and anxiety melt away near the little
pokemon, and after inquiring about
them, she'd been told they were good
for people with anxiety like herself.
one of the shuppets, nyx, wouldn't
leave harley's side as she walked
around the sanctuary, and she ended
up with a new family member as she left.

she never had the intention of fighting,
so she asked around and, when ready,
applied for the adoption of the skiddo.
she was ecstatic when she heard that
she'd been chosen to take the pokemon
home, and she readied her little yard
out by her garden for the skiddo. of
course, once she'd actually brought
poppy home, it was clear he wouldn't
be staying outside, where she intended
him to. he was attached at her hip,
refusing to leave her for more than a
few minutes at a time, and he'd scream
when left alone. harley didn't mind,
though, as she didn't intend to leave him.

turned to her with narrow eyes but
no sign it was going to attack. in fact,
once it caught a whiff of the rare candy
in her pocket, it seemed keen to follow
her home, where it decided it wanted to stay.

a pond placed to the side of her small
garden, big enough for all her family
to relax in on hot summer days, and
close enough that maki didn't feel alone.

being one unable to deny her beloved
pokemon of anything, harley kept a
few in her pocket at all times, giving
the little one a candy when she asked.
soon enough, harley had a grotle, and
not long after that, a very big torterra
who loved to knock her over nudging
her for candy. harley doesn't mind the
bruises her big lovebug gives her, though,
as wisteria lets her use her back as
an extension of her garden, which
mutually benefits them. wis is also a
good, shady bed to rest on in the summer.

Viola is a lover of music, so her team incorporates a variety of musical pokemon. With the help of Chatot's "Mimic", Viola can relisten to specific music that she hears along her travels. Smeargle's "Sketch" helps Viola when she wants to compose new music, helping her pick the right notes and writing them down on paper. After her music is finished, Meloetta and Kricketune help her by singing and playing the instrumentals for her work, so she can hear it and make edits where necessary, Oricorio dancing along to the beat and helping her pick the perfect tempo for her creations. Overall, Javai has always been drawn to two types of pokemon: normal and ground. They're perhaps not the most popular, or what one would expect from someone as flashy as her, but she doesn't mind in the slightest. She's good at what she does and the bond she has with her team is unbreakable. Ever since she got her first Teddiursa, she's been committed to her favored types and wants to give them the chance to shine too. Many of her pokemon are also abandoned or rescued by her personally from collectors.

Palette the Smeargle
Pal belonged to her mother and has been by her side for as long as she can remember. He is extremely devoted to her mother and, as such, doesn't exactly listen to Jav when she tells him to do things. However, he is loyal. His old trainer may be gone, but Jav is her spitting image and he'd never let any harm come to her.
Bear the Ursaring
Bear was her true first pokemon. Obtained as a young child (hence Bear's unfortunate name), Jav started her journey with a grumpy little fuzzball who liked to cause trouble. Fully grown now, Bear is fierce and protective. She never gives up a fight and, while her stubborn side occasionally shows, she and Javai trust each other with their lives.
Lars the Larvitar
Lars hatched from an egg given to Javai near the start of her journey. Having hatched him herself, Javai is incredibly protective of him. He refuses to evolve and behaves like a cat, often settling upon her shoulder and lazing about all day. He's the baby of the family and he knows it. He also, incorrectly, thinks he's a Cubone, due to his unusual surrogate mom.
Cora the Cubone
Cora is the sweetest little pokemon you've ever met. She helped Javai hatch Lars and is incredibly attached to him. Maternal and gentle, she makes sure everyone stays out of trouble - or, er, at least to the best of her ability.
Barf the Spinda
Javai found Barf abandoned by a previous trainer who'd only captured them to add to their shiny hoard. Unfortunately, they refused to respond to anything but Barf, thus came their rather unpleasant name. Barf themself is very pleasant, however, and often spends their free time gathering flowers and making flower crowns.
Furro the Furret
Furro sat in a storage box for literal years before Javai saved him. She worked hard to earn his trust after that and, while he's still terrified to go back into his pokeball, he absolutely adores her and trusts that she'd never ever box him.
