with a soft tone before he looked up at the moon. Maybe one day he would see him again.

Username: .sins. || Name: Spidercloud || Gender: tom || Clan: Strawberryclan || Age: 29 moons || Rank: warrior

Prompt:

The elders grumbled as the apprentices dug into their coats, obviously not wanting to get rid of their ticks. Spiderpaw quipped in asking for the best story about knowing a cat by it's fur. The den fell silent then Harerunner spoke.

"It's been said that the more white there is on a cat, shows how many more times Starclan will let the cat live among us." Everyone turned to him and got comfort able. "You have cats like Cloudsong, who are all white, while some like Runningshadow with none. Then there are some like you and me," Harerunner's gaze bore holes into Spiderpaw's pelt, "That have partial white."

"Quit dragging the story along, tell us what it means, you old grump," Moorwind croaked, having sat up for the first time in moons. a smile seemed to come across all at the sight, before the story was continued.

"Pure white cats are fresh from Starclan, if you would. A new soul created and allowed to live it's many lives. The more it lives the white soon begins to get covered by a color and markings, or just color. Once it's just whatever color it's decided on, Starclan brings them home for good. And they live out their days will all the fresh kill they can eat." The apprentices looked at their pelts and got excited at the prospect of eating so much prey, they wouldn't get yelled at. Many got up and bounded out to tell their parent about their good fortune, or what they just heard. Spiderpaw stayed behind to pick up the moss balls of bile.

Turning to leave a tail tip stopped him. "There's more to this story, if you care to listen?" Dropping the balls outside the den the young tom sat back down. "Black cats are ones who didn't want to go back to Starclan. So it started to wear out their colors. They have repeatedly told Starclan that their job wasn't done. They aren't part of a darker place they just love their clan so much. Black tabby markings show darkness in some cat's past lives but it is what makes them who they are. Tabby's have always been ones with firey personalities, trying to challenge what we know, or how we do things. Their marks is why. Colored tabbies are trying to right their 'wrongs', you could say. so when you see a. orange tabby with colored markings, they have found peace again."

Spiderpaw didn't realize how long he had been lying there by the time the elder was done. His mind so entwined by learning about all the colors and what they mean to Starclan. "Just remember youngster, we don't judge someone based on their past, just on who they are trying to become now, in Starclan's eyes." a Rustling at the den entrance made the young tom jump up.

"There you are Spiderpaw, what has taken you so long?" Before he could talk Harerunner said he was busy telling him crazy stories and he was nice enough to entertain him. Cloudsong purred, "Well let's get some evening training in real fast, huh? Hunting or fighting?"

Looking at the all white she-cat, he felt his heart soar. 'She is pure to this world, and will give everything to this clan, if that's what she chooses.' He then looked at the black and white on his 'Starclan knows my path is one of hardships but won't be taking me back just yet'. "Let's practice hunting, please?" Together the two cats trotted out of camp.

They say there is a shadowy cat who goes around and avenges those who have been wronged, protecting the cats of the forest. They talk of the shadow as if it is real, though to Darkthunder it very much is.

      He saw it.

Just a kit when he was told the tale by his older brother, Darkthunder had dreamed of the shadow cat for as long as he could remember. He wanted it to come to their family, avenge the death of their mother who had been gone before he even got a chance to know her, killed by a hostile band of rogues. It had been just Darkthunder and his brother travelling on their own, hoping to one day find the place where they might belong. Along with the tale of the shadow, Darkthunder's brother would tell him of the cats that would get what was coming for them.

Darkthunder knows that the shadow cat is real. He knows that this mysterious figure goes around and protects those that need it, knows that it does as the tales suggest and seeks vengeance on those that did wrong to the innocent. His brother became the shadow that Darkthunder heard about, fulfilling his prophecy of revenge while paying the ultimate price. The tales of the shadow cat of justice spread, like a wildfire of a hero. Darkthunder knew that the shadow was real, more than a mere tale the others thought it was. Even if the original shadow is now gone, it is still very much alive, still seeking out wrongdoers.

Darkthunder knows it is real because he has become the shadow cat.

❝There was once a lost kitten who lived in the pine forest of the
mountainous region in which the territory of Glacial Blizzard Clan lies.
It is said that this kitten was born of Nelous, the Goddess of Love, and
Artris, the God of Life. Nelous and her wife Ghava, the Goddess of
Medicine, wished for a child of their own but could not have one in the
realm of the gods. So the couple consulted with Artris, the white lion
god who holds the power to create a child of the gods to be able to
live on earth.

This lone kitten, a pure white male with brilliant green eyes and long
fur, roams through the forest in search of those who are lost in life.
Said to be a thousand years old, though he has never aged a day over
5 moons old, he seeks out the troubled and lost cats who tend to live
in the forest. It is his job to help them find their way to their destinies,
whatever they may be. Legend has it that this kitten has the collective
knowledge of the Gods and Goddesses and is able to see what the
destiny and purpose for each and every cat that roams the territory.
❞

Duskcloud, having not been born into Glacial Blizzard Clan, didn't hear
this story until he was of apprentice's age although he believes it with
all his heart. When he fled his birth family of Plainsclan, the mortal
enemies of Glacial Blizzard Clan, he got lost in the deadened forest in
between the river and his birth clan. It is here that he swore he saw a
figure of a pure white kitten who led him to the territory of his new clan
and, while he didn't speak to him, somehow Dusk knew that he was
supposed to go to this new clan and ask to take refuge there.

He hopes to one day tell someone of this encounter, but for now he is
content to keep the secret between the son of the Gods and himself.

Username: Altoviireo
Name: Jack (will be Sparrowbreeze)
Gender: Male
Clan:Loner (will be Voyagerclan)
Age: 29 moons
Rank: Loner (Soon to be Warrior)

Prompt:
"Come on you two, off to bed."

Sparrowkit was excited to hear tonight's story- well, he was always excited to hear stories. This one was particularly exciting because she was going to tell them the story of Dartriver and Lionstar.

"I dont wanna go to bed!" Crowkit complained, and Waspthroat picked him up. The three made their way to the nursery portion of the cave.

In the den, Waspthroat curled around her two sons. "Would you two like to hear Dartriver and Lionstar's story?"

"Yeah!" Sparrowkit said excitedly. He looked at Crowkit who reluctantly agreed.

"Alright. The story goes something like this..."

***

Dartriver was a... Very prideful cat. He thought he was the best hunter, the best fighter- whatever it was, he was the best at it. That's what he bragged, anyway. He was also a rude and spiteful cat who had always broken the code and chose to use claws before his words.

He would get into royal spats with Bisonstar on a regular occasion. On one occasion, however, this would cost him dearly.

One night, he and Bisonstar had gotten into a nasty argument about the deputy.

"Why did you pick Dewstorm to be deputy? I'm more than qualified!" Dartriver hissed.

"And so is Dewstorm. Dewstorm knows how to show respect that you don't have. Plus, I have never had a problem with her." Bisonstar replied.

Dartriver had gone into the forest when he felt the air suddenly turn cold. It was the middle of summer, so it was highly unusual. A figure had stepped out of the woods.

"Dartriver... I have seen your potential." The cat said, smiling.

"Who are you?" Dartriver asked, eyeing him in case he tried anything.

"I am Lionstar. I understand you want to be leader?" The figure looked at him. He didnt move except for the occasional flick of his long tail.

"I would love nothing more. I am the most qualified cat, after all." Dartriver had suddenly relaxed.

"You have more ambition than my own kin." Lionstar chuckled. "I wish to make you a deal."

Dartriver agreed. Lionstar would kill Bisonstar if Dartriver killed Dewstorm. He would also grant him strength, a solid leadership, and everything he could possibly want.

Bisonstar shortly after died of sudden and mysterious circumstances. Dartriver waited with Lionstar at the Star Tree.

When Dewstorm and Beetlewhisper had arrived, they were ambushed. They fought a long fight, but when Lionstar saw he would not win, he vanished and left Dartriver to defend himself against Dewstorm and Beetlewhisper. He was ultimately killed by them, and because he had made a deal with a Deimos, he was chased into the shadelands.

***

That story stuck with Sparrowkit. It stuck with him through the few moons he was an apprentice, and even when he had become a loner and called himself Jack, it stuck with him. It influenced his choices and actions, and because of it, he chose to use words and kindness over his claws and hatred.

What he didn't know was that this was not just a legend. Everything in the story had been true.

Postby F0XFANG » Tue May 07, 2019 12:47 am

Username: beau.
Name: dark of cautious ivy
Gender: male
Clan: tribe of gleaming night
Age: 43 moons
Rank: hunter

Prompt: (1007 words)
The Tribe of Gleaming Night had many stories and tales that seemed outrageous and extreme to the adults, but to the kits, they were stories of brave warriors fighting off pure evil and badness. However, one tale wasn’t mentioned as often as the others; a story about a quiet she-cat who had the power to control whoever she wanted simply by gazing at them. Her eyes were said the most beautiful shade of green to ever exist, and anyone who made eye contact with her for more than a split moment found themselves lost in the pure perfection that was she. Anything she asked them to do, they would do, including disastrous, family-destroying actions that could never be forgiven. She would make her way through clans and tribes alike, seeking out anyone who would be gullible enough to fall under her spell, and when she found her victim, she’d cause havoc. She’d lost count of how many places she’d ruined.

One very specific tribe she found was thriving and facing no dangers whatsoever, so she posed as a wounded lady needing a place to stay until her wounds healed over. The tribe was all too welcoming to the she-cat, and she quickly made friends and foes alike. Some liked her, despite her being a complete stranger, and some despised her for being a complete stranger. However, one cat stood out among the others; a black and white tom with eyes that mimicked her own. She knew that he would be her target, but every day that her eyes met his, she could never break him down. Over the days, she found herself falling more and more in love with him, until he led her out of camp and towards the nearby cliffs. β€œIf you love me, you’ll fetch me a blue flower from the riverbed below.” She jumped without thinking of the consequences, willing to do anything to win over this tom’s affection. When she realised what she’d done, she couldn’t move her body. Everything was fuzzy. She heard him laugh though. Heard him laugh, sneer and tease her; he knew exactly who she was, and was so impressed with himself that she’d never be able to hurt a clan or tribe again. He left her there, by herself and alone, just waiting to greet the Gathering of Blinding Stars; the ancestors that would be all too disappointed in her for what she’d done.

--

Dark of Little Steps did not believe in such a tall tale. It was only that; a story that the elders told the kits in order to scare them away from anyone they thought would use them against them. He may have been a kit, but he knew better than to fall under any pretty she-cat’s spell. Who would be that stupid?

Dark of Learning Paws felt the same way; the elders told stupidly unbelievable stories that nobody would dare believe. Or so he believed. He was only a new trainee when a timid she-cat and her child arrived at the tribe, and with the chief being all too welcoming, they were allowed to stay for as long as they needed. The child, Flower, became a trainee alongside Dark. She was the most beautiful cat he’d ever seen. The two got on like a forest fire and were hardly seen apart from one another, only when they were going on specific hunter/gatherer tasks. A few days before their ceremony, the pair snuck out of camp and off towards the mountains. It was moonhigh as they found a comfortable spot to sit and talk. Flower told Dark everything about how her mother wanted to destroy the tribe and take the territory for the two of them. She asked him if he’d join them in destroying his home, and he readily agreed.

The next morning, Dark realised his mistake and went to the single most trustworthy cat he knew. Robin of Grouchy Belly was almost asleep as the trainee finished his story, but understood most of it. β€œShe’s got you under a spell, boy. Never trust a she-cat with green eyes. You know how the story goes, right?”

Dark gulped. It was just a story. It wasn’t happening to him. It was just a story. β€œYou’ve told me that story many times, Robin. I know how it goes.”

β€œThen stop following her around like a flea and tell Wind of Restless Clouds what they’re planning to do.”

Flower and her mother were found dead the next day, the day of their ceremony. They were just lying there in the middle of the camp; peaceful and eerily calm, like they were having a simple nap. Dark of Learning Paws knew that it was his fault. He managed to escape the green-eyed she-cat’s grasp, told his chief, and their death was the price for him to be free. His ceremony was postponed another day, in order for the friends of the intruders to mourn; despite what they were planning, they were just cats wanting a new home. Wind had taught his tribe well. Dark, however, ran straight to Robin, crying about how it was all his fault. β€œYou know how the story goes. Did you expect anything else to happen?” The trainee was speechless as the elder spoke. β€œYou, and the two of them, would have died if you tried to attack the tribe from within. Promise me, Dark, whatever happens in your future, never trust a she-cat with green eyes.”

--

Dark of Cautious Ivy didn’t believe the story as a kit, and tried so hard to forget what his trainee moons exposed him to. But every single time he sees a she-cat with green eyes, no matter how beautiful or scraggly she is, he is on edge through every word they share. Every glance sends shocks down his spine, and every touch makes him scared that something bad will happen and one of them will die.

He’ll never admit to believing the tale of the green-eyed she-cat.

But he believes it with his entire being.

The battle of Aurora and Avalanche:
As a kit, Nightfury loved to listen to the stories the elders told, about the gods and the ancestors and more importantly about the dragons. Strong warriors that the gods sent down during Earth’s desperate times, warriors so powerful that even the gods themselves had trouble controlling them at times. Warriors the roared fire and that soared through the sky, striking fear into the hearts of there targets. She could still remember Honeyfern telling her about the warriors not so long ago.

β€œNightkit what a pleasant surprise.” The older molly chuckled as she watched the young kit scamper from the nursery over to where she laid in front of the elder den, not surprised at all.

β€œHoneyfern!” The young kit called out, skidding to a stop in front of the molly, claws digging into the soft dirt to keep her body upright.

β€œWhat can I do for you this morning Nightkit?” Honeyfern asked while laying down so she would be eye level with the kit.

β€œCan you tell me a story?” Nightkit asked, trying to hide her excitement but the vibrating of her body gave her away.

Smiling back at the kit the older molly only nodded at first before asking, β€œAnd what story would you like to hear?” Although she already had a fairly good idea just what story the fiery kit wanted to be told.

β€œThe dragons!” Nightkit yelled as she jumped up, shame covering her face for a moment at the volume and the turned heads of other clan members. β€œSorry, can you tell me a story about the dragons, the god's warriors?”

There it was, the reason Nightkit came to see her, it was always the reason the young kit came to see her. Not like it was a bad thing, at four moons old Honeyfern couldn’t fault the kit for being only concerned with her own search for knowledge. The older molly couldn’t remember the times well herself, but she’d seen it many times over the seasons. β€œOf course I can tell you about the warriors.” She purred while getting the kit to settled down next to her.

β€œNow we don’t we talk about a very specific warrior dragon, a pure white one, that’s taller than the ridge you see there and brings light to any who see here. It was long before Ridgeclan lived here that this dragon, Aurora was sent down by the gods to cleanse the land. A monster had rampaged through the lands, destroying everything in its path. The monster was named Avalanche and to this day the descriptions of his change depending on who you ask, but one thing is for certain even the shadows hide at his sight.

Now before the gods decided they needed to use force the warriors of earth tried to stop Avalanche themselves but everything they threw at him just turned to dust, no one ever came back once they were sent to fight him. It was after much destruction that the gods realized that had to do something to stop the monster and so Aurora volunteered herself to fight the beast, flying down from her home and landing here in ours.

For four days the pair fought, a battle heard all around the world as they clashed in roars and claws. At the end, a bright light encompassed the earth and when it faded from sight Avalanche was gone, as was Aurora. No one knows what happened during those four days, unable to get close to see anything. But in the end, both vanished from the land. It is said that the light was Aurora sacrificing herself to destroy the monster and cleanse the land. When those living here were finally able to return they were met with a battle scene for the ages, the mountains you see now and the ridge that protects us were created by the two of them fighting, moving the earth itself in their battle.”

With the story over Nightkit laid eyes wide and frozen, probably as still as the kit had ever sat. β€œSo she died protecting everyone?”

β€œYes Nightkit, a dragons fury is a powerful thing and they will do anything to protect those that they believe need it.”

β€œI want to be like the dragons!”

Smiling at the memory Nightfury moved through the forest with grace, the ridge flanking her right side. The ridge created by the great fight, a flight she believes wholehearted happened, one that changed the earth. And just like the dragon in the fight, Nightfury will fight with the fury of a dragon to protect those she believes need it.
