Personality:
Zena is a rather calm and collected mare, more often than not you can find her just grazing around the pasture unaffected by the events or takings of those happening around her. It’s not because she doesn’t know what’s going on though, she just chooses not to react to it. In fact, she is a very observant mare, an ear or eye always trained on what’s happening even if many believe she’s just ignoring it.

Her calmness comes from the fact that she knows how to handle situations should they arise and control her nerves as she’s been taught to do from a young age. Horses are skittish by nature, but Zena’s mother taught her that this was a flaw for horses that lived with the humans, a thing of the past from when they lived in the wild. If they paused and asserted the situation first, they could make a far wiser decision on how to act. So Zena learned to calm her instincts and look before she acted.

The observant nature she held came from the same teachings, although she’d always been a very curious and easily intrigued foal, always wanting to learn and figure out more. The more information she gathered and collect, the better she could react and plan for different circumstances.

With her mother now gone Zena relays fully on her own judgment, even on the simplest things she learned to accept thoughts and ideas from no one but herself. Even as a foal she learned that other horses acted to fast, but as her mother has said. They were too rash and quick to make a move, something Zena prided herself in not doing. She would have a plan before she acted and if something messed up that plan she would have three more behind it in the waiting, ready to be put into place if the need came up.

Of course, this means that the mare is rather harsh when it comes to speaking with other horses barely finding a reason to do so even if she craves the company of others. Really she’d just be fine to be around other horses and not have to speak to them, but that’s not how it tends to go. Her words come out harsh and clipped, something entirely unintentional but highly predictable. Making it hard for the mare to make friends, to where she’s learned to just keep her mouth shut to keep from scaring or pushing others away.

Personality: Pacifica roams the pastures as if she owns the entirety of the ranch. Her confidence is admirable, if not completely intimidating; she tends to boast and brag and toot her own horn any chance she gets, and while it does get irritating from time to time, she’s never lost any of her childish games. She’s won every race, every hurdle jumping contest, every apple stealing contest anyone’s thrown at her. It’s utterly ridiculous, but it’s difficult to beat her.

Pacifica tends to get a little too competitive, and can often get so caught up in the spirit of the contest that she doesn’t realize she took it two steps too far five minutes ago. She taunts, berates and mocks her opponents, and flaunts and prances around like the pits of fashion when she inevitably wins. This has gotten her into many, many arguments with her herd mates - arguments that would’ve surely evolved into fights had an older mare not broken it up. When she finally comes to terms with her mistakes, Pacifica will apologize profusely for getting so into it; she just doesn’t know what comes over her, honest!

This mare, while competitive to an absolute fault, is otherwise a very sweet horse once you get to know her. Sure, she may have a bit of a trash talker’s vocabulary when she gets into a contest, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s rude! She just loves the thrill of victory, is all!
Pacifica is generous (when not making stupid bets), and would probably give up her share of hay for an unfortunate soul who would’ve gone without otherwise. She also follows the mantra “forgive and forget” almost religiously, and will live by those words probably until her last breath. However, this mare is also a little too naive and quick to forgive others; after all, if they were kind enough to forgive her when she said all those nasty things about them during the race, then it’s only fair that she do the same as well, right?

Overall, Pacifica is a gullible and loveable sweetheart who loves any and all competitions thrown at her.
