“I used to think anyone could be anything.”
Galaxy grew up a very optimistic spirit. He was always happy and energetic as a pup. His father was a master hunter, and his mother was attentive and loving. Being a chimera, he had no siblings. Perhaps he would have, if it weren’t for the fact that, well, he was technically also his own sibling. He would snicker at the idea that at least he always would have his own back.
His mother was good to him- keeping him entertained and active. But no one was perfect, and she didn’t always have the same amount of energy as the spry young pup. Sometimes, Galaxy felt... lonely.
During adolescence, Galaxy began following his father to hunts. He wanted to learn from the best. He learned that dark pelts, like his mother, hunted well at night. That light pelts, like his father, hinted well during the day in the grass. He learned that spots did well under the trees to mimic shadows. Galaxy? He had all of this and none of it at the same time. He learned to hunt small prey still, he could easily help take down larger prey once it was already on the run. But he knew he’d never take down large game by himself like his father.
Galaxy was, undoubtedly, different.
Once he was grown up, Galaxy began to hunt by himself. It was never much, but he insisted he learn to work with his coat.

How has their chimerism affected their life?:

As soon as she was born, Kalypso was regarded as special. From the very first time she opened her eyes to look at her mother's surprised expression, to every gasp of awe that she would receive from everyone she met. Chimerism had never been seen before in her pack, so everyone treated her like she was some incredible gift that they had been given. She was praised by all those around her and given everything she could have ever wanted. But growing up she always felt.. isolated, despite how much affection she was granted.

When it came down to it, the only one who could truly understand her was herself. In that way, it helped to make her feel better knowing that she was technically her own sibling. Brothers and sisters were always meant to be there for each other, so she was going to be there for herself, no matter how difficult it might have been.

But it wasn't all bad. Even when her father was blinded by a fate of greatest for her due to her coat, Kalypso's mother was always there for her. When it came down to it, she didn't treat her like some magnificent chrysocyon sent to guide the pack to greater things. To her, she was just her little pup, her little 'Mosaic'. That was how she kept herself on the right path, not getting greedy or selfish due to her gifts. There truly was nothing special about her other than the mixed colours of her fur. She had no magical powers, nor was she especially stunning when it came to her speed, or her strength. Kalypso was just... average.

Despite whatever her father wanted from her, the young chryos had been determined to pave her own way in life.

And that came in the form of comedy.

The chimera began to make a fool of herself where ever she would go. Playing with the forest animals or the younger pups in her pack, always making silly faces to try to get them to laugh. The joy she found in making others laugh instead of stand in awe was something immense to her. Just the simple act of telling a joke, or making a silly noise was met with joyous faces. Purposefully tripping and falling into a puddle of mud was even funnier, and soon her ears would be full of the sound of laughter from whoever she was entertaining. Truly, it seemed as though she had found her calling, and it didn't have anything to do with her coat.

And so she continued, living her life just how she wanted it to go. There was no destiny planned for her as it had first been thought. And even if there was, Kalpyso was determined to be the master of her own fate, much to the dismay of her father.

Naturally, he was appalled that she seemed so 'ungrateful' of her gift. "You were born to lead us, not make us soft!" He would cry, but Kalypso would always just shake her head with a smile, and respond. "If I wasn't born for this, then why am I so good at it?" There was nothing the older chryo could say to deter her from her chosen path of laughs and foolery. It was her life to lead, and there was nothing that he could say to stop her.

In the end, it seemed as though despite how her chimerism should have changed her life, Kalypso had worked to make sure she was just as ordinary as everyone else, one slip up or bad joke at a time. And by the time she was all grown up and ready to leave the care of her parents, her pack no longer saw her how her father had wanted them too. She wasn't 'Kalypso the Magnificent', destined to be the strongest, prettiest, and fastest chrysocyon to have ever lived. She wasn't some savour meant to make the pack rise above all others...

Kalyso was just the fool she had made herself to be. The one to always make you laugh and smile whenever you were feeling down. And it had been her choice to become it. And that was all that she cared about. The differences she was born with didn't make her any more special than a chryos born with a coat of a solid colour. If anything, it made her strive to be as much of a master of her own destiny as she could possibly be.
